I am writing to formally raise a concern regarding an unpleasant experience I had at your ICICI Bank branch located in Chennai – 600082, on 07th August 2025.
I visited the branch following a customer care call-related issue, seeking assistance and clarification. However, instead of receiving help, I was met with unprofessional and unacceptable behavior from the branch staff.
Specifically:
I explained my concern to the Branch Manager, Ms. Nisha, and mentioned that if no support could be provided, I would consider closing my accounts with ICICI Bank.
To my shock, Ms. Nisha responded roughly, accompanied by inappropriate words.
Another branch staff member also spoke rudely and insisted that I visit my home branch, stating they would not assist me further.
The situation escalated when security staff intervened and asked me to leave, in a threatening manner.
I did not retaliate or act aggressively. I simply stated my intention to have my issue resolved and exited the branch.
Later, I was informed that customers are allowed to approach any ICICI branch for service-related issues — which contradicts what I was told at the branch.
This experience was deeply disappointing. As a loyal customer, I expect a basic level of respect, empathy, and professionalism from your staff. I urge the bank and the HR team to:
Investigate this matter seriously.
Provide staff training to ensure customer concerns are handled calmly and professionally.
Consider necessary disciplinary actions where required.
