[Resolved] ICICI Bank, Tardeo Branch — Deduction against minimum balance requirement | |
My Saving account number[protected]. I am holding this saving account with ICICI Bank Tardeo branch for over 2 years. That time the min balance required was Rs 5000/- which i have been maitaining. The account however was unoperated for almost 18 months. During this course the bank would have increased the min balance requirement to Rs. 10,000/-. Snce I keep touring for my work the increase in min balance information skipped my attention till one day in July'2009 I got an SMS 1st time stating my account balance is approx. 1900/- which stuck my mind that I had Rs. 5000/- than how it has come down to below 2000/- So I enquired with the bank who told me this. Ms. Phiroza in the branch told me to give an application for consideration to the branch manager which i did but till date I have no response from the bank. I did receive a call twice from Phiroza and one more person stating that if i am making some more investment in form of insurance than they are willing to consider. My request is that if the account is unoperated for a long period the account is freezed for security reason than how can they charge penalty. I understnd that if i am using the services and not maintaining the balance they will charge, but here i have not operated the account for over 8 months than how can the bank charge. The nationalised banks min balance requirement till date is R. 5000/- only than too these pvt. banks are demanding higher min balance amount Please help me to reverse the penalty charges.
