Indigo Airlines — MISSING BAGGAGE DUE TO MISSING LUGGAGE TAG

Address:New Delhi, Delhi

Dear Sir/Maam My mother Mrs Pakeeza Khan had her flight at 9.55 am in the 6E 205 flight which flies from Delhi to Dibrugarh with a stop at Kolkata today 14.10.2013 While she was checking in with her baggage she was informed that she had excess baggage and told to pay for it in the nearby counter and then come take the boarding pass. She was attended by a man whose name is not important to disclose at this point. When she came back after paying for her excess baggage, the man has left for another counter and his place was taken by a lady. My mother noticed that her only suitcase, which should have been at the weighing scale was MISSING. While inquiring about it, the lady at the counter raised an alarm when she realized that the suitcase had gone for boarding WITHOUT the luggage tag as there was NO TAG on the boarding pass as well. So basically the man FORGOT TO TAG the luggage. My mother created a scene (which was her right) to get her luggage back but they couldnt find it. And now the suitcase is missing as it was not found at the port of arrival nor at the Kolkata transit. It had very valuable items no doubt and a good amount of cash. It was a navy blue suitcase which should be around 18 kgs and had P.Khan written on it. So basically if the luggage was not tagged then it should be at the airport or the lost and found department. We have already called cargo of the Delhi airport and they have told us to wait for two days. My question is - If the luggage was not tagged then does it get sideline and kept at the airport or loaded in the aircraft? If the answer is yes, then i urge INDIGO DELHI to look into this matter as it cannot be anywhere else but AT the delhi airport. If the answer is no, then i urge to again look into this matter with the utmost concern because then it will be the most irresponsible thing of your officials and will involve legal proceedings. It was a mistake of INDIGO counter officials and therefore, the whole responsibility of the missing luggage falls on the staff and Indigo. It will not be difficult for us lodge a complaint with the higher authorities and involve the police and to say the least drag them to court to but we are trusting them enough to give atleast 7 days to look into this matter before taking up adverse steps. We trust Indigo will return the suitcase which has sensitive valuables and look into this matter as soon as possible. Since it was lost on the 14.10.2013, yesterday, i trust them to find it within 2 days. We have done the needful and we request the Airline to take responsibility for what happened and find the luggage. Please free to email me back if there is any news at - khan.[protected]@gmail.com Thanking you F.Khan
