[Resolved] Godrej Refrigerators — Godrej refrigerators: avoid buying | |||
I registered complaint # [protected] with Godrej Customer Care ( phone number[protected] on 13 October 2011 for OVERCOOLING in my Godrej refrigerator. Six days later, on 19 October 2011, an electrician came to my residence in Kodaikanal, from Dindigul, Tamil Nadu. He replaced my thermostat with a defective thermostat (they are recycling old and defective parts by taking the replaced parts from customer homes, cleaning and packing them to look like new), and then insisted on replacing the compressor relay too. He took my perfectly functioning relay and put in an old relay. For this work, he charged me Rs. 1,550. The fact is, that a defective relay will prevent the compressor from starting, and my compressor had no problem starting! Since there was no improvement in the working condition, I requested the electrician to return to my home and return the relay he had removed from my refrigerator. I have also sent two separate letters to Mr. Ravi Bhat, the service manager of Godrej, but with no response. I have called[protected] a dozen times to request immediate action, but there is no response. Finally, I called a private mechanic from Madurai at my own expense, to come rectify the problem, and it became necessary to replace the defective thermostat that the Godrej mechanic had installed on 19 October 2011. One thing is clear. Godrej service is ridiculously slow to respond to complaints, if they choose to respond at all. And Mr. Bhat of Godrej makes tall claims with the media that Godrej has a guaranteed response within 48 hours. Maybe he does not know that his service provider in Dindigul is cheating Godrej customers and recycling old and defective parts at exorbitant prices. Was this information helpful? | |||
