[Resolved]  ICICI Bank — Wrong Fund Transfer

Hi All,

I had mistakenly Trasferd Money from my account to Unknown Person (Want to transfer to my Friends account But mistakenly Transfered to that Unknown Person) On the same day i send the mail to ICICI CC(customer Care) as well called up CC and informed that i had a made mistake but CC told me that you have to visit your home Branch and need to give written application.On the next day i have submitted application in home brach with allbelow details.The Manager replied me that he will send this request to Andheri Brach Where that Unknow person hold the account .It s almost on and hlaf month is over but i have not received my money, I called three times in the bank manager replied me he already forwarded my Compliant to concern branch they have not replied. Need your help...

I have also made the same mistake... and going through the same pain with the branch manager...

Did you get any solution for this...

I am going through this pain for an year now. I did the same mistake as you have done. I have written n number of emails but all in vain. the ICICI CC does not respond properly. they will ask you to contact the branch for details.
I will suggest you to walk to your home branch and get in touch with the manager. ask him the details of the A/c where you have transfer the amount wrongly. so that you can contact the person himself by phone and let him know about what has happened.
since you have mentioned that you have already written the application to the bank informing them about the issue.
the bank now will send a letter to the person in whose a/c the money was transfer wrongly. the bank must have already blocked the amount so he will not be able to use the same. the person needs to sign the consent letter and hand it over to his home branch who will return the consent letter to your branch.

also try to send a register letter to the Corp Office letting them know about the issue
hi i too did the same mistake but now the bank people are saying tht they will call the customer if he accepts to revert they will do tht otherwise i hav to loose the money but contact numbers of the customer are not valid thts my new proble please post if any one gets solution to this problem
I think there is some missing dots in the reported incedent. As per my personal experience bank always matches account no. with account holders name before completing the transaction.

I transferred from my ICICI Noida account to IDBI Hyderabad account. By mistake I entered incorrect account number. When I approached bank they told me that it will take roughly a week to revert. They never credit the amount unless account holder's name and account number mentioned in the transaction are matched.

In my case the wrong account holder was with different name so funds never credited in his account. It took around a week when i got my funds back in account.

me that the fund is lying in B2 account & he suggested me to go to
the nearest branch with ID prood and application so as to talk to the
cutomer support executive in this respect.When
i went to the ICICI Bank, Sec-61, Noida branch and mate with the
Executive/Manager, he told me that B2 account is an online internet
account to which we can't open/check in the branch. Therefore he
suggested
me to talk to the customer care representative because customer care
representative can only open said account to have the refund.Further,
i have already sent three mails and also spoken so many times with
customer care representative and visited nearest branch as well where as
i am ill since last one week.Also
I am regulary asked to submit the proof in nearest branch where as i am
having salary account since last 13 years with your bank.Therefore,
you are again requested to get my fund refund in my account ASAP and

Please provide the details of the transaction - BIL/00152xxxxxxx/September2018rent/NSP which I did on 1st September 2018.
As the person who was supposed to receive it haven't received the amount.
Also please tell me the account number to which it was transferred.

Poor service of ICICI bank regarding the online transfer. I've done the transfer of INR 30, 000 accidentally to the wrong account no. (Just difference of the last one digit), however, the name was correct.

How could they transfer the amount without proper account details? mean the receiver name was totally different. ICICI bank customer service clear that it's your mistake and we can't do anything.

I just forget the same and switch my account into HDFC. If anyone gets the feedback please, let me know as undersigned.
