[Resolved] Indian Postal Services — corrupt attitude of Postmaster | |
Currently I am posted in Surat and working with Private Bank. my Entire family lives in Ahmedabad and I come to Ahmedabad on Sundays. I applied for a renewal of my passport and the same was renewed and was sent to me by speed post through Indian Postal Service. I was not in Ahmedabad at that time because I am working in Surat so i was not availabe to recieve the passport. Post master Mr. K.C Chauhan visited my home on 26th November, 2007 in Ahmedabad for the passport delivery but he did not deliver the same. He demanded Rs. 100 from my wife but my wife refused to give the same than he told my wife that as per rule I dont handover this passport to you or even not to anybody in my family. He told my wife that he will handover this passport to the person in whose name the passport is, so that person has to be present for recieving the passport. He also told my wife that as per rule this passport will be lying in the post office for next 7 days. So my wife told to MR. K.C CHAUHAN that my husband will collect it on Saturday,. Infact I also conveyed the message to post office that I will coleect the same on 1st December, 2007 Saturday. I took leave from my office and reached Ahmedabad on 1st Dec., 2007 Saturday and reached the Shah Allam Post Office for availing my passport but from post office I got the reply that they had sent back that passport to passport office on Firady the 30th Nov., 2007. As per rule any passport will lie in the post office for 7 days but post office erred on 2 thing first of all they demanded money from my wife and second thing they sent back my passport within 5 days to passport office knowingly. It caused great inconvenience to me as I lost my 1 day salary and also lost the 1 working day as well as It caused great trouble to me to travel from Surat to Ahemdabad for such a small thing. Kindly take suitable action against the Indian Postal Service Department and also take harsh action against mr. K.C CHAUHAN, THE POST MASTER. My Standard Chartered ATM Pin was dispatched by the Bank on 2nd December 2010 from Chennai but it hasent been delivered to me yet as on 6th January 2011 .. I tried to track for my letter but the Postman are completely arrogant on helping me.. To add. the postman says that since your office is on 2nd floor, we wont come to drop the letter there... This is the attitude of the postman...
It is a matter of shame that, one has to go through so much pain in reciving just a simple post.. This case is the second time it has happened to me..
Kindly Look into this matter.

Respected Sir,
I am writing this letter to you after years of harrasement at the hand of our area post man who seeks undue rewards in terms of cash money every now and then. seeking money for festive occasions like new year, diwali and holi is his common practice. he seeks an amount which he determines and if we refuse to pay him that he mishandles our mail and looses it. there have been so many occasions where we just don't receive our mails as he intentionally misplaces it.
Today i received my passport and he asked me for a sum of Rs. 101, when I refused him saying that its his duty to deliver these documents to my address and that this is not a favor to me, he said that if this is my behaviour in future I will not receive my mail in time and my important documents can be lost or misplaced. This was ourtrageous! we as residents of this colony feel helpless at hands of this postman who takes undue advantage of our dependence on him for our mails.
Hope you will order an inquiry or any kind of action as you deem fit on this as soon as possible and detail me in this regard otherwise I will be forced to take an untoward step by RTI or court of Law towards corruption which is Killing every Indian till grass root level even at such high prestigious and old departments of POST and I will also intimate everyone of my knowing circle which may cause great inconveniences to the reputation of the Postal Department.
I hereby implore you to please look into the matter as soon as possible and take the neccessary action in favour of the citizens of this colony and sincerity in Indian postal services.

Today I closed my MIS account No.211279 at Polytechnic office, Ambawadi, Ahmedabad and I requested
the person concerned to return to me the original pass-book to me but the person concerned regreted
to return it to me as this is one man office of post office departmentand this is the practice at the office.
The original pass-book is an concrete evidence of our depositing the amount and withdrawing the amount
at the office and this is needed for incometax purposes at a later stage and hence it must be returned to us.Will you be kind enough to direct the original pasbook when I am approaching him tomorrow.For yoour information, I have received back the passbook in origin from the other office of your post office and hence
the request.

today i.e 16-10-10 I visited Khairtabad post officer, Hyderabad, A.P, in order to send 11 RPAD covers. I waited in que 20 minitues, the couter person refused to take covers stating that there are 11 covers, then i met immediate superior to her, even superior also gave evasive answer and then i met post master, but post master also same reply and they advised me to come at evening time then only they will take my 11 RPAD cover, is there any such rule in your Post office, that one shall send only one cover, even i did not find any such sign board in the khairtabad Post Office, Hyderabad, A.P, why post man is not taking/registering said letter.
