[Resolved]  Ignou — Failure of Ignou BCA students

Alright, the majority out here seem like disgruntled students, who would have passed their exams had they not been complaining so much.

The reason you are not passing is YOU ARE NOT STUDYING! If you CLAIM that you have studied hard, then on a forum like this no one can PROVE it, can they? If you studied smartly then you would have certainly cleared the exams.

Just because you are enrolled in an open university does not mean you will be granted marks out of "favour". You will also not qualify just because you have been enrolled for X number of years. It is graduation course and you have to STUDY. IGNOU course is designed for students who cannot attend regular college due to various circumstances. It gives you a FLEXIBLE mode to achieve your goal for pursuing higher education. It DOES NOT mean the course or the examination is easier than other universities.

For those of you who haven't read the prospectus before getting enrolled in the university, or claimed that it is going to close down or who have claimed that IGNOU degrees are not recognised etc.- Do us all a favour and educate yourself instead of misinforming others. The university was created from the central act - The IGNOU Act of 1985. It is also recognised by the UGC. Several court cases have been won in favour of the students who have IGNOU degrees against employers who had solely disqualified the candidates based on the degree. Since you are evidently on the net, you can check these facts for yourself.


I have successfully completed BCOM from IGNOU within the stipulated time, and ICAI also recognises my degree. As for the exams it were tough and the invigilators were strict while conducting it, far better than many other universities and colleges were copying is rampant. I had no problems throughout my course from admission procedure, assignment submission, delivery of course material, receiving my mark sheet/certificate, and the timely manner in which my queries were answered by teachers/admin.


So for those who are complaining - get a reality check and have a deep and hard look at yourself. Introspection is the key word here.

Actually sir, presently I m in 7th semester. I had to give Supplementary exm of math3 (cs-204)

Which was on 9-jan-2009.



I was well prepared for that exm..when I reached for exm..there was no roll-no of mine in roll-no list..



Then my sitting plan was adjusted with 4th semester regular students…. And the duty teacher gave me examination paper of 4th sem..(regular)



Sir, by mistake I had done regular exm..its code is math3 (AM-201).





When I come out from examination hall and discuss the Exam Paper with other Colleagues then I got this information that I had done wrong exm..then sir, I talked to Exam superintendent .He said he can't do any thing now….He said you talked to your principal mam….And that time she was buzy..and she didn't meet me..




Sir its my humble request to you that please take my exm as regular. I will be really thankful to you for this act of kindness..

IGNOU — Problem in finding job

I did my B com through IGNOU in 2005 after completing BPP Course of IGNOU on age basis. And also i did my Regular MBA from institute affiliated to reputed University on basis of merit. But now i finding it difficult to fetch a job in MNC or good companies as they persist on 10 + 2 + 3 education. As Bpp is not equivalent to +2. I feel betrayed by perciving Higher education

I too absolutely agree with ur statement...100% it is right whatever you have said.

Hello sir,
i am prepaid user and my no. is [protected]. Today I wanted to use my idea lifetime sim, when I inserted it in my mobile it showed a message "Registration failed" and not showing any network coverage. The sim is not working although it is lifetime.
If I want to again use this no. what will have to do.

I myself have taken the exam of CS 60 course five times but could not clear it. However my all other courses are cleared only because of my regular study. But as far as CS60 is concerned I haven't studied it well and that so, is back. So I have no reason to say that IGNOU doesn't have a proper evaluation system. OK. agree that It is almost tougher program comparatively to other University's BCA. Here I think IGNOU provides quality learning to its students.

IGNOU's evaluation is a joke. We haven't started studying for the first time in our lives. All o[censored]s have studied at least for 12 years in school. If we were an average student in school and got 70 out of 100, in IGNOU we will get 2 marks more than the passing marks, and sometimes marks like 9 or 10. And if we got 40 to 60 in school, then there is no hope of passing IGNOU. That's not because the course or question papers are super difficult. It's because of IGNOU's strange marking. With IGNOU it's not a give and take between the students and the teachers. It's only take and take- taking from people's taxes, taking from students' fees and taking away students' time and their future. This isn't the way the world works. IGNOU is a scam.

i am totally disagree with you guys, in my opnion " BCA" is a technical course and its a degree course, if you think in BCA you have to study like a school boy than you all guys are wrong, you people have to study for all technical courses such like BCA. IGNOU pattern of marking is wonderful, IGNOU's makes you perfect.Please ask yourself before taking the exam, that are you ready? if you think only 1 month study of 2 hours daily will get you wonderful marks, than you can't be success, its a technica course, and IGNOU has a minimum Syllabus pattern in it, you have study alot in it.If you think you can't study alot than leave this course and join some BA and so course.
IGNOU is tough no doubt but thats why it has got the value in the market.The average passing time of IGNOU BCA is 4 years, if you regularly study.
I personally have took CS-60 exam twice but i passed in second attempt because i hadn't study in first alot, during second time i studied for 10 hours a day, i succeeded perfectly without failed.
So you can conclude that you have to study daily for 2 hours atleast per day for 6 months and you will definatly passed it out.

What I feel about ignou is institution which is created to take away the money and the time from student. Once you have taken admission you are totally lost. You would not get any help from center. You need to attend practical classes. If we can attend practical classes then what is the point in taking admission in correspondence course.

The passing percentage of IGNOU is around 20 % over all because 50 % drop their studies because of frustration.

If some one is your enemy guide him to take admission in IGNOU. IGNOU should think about it otherwise there would be a day when no one will take admission in IGNOU.

Sir, I am one of the student of the BCA from IGNOU. And I am very much disappointed with my results of BCA. I am not getting the marks up to my satisfaction level. Now I am going to be 23 and my graduation is still incomplete. I really dont know what to do? My friends have completed their graduation and it has been 1 year past, but I am still undergraduate. Every time my exams was excellent but the result that i got every time, . it is not satisfactory. I always got back in the exams from 2-3 marks, I am really hopeless. Some time I feel like just quit all these. I am working for Lenovo. But my promotion is still pending because my graduation has not completed. Even my juniors are at higher post than me. I am the only person who earn for my family. Please sir give me proper satisfactory answer. And now the students who is taking admission in the year in the 2009, for them the passing % is 40 and for us its 50. This is not fair with us. Sir you tell me what do I do??? I had to left my first job from IBM just because of my back in exams.. Now I am very hopeless. Now also I got 33 marks in the Cs-70 exam, but the exam was good... Sir, please tell me what do I do? Do I need to quit this.. I am really hopeless... :-(

MY dear friends and fellow ignou BCA students ...
I am ignou student since 2005. and Iwould say IGNOU's Marking System suckss... I have failed in 5-6 subjects because of 2-5 marks... and i never used toapply for re-valuation . now some of my friends suggested to apply for revaluation iff my exam went well and result is not in accordance to it..
Friends for the first time I applied for revaluation in my july 2008 exam results ..whre I secured 24/60 and after revaluation it became 30/60 for 2 subjects.
can U believe i secured 35/ 70 marks in CS 60 (maths) and after revaluation it became 51 /70...
IMAGINE in a subject like maths increment of 16 marks which is more than 20% increase .
where as my orignal result showed that I had failed ...
more over one of our friend (MUNISH) above who said he agrees with IGNOU and giving GYAN to all o[censored]s to study 6-10 hrs a day ... I would like to ttell u my dear friend u have 6-10 hrs a day to studay that means u dont work and if[censored] dont work then join a regular course Y are u wasting yourself in corrospondance course.. IGNOU ki koi KHAAS value nahi hai market mein ..its just like any other corrospondance university . and by the way IGNOU was formulated cater working proffesionals who can attend classes only on weekends ...

This type of evaluation is not good for us. all the students who's pursuing in bca, they are getting down in his own life. to our evaluators...PLZ... don't evaluate like this

There is no doubt that ignou has a poor evaluation system. I am a student who devotes a lot of time for my studies but everytime when i get my grade card I'm totally dissapointed, I am fed up with this. The marks i get goes like this 24 or 26 out of 60, 33 or 34 out of 75, Imagine how you would feel, after months of hard work u fail in short of 3 or 4 marks! Wish i never had joined this course in the first place

ignou is providing us with maximum 8 years to complete this degree ! this is the greatest joke, we can't spent 8 years of our life giving exams.


Friends, there is simply one solution to our problems; ORGANIZE A PROTEST . Get some media attention, so that other students who are preparing to join the ignou think twice. Our country is a democratic one and everything is possible if we unite.

And one more thing No company is going to prefer us just because we got an" IGNOU "certificate, which we spent years to acquire. The students who joined ignou feels lost, no one to guide and the regional centers are of no use

Of course, I'm a example. I'm wasting my time, future, career for past 7 years. IGNOU is not wishing to go out their Computer course students. Basically I'm a diploma student, in past days(2000) no one giving bachelor degree course to diploma student. That's why I'm joining IGNOU. Evaluation, communication everything is worst in IGNOU. I'm a electronics student but I write computer organisation paper for 4 times. Everytime I lost it in just 2 or 3 marks. I never tried revaluation. But IGNOU wants more money from student, that's why revaluation result is more different from previous result. And everyone is never completing the course within the given duration. Every one is going for re-registration.
