Sub: Harassment by HSBC non existing Credit card

I had applied at Bangalore for an HSBC credit card almost a year back on September 2007 and they tried to deliver the credit card on two occasions to my office address. But since I was not available at my office it was returned. This was informed to me by a Tele banking representative. After that they never got in touch with me and I also have forgot about the entire episode.

I tried to contact HSBC phone banking centre, but they said they are unable to help me as I did not have a card number. I asked them to search for any information with my name, but this request was turned down.

Form Feb 2008 I am getting calls to my office number form HSBC collection agencies executives for payments of the card number [protected]. I was shocked to for that. I immediately called HSBC customer care and I had given a complaint against to this. That time I came to know this card was with name and but that reaming information is not matched.

They informed to me the bank will investigate the case and they may given to me a proper resolution but instead of doing investigation that keep calling and send collection agencies executives to my communication address for payments. HSBC collection agencies executives without taking my consent they go to my residence address harassed and misbehave and collected amount by cash from my mother. Same thing I had given complaint 22nd Feb 2008 to HSBC Customer care and send an email to regarding this but no response.

I am not at all comfortable calling executives in my name for a non existent card. Even they can’t show me the single statement for that card number. Every month those collection executives outside of my office harassed, blackmailing and misbehave and collect the payment for that card. 3 to 4 times they created nuisance and collected my bank cheques and sometimes they taken cash from my pocket. They are looks like “guddas”

Nearly 3 to 4 times I had given the complaint on this in HSBC Bank, MG Road, Bangalore. No response to my mails and my letters this went on for the next four months. After that they never got in touch with me and I also have forgot about the entire thing.

Again last two weeks I am getting calls from one of women regarding this card number. She say’s I am from HSBC Collection Manger you have a card from HSBC its outstanding amount is Rs.182, 000/- . I am really surprise on this. I asked her to send a letter to regarding this so that I can go-ahead consumer forum and file against on this. I need to resolve the problem at the earliest. But she is taking very rudely and may not inform her name and keep calling and harassment to me and my family numbers. I am getting calls from[protected], 41128033, 91-[protected]. I wanted to know why this is happening. I am really speaking for my salary I am not eligible for that credit limit.

I have lost a lot of time and money on calling to HSBC Customer care again and again. I could not convince myself for paying the disputed amounts, which were fraudulently transacted. I also could not take their harassment done through sms, dozens of threat phone calls- means of corporate terrorism. I launched complaints to Reserve Bank of India that regulates all bank in the country.

I am going a lodge complaint in RBI and police. If necessary action is not taken I will involve media as well. Your immediate action will be appreciated.

I hope you will understand my present position and help me in this regard to get rid of this situation and resolve the problem at the earliest!

HSBC — Calls to Pay against non-existant Credit Card

Dear HSBC,

I have recieved call
from Pravesh singh from the number[protected] stating that he is calling from noida sector-16. He also told me that i hold a HSBC credit card no [protected], which has a outstanding of 24000 Rs.

I have contacted HSBC Helpline and found that the Credit card no does not exist.

I also never had such a credit card.

Please contact me immediately at [protected] immediately. Or at
Samir Barua, C/O g.P barua, %, Deshapriya Park Rd. kolkata-26.

Please stop harassment for a non-existant Credit Card.

HSBC Credit Card — Unnecessary harrasment for non existent payment

I was holding a card of HSBC ([protected]) and asked for a balance transfer of RS 15000 about one and half years ago. The DD they sent me didn’t reach me. I called up HSBC and also informed them through my online account about the situation.

Even though I informed that I didn’t receive the DD, The HSBC India people started sending me bills from the next month. Now the situation is that the amount has been increased to 32000 adding late fees and finance charges.

When I contact them they ask me to fill indemnity bond. Why shall I fill anything when they are at fault. It is their DD and they must know that it has not been used, so why cant they cancel that.

They are calling me for payment everyday; the payment which is practically I haven’t used.

I am employed with Everest Industries Limited having office at Mumbai. In or about Feb 2006, your marketing representative visited my Thane office and gave demo for the usage features of your card. While I was inquiring about the features of your card, your marketing representative obtained my signatures on some forms and obtained some documents from me for purpose of noting my name as “interested member” for filling inquiry form. Subsequently your Bank Credit Card bearing No[protected] was posted to me at my office address.

I say that without my using your card, your Bank sent me statement for Rs.210/-.approximately. I say that I immediately called your customer care number putting forth my grievance and called upon them to cancel my card and terminate services with immediate effect. I also called upon them to sent me letter for “No claim”, to which they showed their inability and stated that same is granted only in case where there is any dispute above Rs.1000/-, however they assured me that card is cancelled and services are terminated. I say that subsequent thereof, I have not received any statement from your bank till date.

I say that from last about 15 days, I am receiving sms from your bank for payment of Rs.4570/- towards aforesaid credit card pending bills. I had never imagine of such conduct from Big Banking Corporation like yours. I say that without usage of your services, how can I be made and forced to pay charges levied by you. I put forth my grievances with your customer care at Ram Maruti Rd branch, Thane who showed their inability to locate my bills and pending dues. They were also unable to provide me any Bank statement though I was ready and willing to bear the cost for same. I say that I also spoke to Mr.66667070 of your Bank collection centre at Mumbai,[protected] who responded to me rudely as if I am bring defaulter / criminal. I say that thereafter I spoke to your Delhi Recovery Cell at Telephone No[protected]/45023968 with Mr.Basant, who was also not able to resolve to my problem or provide me statisfactory reply.

The said act of your to grab heavy & exorbitant amount from me for no fault of mine speaks of your volumes and attitudes to procure money by adhering to illegal means & making trap for the innocent customers like me.

I am therefore now constrained to put forth my grievance in writing for necessary action and resolution of my grievance. Request you please look into this matter and advise what should be my next step.

HSBC — Harrassment for a non-existent Credit Card

Out of the blue, in Jan I received a Credit Card Bill Statement from HSBC for Rs 3309. The charges were some annual fee for a credit card. I dont have a HSBC Credit Card, and hence have not made any transactions on their credit card. Now every month I get a late payment fee bill plus 10 calls a day from HSBC Call Centr asking to pay up
1. For a credit card I never asked to have
2. For a credit card I have not received
