[Resolved]  Indane LPG — Inspection of gass connection-behaviour of mechanic

We have Indane (Company) LPG connection bearing customer no.6420, with Sudheendera Gas Agencies (Agency), HBR Layout. On 04.10.08 one Mr. Nagesh visited our house with a letter from the Agency, stating that he wants to inspect the gas connection. We have refused the same as every couple of months some people or the other informing ‘he has been sent by the Company for inspection of Gas connection’ and you aware a lot o[censored]ntoward incidents happen now-a-days. In turn he behaved in very arrogant and uncultured manner and threatened that we have to face the dire consequences and he will lock the customer no. and will not supply gas refill/s henceforth. Then we have told him, he can inspect the connection, but he compelled us to replace gas tube as it is mandatory as per Company rules, which we have refused since the same was replaced 8 months ago and working in good condition. He repeatedly threatened and warned us that he will lock my customer no. thereby stop my supply.

I have never experienced all these years such an incident. I wish to share good and bad relationship with the Agency. Once I have complained the leakage of gas, they have replaced the cyliner promptly and on other occasion there was no proper supply of gas to my stove, which was complained to the Agency and in turn they have sent their mechanic to service the same. (Here I could have repaired the stove from an outside agent that I have not done). On the other hand, a year ago a person visited our house (in my absence) informing he is coming from the Company and insisted that he want to inspect the gas connection and just he replaced gas tube, which start breaking just after three months and need to be replaced with new tube.

We request the concerned the authorities to take necessary steps not to stop my supply. I would like to know is it mandatory to replace the gas tube whenever the mechanic comes for inspection, whether the same is good or bad condition.

I suggest the Company to instruct the Agency to send a notice/letter to the customer/s well in advance stating the particular day or between particular periods the authorized mechanic, along with the copy of the letter send to the customer and ID as well, will come and inspect the gas connection therby we can allow the mechanic to do his duty.

A copy of this email will be sent to the Company and Agency for their reference.

It's very bad experiences to me with same mandatory inspection by the agency. The guy did nothing to my connection, even do not enter into my kitchen and asked for 150 on the behalf of this agency inspection. This is totally SCAM by gas agencies... I am a customer of Shivalik gas agency sector 26, Chandigarh...

Indane Gas — is inspection mandatory?

15 days ago from local gas office a person came for inspection and demanded rs. 70 without providing any service. i want to know whether it is mandatory or not.and we are not allowed to refill our gas without the inspection.
i also want to know if any concession being provided by the company
A Handbill was served by so called representative from SANKAR GAS SERVICE, Sreenagar, Madhyamgram under the headings MANDATORY CHECKING.
The clauses on this kept 75/-(rupees seventy five ) only to be paid for checking as per guide line of Govt of India.
NOW I WANT TO KNOW THE AUTHENTICITY OF THIS CIRCULAR AS WELL AS THE GENUINITY OF THE REPRESENTATIVE OF SANKAR GAS SERVICE ON BEHALF OF INDANE GAS CO.
Please refer my complaint sent on 02/07/14 and comment on it
lpg mandatory check-up is very useful to consumer, in these check the mechanic check the all safety precaution and i[censored] have any doubt on safety usage on gas they will explain u clearly and thy clear your doubt, and mainly each consumer has to give the declaration they are following the proper safety precaution and their is no chance for lpg accident, in these mandatory check it proofs that
Safety audit of the domestic installations should be carried out once in every two years. Your distributor's trained mechanic carries out such an audit at your place. You need to pay a nominal charge of Rs. 75/- (Charge may Increase) to your distributor, for which a cash memo is issued to you. The mechanic carries an identity card with him confirming his identity as an authorized person from your distributor for carrying out such an inspection. Case of doubt, you may ask him to identify himself.
or call to your distributor oil company customer care no's

Same thing happen with me today some one from local gas office (arjun gas) a person called on my cell and asking for inspection and demanded rs. 75 . I refused the same as every couple of months some people or the other informing ‘he has been sent by the Company for inspection of Gas connection’. In turn he behaved in very arrogant and uncultured manner and says he will lock the customer no.
i want to know whether it is mandatory or not.and we are not allowed to refill our gas without the inspection.
i also want to know if any concession being provided by the company

again, that guy didnt give us even 1 day to let us talk shop where we bought that gas stove, but kept repeating our connection will be locked, who does that, i think only people and agency who wants to have money just for no service at all.
I have connection from Murali enterprises.

This person Visited me morning and said that my mandatory is inspection due in 2 years is pending. I told him that my inspection was done but I am unable to find the document. But he was rude and insisted on doing the inspection and took the charge of 150 Rupees causing stress to me and my wife early in the morning.

I had already gone through another inspection in the Month of September 2016. If this inspection is due or to be done once in 2 years I had this happening to me twice in 6 months which is certainly not a pleasant experience.
I am a consumer of HP Gas bearing consumer number 613281. Harish visited my home and said that he has to mandatory checks and I have pay 150 rs. Till now they dint do mandatory checks and we did not receive any notification from HP or Danish gas agency that they will be visiting to perform checks. Can you please clarify why we have to pay 150 rs. As per article, it says not to pay.

This inspection seems mandatory as per safety law I think from last 2 years, but ask inspector to provide ID proof and also the letter of inspection to avoid fake checks.

As per law they should send notice before inspection and as per schedule time only this inspection should happen. I have not clarity about charges, they asks 75 Rs. for inspection and if any additional components is to be replaced, that also have to pay by customer. But they are for sure charging higher price of components than the market price. This is bad thing.
now the mandatory inspection rate is 177/-
So did anyone here actually have their connection locked by the rude inspector fellow?
Gas agencies are cheating people on behest of gas company and govt. The representative of gas agency neither trained or permanent employees of gas agency. More they don't come with Instrument. How they can assure without any Instrument that every thing is perfect or not this can happen only in India. Please raise your voice through cpgram or pmo grievance portal.
Just now a guy from Indane Gas Agency came up to my home with the so called mandatory checkup and told to change the pipe knob and asked for the replacement money.

Also, the mandatory charges of Rs. 177/- excluding the knob charges were applied.

Can anyone bring this to the supreme notice?
This is just a way to fleece the consumer of his hard earned money.
The cylinder is the only item that is purchased from the oil company. The pipe connecting the cylinder to the stove and the stove is purchased by consumers from a third party.
The third party maintains the stove...Sometime the gas ranges and stoves are very costly and requires only the expertise of manufactures to handle them.

What happens if the gas agency mechanic comes, fiddles with the burner and because of his lack of knowledge of that appliance it conks off or it develops a problem after the agency's mechanics handling?
After that the main manufacturer says they are not responsible.

How is this issue going to be tackled?

Also if the gas agency does an inspection check they should be responsible for any damage that occurs to the stove, cylinder, piping after that.

Why should they avail of charging (fleecing the customer) without any responsibility?

In reality the end user is responsible for the safety of the gas, the piping etc. The agency is not --- and should therefore not be entitled to any charges for checking the safety of appliance, piping etc which they have not installed in the first place.

Please stop this fleecing of the customer.
Same thing is happen with me. A guy came from the agency and ask me money for mandatory safety checks. I asked him for any special instruction from company and government. Can you please provide me the copy of the instruction. But he just misguiding me from the topic. You can check it from your agency and call them.
Indian Oil company. Agency is Adarsh nagar, Ajmer Rajasthan. Consumer number 51308
charge me 177/- for 2 years ?
Just provide me the slip ...

It is new method of getting money from consumer
Today KK Indane gas person visited my home and told about mandatory check and ask to replace pipe. They want to change pipe for everyone without any need.
Upon refusal he threatened to disconnect.
He doesn't looks like technician.

Did anyone actually had their connection disconnected ?

I have already complained to customer care but not sure what will happen
I am a resident of JCR layout in Bangalore and fall under KK Indane gas agency. Today, two representatives from KK Indane had come to my house and said that
they wanted to do an inspection of the gas setup. They showed the ID card and did a minute's inspection. Once it was done my wife was asked to pay rs.180 for doing so. I spoke to them on phone and told that I did not know about this beforehand and told them that I would check with the agency and would pay them the amount (phone was disconnected). The representative showed his anger and told my wife that cylinder would not be delivered anymore to my house.
I truely respect the inspection part but would request Indane authorities to let us know that the inspection is planned(a one line message on phones) so that we are aware of it beforehand and there would not be any surprises.

It is not about paying rs.180 for the inspection, but the way, the representatives attended the session and the behavior is very paining. Technician being an employee of Indane should not in case say that he would stop my subscription.
