[Resolved]  ICICI Bank - ATM — Lost Rs 1000/- due to link failure-ATM

Dear Sir,

a) On 26th Oct.09 I have lost Rs 1000/- from my a/c in ICICI ATM counter(counter no-11) in Bhubaneswar due to link failure.

b) Now bank itself is denying the fact desparately & not cooperating at all to get my money back.

c) Instead of giving phone no gave me fax no,when everyone could connect over phone they said unable to contact,

d) Send mail nodal officer many times & got reply-we acknowledge receipt of your communication.we will attend to your mail prompltly & revert to you within 2 working days but never replied.

e) Always from Mumbai office said transaction was successfull,money can't be reversed to the a/c without providing right bank proof or documents to me.

f) Is this the transparency & customer dealing ?

g) Who will solve this problem & help me to get my hard earned money back?

Dear Sir,

Send mail to Nodal Officer:

I Shri Pabitra Kumar Maji holding account no[protected], debit card no-[protected] and complain no[protected] wants to state that on 26.10.05 at 12-17 p.m . used my ATM card to draw Rs 1000/- from your ATM NO-11 in Bhubaneswar.But before the completion of transaction (withdrawl)there was a link failure.{On the screen –“Is being processed…….” Was showing}.Immediately I told this to the security named Jatindra Rath.He told me not to worry and after relink you go for another processing.so, accordingly I went for transaction and withdrawl Rs 1000/-.After that I took a mini statement and found instead of one time deduction of Rs 1000/- it has deducted Rs 2000/-(i.e.Rs 1000/-*2 times).
As per security man’s advice after another customer’s transaction, he asked me to withdraw Rs 100/- and check the mini statement (12.22p.m.).But there was no change in the balance statement.He then asked me to leave for 2-3 hrs. and come for mini statement to check the balance.At 17.13 p.m.I took the mini statement, but there was no change by this time also.
He(security)then asked me to check it after 24 hrs., but the same was repeated.Then I went to the bank(ICICI bank at Shreya Square in Bhubaneswar) & through the no-[protected] I launched a complain & they gave me the complain no[protected] & told that after 7 working days Rs 1000/- which was wrongly deducted due to link failure will be credited to my account.
On 30th Oct.09 at 5.01pm I received a message through the no-[protected] that “we are unable to reverse the transaction as it has been fully paid as per our records”.At that time I was out of Bhubaneswar & was not carrying all the docs.& debit card.So I could not contact immediately after getting the message.
On 1st of Nov.09 I also sent a mail through customer.[protected]@icicibank.com & received a mail that they will reply by 11th Nov.09 but on 4th received the same message“we are unable to reverse the transaction as it has been fully paid as per our records”..I also met branch manager Ms Kirti for the same.She assured me that within 7 days money will be credited to my account & gave me a phone no[protected] but to my surprise she gave me the fax no(I tried many times that no & came to know that she had given me the fax no) If you are not taking this issue seriously it would compel me to take legal steps.

According to the revert of the complaint received we understand that the transaction has been verified and found to be fully paid and successful as per our records.

Replied;

Dear Mr.Indulgar,
a)I hope you could not understand the complain launched & its cause,
b)Both the transactions are shown fully paid on the account statements which is not correct,
c)The first transaction of Rs 1000/-was not paid to me due to link failure but it is shown paid in the mini statement(which is my complain),
d) My complain is that I have not received the money due to link failure, but your ATM team says it is fully paid. Where is the money gone ? Who is the culprit?
e) i. You should maintain transparency with customers. When everybody else could contact me over phone, only you people are unable to do so which I think is a sheer bluff.
ii. Your bank manager instead of helping the customer, knowingly gave fax no to avoid the situation(although she promised that Rs 1000/- will be credited to my account after she talked to the ATM team in front of me in the bank).
f)Is this the transparency & dealings you maintain with your customers?For your further informations I also maintain debit cards of other banks for many years.But this type of fraud incident never happened to me.
g) We are waiting for the ICICI nodal officer’s reply from Mumbai, after that I will take necessary steps.
