[Resolved] ICICI — Funds transfer problem | |
REF: Complaint number[protected] I initiated a funds transfer from my savings a/c (branch: Nungambakkam/Chennai) to some account no in SBI through internet banking and very quickly we realized that there is no such account number existing in SBI and so an invalid account number. But the amount has been immediately debited from my account and I lodged a complaint against this with ICICI bank/Chennai. Given an invalid/non-existing recipient account number, it is much ethical that sender bank is supposed to credit the amount back to the customer at the earliest since the amount cannot hang in the air. I am at the moment away from India and I have been spending a lot of ISD calls speaking to ICICI to sort the issue out but unfortunately none of them is giving a positive response on this. I have been a loyal/prospective customer with them since 8 years and this is the return i am getting back from them, just playing with customer's hard earned money. Also one of the customer service persons has called up my father (who is a busy advocate in chennai high court) and asked him to speak to SBI branches. How can they do this? How come they can expect the customers to do the investigation when they are supposed to investigate and answer us? Now, i really regret to say that I am a customer of ICICI. Last week, I managed to get one Mr.Venkatesh (floor manager) on phone and he promised me that they will do all the investigations soon and get back to us crediting the money back. But unfortunately, it hasn't happened yet and today morning, I again spoke to one Mr.Srikanth (floor manager) and he has promised me to revert back to us soon. So, keeping my fingers crossed, i have been waiting to get back my money soon. If the service continues to be bad & bad, what is the answer to all the prospective ICICI customers who have been trusting the bank. I want my money back at the earliest finally.
