[Resolved]  HDFC Bank — Insurance misselling fraud by HDFC Bank Branch Manager, L.K. Tower, Jodhpur, - Mr. Deepak Agrawal.

Dear Sir,
Writing you this complaint as under in hope to get justice.

Mr. Deepak Agrawal has sold AVIVA policies to me, my family (policy no’s JSG1731501, WLG1803629, WLG1803649 and WLG1804183.)and many other banking customers as single premium, taking blank forms signed by us on behalf of faith and good banking relations and then have cheated us by doing regular premium policies for such high premium.

He has later confirmed on email being certainly a single premium policy (proof attached) and for last 5 months he is saying have talked to AVIVA for cancellations but nothing is being done as yet. On recently visiting AVIVA office with him he also confirmed verbally for mis-selling of policies to AVIVA officials.

I have put a complaint thrice to AVIVA but they denied saying not their company fault and this is agency fault and so I can complaint to CBOP (now HDFC) as Mr. Deepak Agrawal is their employee. I have written to HDFC bank many times in last days even to higher officials apart from Grivence cell, but there is no reply from them still and now they say the same language of freelook period as told by AVIVA. I don’t understand when all proofs are there why they don’t want to take any action against the manager. AVIVA and HDFC denies saying that freelook period was there. Insurance business is totally trust business in practical and 99% of all forms will be blank signed on good faith. But does this allow that fraud to be done and now when open not just with one person but many persons cheated and still corporates dont take any action to give relief. AVIVA is worried as commissions have been paid to CBOP which then merged to HDFC and also their agency tie up broke and therefore since commissions paid they cannot cancel the policy and bear losses. If the commissions are returned to them they will surely cancel the policies.

Does freelook period gives confirmation to fraud done with many persons and no action later been taken by Bank against its fraudulent employee and to give relief to suffering customers. Why both HDFC and AVIVA does not even mention of email proof as Mr. Deepak Agrawal clearly accepts it as single premium policy in that. Why cant a corporate matter with AVIVA officials be taken by HDFC to have all suffering persons policies cancelled. There are many policies of AVIVA and many complaining persons. Myself 4 policies as above, Mr. Mahendra Singhvi, Mr. Ajeet Golecha, Mr. Hargobind Tevani, Mr. Vivek Arora, Mr. Dhiraj Jangid, Mr. Rameshwar Sharma, Mr. Shatrudhan Sharma, Mr. Veer Singh Borana etc. Same way of fraud with all, explaining single premium policy and blank forms got signed from all on basis of faith and good banking relation and then cheated by doing regular premium policies. Most of the persons have AVIVA policies and Mr. Veer Singh Borana had HDFC standard life policy. On can be wrong, two can be wrong but are all above persons cheated similar way complaining wrong… Why both HDFC and AVIVA says nothing on this ? What does this show by so many similar frauds from same branch and same person? Isnt this enough proof to show clear malafied intentions of the branch manager for his personal gains/ promotions?

Suspicious and amazing decision of HDFC - Mr. Veer singh borana’s policies are cancelled even after freelook period of 15 days (as can be verified from records also) and rest all others are still suffering. Is this decision by HDFC just because HDFC standard life is same corporate sister concern and all others are outside tie up being policies of AVIVA. Why this differential view by HDFC bank.? Why cant they return the commissions to AVIVA which is major concern of AVIVA and get all our policies cancelled in the same way. If HDFC takes matter with AVIVA they will surely cancel policies and HDFC should charge its fraudulent employee.

Can a fraud be done so easily in this way by corporates? Make a tie up, sell fraudulently for good faithful banking relations as banking is a totally trust business, and then break tie up and say freelook period. Seeing so easy frauds in this way as it happened with us, should a bank be allowed to sell insurance as banking is total trust business? Now its crystal clear with many persons cheated why HDFC should not take any action against its employee and take up matter with AVIVA to have the relief solution to customers.

Seeing this fraud giving so much metal harassment to all, kindly bind the bank to take up the matter at corporate level with AVIVA, canceling all such policies and returning full money to customers and also take stringent penal action against Mr. Deepak Agrawal. A bank branch manager for his personal gains can do such frauds is a real shame act. Can a banking person and that too a branch manager be allowed to do such frauds for his personal gains / promotions? On the basis of faith no body has the right to do fraud and seeing him as a branch manager this totally unprofessional ethics and wrong attitude, Mr. Deepak Agrawal should be heavily penalized to avoid such cases in future. In future no banking persons should be allowed to cheat customers like this as banking business is totally a trust business.

Also questionable is that when so many cheated persons are complaining against same person, why HDFC is trying to save Mr. Deepak Agrawal and giving him time to leave bank and then it will say that he was ex-employee so we cannot take action against him. Bind the bank not to have Mr. Deepak Agrawal go away till the case is fully investigated. Fraudulent person got a good personal benefit / promotions for fraud done and cheated customers are running and complaining AVIVA/ HDFC for justice. Should customers be treated this way?

I will request you to probe into the matter very seriously and take serious action against corporates allowing justice to all cheated customers.

Hereunder is the email proof as by written by Mr. Deepak Agrawal.

Dear Sandeep,

Kindly check with AVIVA on priority, this was certainly a single premium product...if not then kindly take a letter from cust. and get this changed.
