[Resolved]  ICICI Lombard General Insurance — 'ICICILom=[protected]' Insurance Claim for Motor Car Esteem DL2CR6750

On 19th November, I met with a small accident by jumping on to a road divider, while saving a sudden appearance of a bullock cart on Rama Road opp. SBI Najafgarh Road Branch, due to which my car got damaged underneath.
I was surprised to learn from the surveyor that the claim was not entertain able as he was not supposed to entertain any claim if the damaged part or its connected portions were corroded.
In spite of my explanation, submission of facts and several complaints, reproduced below, the company has not bothered to reply except acknowledging my 1st mail.
All relevant documents viz., Policy, Estimate were submitted to Surveyor through A.M.Automobiles & to the company via e-mail on the 1st day itself.

Dear Sir,
1. I am getting all my insurance policies from ICICI Lombard.
2. My insurance policies include foreign travel for my self & my wife to united states ( 4 policies), Car Insurance for 2 cars for self & my son for the last more than 2 years, my home insurance etc.
3. I have paid more than 60-70 thousand as insurance premium in addition to premium paid by my other family members.
4. Neither my self nor my family members have ever claimed for any eventuality.
5. On 19th November, I met with a small accident by jumping on to a road divider, while saving a sudden appearance of a bullock cart on Rama Road opp. SBI Najafgarh Road Branch, due to which my car got damaged underneath.
6. I reported the matter to A.M.Automobiles who called the surveyor Mr. Mukesh Setia of Mukesh Setia & co.
7. I was surprise to learn from him that the claim was not entertain able as the apron had corroded no external damage appeared except the broken side light etc. I fail to understand his logic on the following grounds.
• Any car which has been used for more than 4 to 5 years will definitely get corroded underneath to some extent. If so no such car should be insured since not covered.
• The car which gets jumped by hitting to divider will not have any external damages especially when all the tyres are brand new. My car was thoroughly checked by A.M.Automobiles in about 2 months back during paid service and no damage of any such nature was noted/pointed out to me. Thus the damaged caused to my car is only because of hitting and jumping on the divider of the road.
• I feel very sad and disappointed by the baseless comments given by your surveyor that he can not allow the claim as will be rejected by insurance co.

Please note that I have left my car at the A.M.Automobiles and request your immediate approval failing which I will have no option but to discontinue all my dealings with ICICI Lombard and associate companies due to loss of faith and trust.
In the mean time I am giving my car to A.M.Automobiles for going ahead with the repairs.

Please not that I am not interested to have any of your explanations on the matter, as the same will be only waste of our mutual time and energy in avoidable correspondence, but a positive attitude & response.

For your ready reference I attach herewith the copy of policy and A.M.Automobiles estimate with surveyor’s comment.

Dear Sir,
I fail to understand your poor response & action when matter of motor claim.
Already more than 1 week has lapsed but action from your end is still pending.
Please note that my car was serviced at A.M.Automobiles on 29.09.2010 & at mileage of 61026 & delivered to them at mileage of 61565 on 02.12.2010.
The car was thoroughly checked by A.M.Automobiles on 29.09.2010 and optimum road trial was conducted since break system was overhauled.
In view of the above the lame excuse made by your surveyor for rejecting claim tantamount to fraud by the company and therefore will force me to take up the matter with consumer forum.
I hope you will please avoid such situation especially when I have paid more than 60-70 thousand as premium against various policies without any claims.

ICICI Car Insurance — Claim Pending without any response

My car met with an accident and ICICI sent their representative at the Garage to survey. AFter survey no one fom ICICI has called and on calling ICICI NO one in the company knows the status of my Claim. If you wnat a New Policy you will get calls every 5 minutes but if you want to make a CLAIM then tehy wont even pick your phone for years I believe.

I think Goverment Firms like "New India Assurance" are more Professional then Private Sector FU... UP firms like ICICI...Wake Up ICICI...
