I have a Voda phone number. I got a missed call from a number [protected] and when I called back I was asked to call a Mr. Vijay Kumar on [protected]. When I did call I was told that I won 10Lacs in some lottery and they asked which bank I would like to receive the money through. I then gave them my PNB account number as I know there is no money in the account. I have now come to realize that this number is a Pakistan number, the call coming through via Yamuna Nagar, Haryana. I have been told to call up again at 8 am tomorrow the 26th March. Can someone please look into this. I will call again n try n see what the catch is.

Okay Here is the catch I assume. I got about 5 missed calls this morning from the same number [protected]. Till I got fed up and called back and was told that Vijay Kumar was waiting for my call. So I called up at 9 am. He then gave me the same rubbish about the 10Lac lottery and about it being transferred to my account but before that I was to deposit Rs.15200/- in some account and I would be given a pin code which I would have to call and give him then the money would be transferred. I immediately cut the phone as I feel this is the whole idea of the lottery to extract money from people and then vanish. My request to the forum would be to please inform as many people as possible about this because in the greed for the 10Lacs many people must have been fooled in the past that is why they are still making such calls. I know that such fraud used to happen via email but on Mobiles? Now that is new.
We got missed call from no :[protected] and unknowinly we called back (25/- lost on call) and wanted to call [protected] to collect 25 lakh gift cheque.

I also got two back to back missed calls from [protected]. And when I called back to that no. for inquiry then some person saying Mr. Vinay kumar form Mumbai (which is certainly false information) is talking to me and informed that I have won lottery of Rs. 25 lacs as I am using Airtel sim.
I immediately cut the phone. Also 1.5 min call cost me Rs. 24.
Such fraud calls must be prevented. Such false calls may harm, harass and cost to anyone.

Today (24-May-2012), I got call from number [protected]. The person on the line told me that I have won a cash lottery of 25 lacs from Airtel. He also told me to contact Akash Verma on toll free number ([protected]). He also told that Akash Verma is processing my file and will assist me with the process to get the cash money. I called the number (I don't think, its a toll free number). Akash Verma told me that I can get the cash money and I have to deposit Rs 20, 200/- in ICICI bank. He also asked me about my bank account details, in which I would prefer to receive the money.

I also was getting calls from +92 continuously. My phone (Delhi) was switched off so i got missed call alert of 8 missed calls. i rang back in one of the two +92 no.s without checking. one lady told me that i got a lottery of 15 lac, gave a no (89911) & kept telling the same thing again & again(call went from me without knowing that i am on a ISD call). She told me to check the back of my sim card. if it matched then i should call her again & tell her my A/C no. SBI will transfer the money. i checked. it matched. then out of curiosity i checked my kolkata no. also.it was 89933. That means it is a generic no. related to the std codes!! for Del 89911, for bombay 89922 & so on..then i checked online & came to know about the hoax.. but then i realised, 25 rs. gone for the previous call :'(

My Father got a call from this no [protected] on[protected]betweem 6-8 PM). This Call was from "Mr. Rahul Sharma" and said that "This is the call from BSNL & You Won a prize of cash Rs10, 00, 000 so please hurry up & contact on this no ([protected]) for more details, While contacting on the said number "Mr. Akash Verma" received the call & ask about the Bank Account no & Home Address & also said to deposite a sum of Rs 20.000 in a perticular account number. On 2nd day i.e.[protected] morning again a call is received from Mr. Rahul Sharma (From [protected]) Said that they are also offering a Mumbai Ticket to them kindly contact on the same number ([protected]) with Mr. Akash Verma" My father strictly told him to do not call/ try to contact for any concern & also done the call to [protected] for stop all this nonsense.
