[Resolved]  ICICI Bank — Salary account

I had two savings accounts in ICICI opened (almost 7-8 years back) one at Kanchipuram, TN and one at Chembur, Mumbai. This was with a zero balance account facility extended to defence personnel. On retirement (2003), one account was closed and other one was transferred to BTM branch, Bangalore. With out any instruction from my side, this account was converted into Salary account by the bank, though it was a jpint acount (It was never been salary account, not even for once, salary was credited in last 7-8 years). As per Bank's rule, Rs.10000.00 is the minimum balance required to be maintained in a quarter and due to the reason not being maintained, Bank has deducted Rs. 843.00 from my account as charges called as QAB. I met the Branch Manager who agreed to reverse this amount. Same day (Jan 24/2009) I deposited Rs. 10000.00 by a local cheque in to my account. When this was not credited into my account, again I went to the bank on 3rd Jan, they said, account is freezed and cheque has been returned by the courier on 28th of Jan. They had no details of courier available even after 7days of its despatch. Now to re activate this account, I have to do all the formalities including providing our photos, address proof, Id proof etc. Now,
1. How Bank had converted this to Salary account with out such instruction from me?
2. Why this was not intimated to me?
3. Why they deducted QAB?
4. Why my account was freezed (last transaction was done 5-6 months ago)?
5. Why my cheque was not honoured and it is returned with out intimtion and where it is know?
6. Why I have to do all the formalities to re activate the a/c?
Will some one from ICICI satisfy me with right reply?

ICICI Bank — Salary Account Not activated after 8 days

Hi
I have opened a salary account on 27th April 09 in ICICI bank Kakakkanad branch, kerala But after 8 days my account has not activated, kindly do the needufl.

I have a Salary Account with ICICI Bank in Green Park Branch, Account was opened in the year 2008. Since September I am using that account for funds receiving or transfering sometimes. Suddenly got the news that i am geeting huge charged for this account . THIS IS ALL DONE WITHOUT ANY COMMUNICATION TO ME (NO SMS OR EMAIL FOR THE TRANSACTION). HOW CAN THE BANK CARRY OUT A TRANSACTION WITHOUT EVEN INFORMING THE CUSTOMER?
