ICICI Personal Loan — Dual EMI deducted on same date.

Dear Sir,

Self had taken a personal loan of Rs.2,46,000/- in Oct 2007 (Loan A/c# LPTNE[protected]), had been regularly paying through ECS mode(from my ICICI Bank Savings Account) with ECS date on 05th of every month. Have noticed that a couple of times if the balance is not enough then whatever balance I have in my account gets deducted without my consent. In present case my August ecs got delayed due to shortage of funds & finally it got deducted on 31’st Aug after I had deposited some amount on 29th Aug. But the problem here is that ECS debit was made twice the same day(Cheque No.:AREQ3037295 Receipt No. AREQ3037295 & Cheque No.:AREQ3038906 Receipt No.AREQ3038906) that means next months debit was made on 31st Aug 2009. How can ICICI bank make an ECS debit 1week earlier than agreed date. Also I had a balance of Rs.890 out of which I can see that Rs.848 has been deducted on Sept2009 as a partial ECS deduction I don’t know for which month…. What I mean to say is that how can ICICI Bank allow ICICI Personal Loan Desk to use my money as per their wills & fancies without my consent. I have a Home Loan & I had a similar case wherein had problem in paying my EMI for a particular month but they just added up interest which I paid the next month but they never deducted the existing amount from my savings account. Self addressed this issues to ICICI Bank vide mail dt: 15th Sept09 asking for an apology but got a delayed response that too was not proper however after so many reminders ICICI Bank finally raised a service request#SR[protected] on 14th Nov09 & said they will revert to me with updated status shortly but I never got a revert…just messages saying that we will revert you shortly giving time deadlines & never replying in time, after sending 2-3reminders they used to tell us that we will revert shortly…in short just passing the ball & taking no responsibility for the mistake/error committed.

Then I had an ICICI Collection department officer named Mr.Nilesh Phalke visiting my residence on 12th Dec09, self had asked for ID Card/employment proof which he did not have so i did not allow him to enter my home so he let me speak to one of his bank official named Mr.Manish Sarang(Employee ID#172405). After speaking to Mr.Manish Sarang self allowed the collection officer to enter my house. We discussed about my problem for more than an hour for which he verbally accepted that mistake has been committed by ICICI Bank ECS Dept of deducting my EMI twice the same day in August, one EMI was deducted 7days prior to the agreed date & one partial EMI was deducted almost 3wks prior to agreed date.(As explained in statements provided to you in earlier mails). Self had asked him to give the same in writing & to give an apology for this mistake committed from ICICI Bank however he explained that this was beyond his authority for which self told him to check with his senior officials for which he said he will do & will revert to me on this. He also promised me to offer a deal to settle my personal loan my Monday i.e. 14th Dec09. But as usual I did not get any call on 14th Dec09…but got a call on 16th Dec09 afternoon for which we agreed to meet in the evening & discuss on this however later did not get any call from Mr.Nilesh Phalke. Just to conclude I had told the collection department officer that self is ready to settle my loan account with ICICI Bank provided that I get an apology letter from ICICI Bank for which am pleading with ICICI Bank for past 2months but still no action. Had addressed this update also to ICICI Bank on 21st Dec09 however they did not take any action.After several mails & reminders I finally got Apology letter (incomplete soft copy vide mail seems like a forged document) from ICICI bank on 19th Feb2010 & was promised that they will send me hard copy asap but I did not get the hard copy. Later they kept saying that it has been sent to ICICI Dombivli Branch but I never got it…then they cooked up a story that its been sent at my residence address but I have still not got it. Finally On 20th March10 for a mail from Mr.Sukanta Mandal saying that total due amount is Rs.52,510/- without any additional interest or bouncing charges for this period which I duly paid on 24th March10 also was confirmed by him that they will be sending me the original apology letter vide courier.

Sorry to inform but till date have not received any courier, I have stopped paying further EMI & have confirmed in writing to ICICI Bank that self will not pay any further EMI till I get the hard copy of apology letter for which they have no reply. I had strongly fought with ICICI on these issues & had addressed every problem with them in black & white, even issues like collection officers calling, threatening & using abusive languages(I have kept some mobile recording’s with these abusive languages used against me)….still these things are on & no improvement on that by ICICI Bank. I have more than 150 mails sent to them on this issue.

With this kind of experience with ICICI Bank am sure I will in front to do negative marketing for ICICI as they have no morals/values towards their customers.

Dear ICICI Bank Customer Service Team,

Had received smilar revert on mails sent by me earlier however yet awaiting a solution, now have received a message on my personal id that you will revert to me by 04th September 2010 on my complaint, till you revert would request you to instruct your collection department not to harass me or threaten me on phone since now ball is in your court & you have to revert to me with a solution to the issue.

On this saturday i.e 14th Aug 2010 Mr.Prakash Jadhav from your collection department had called me asking for the clearence of dues however had told him that i am not interested to talk to him & i[censored]rgent he can send me a mail in this regard as i will reply to it immediately since he had used abusive language against me last time.

Hope to receive hard copy of apology letter at the earliest to settle this issue.

Just to add in...ICICI Bank is very very poor in handling issues related to customer's problems.
