[Resolved] Mahindra Scorpio — Gearbox issues
I have a new Oct 2009 Scorpio. It’s only 6000 Kms done and has a peculiar gearbox problem. Every time I visit the authorized service center, they end up doing some clutch adjustment and the problem comes back again. Is this an overall design fault or an heads up for a bigger issue, do we have to change the gearbox? I have also called the Mahindra customer service and requested a call back from a Mahindra engineer, but never got a call, instead I assume the complaint was routed through an dealer resulting in them calling me again. Again the same adjustment was done and the problem remains. I have been a Mahindra customer since 1995, from then I am driving only Mahindra vehicles and this is my second Scorpio. Request for proper attention to be provided from Mahindra. Major Issues, 1. Once the vehicle is started after a break of 6 plus hours, applying 1st gear and from 1st to 2nd and to 3rd is very hard. Also is the same case with reverse gear. 2. Occasionally, 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear slips back to natural. 3. 2nd gear has no pickup, makes it very hard driving up hill. 4. Though it’s an 8 seater vehicle, while driving with more then 6 people on board, the rear suspension makes huge noise. Hope I dont have to switch mind here Was this information helpful?

MAHINDRA SCORPIO GEAR DEFECTIVE NEW GENERATION
I have purchased Mahindra Scorpio new generation S -8, on 29 Oct 2014, in GOA MUKTAR AUTOMOBILES,
Since after 5 days of purchase .
I noticed a irrating noise in Transmission, When I start the vehicle and the Engine running in idle speed in neutral after some running of about 7 to 8 kms and the Vehicle is warm the noise emanating from gear transmission and dissappears depressing the clutch, noise only goes off when depressing the clutch that means the noise comes from Gear train, and looks like the bearing in Gear is faulty . I called the Service workshop and they send Mechanic to have a look and the Mechanic checked and told me that the noise arise in Clutch and needs to be replaced, My self being a technical hand and being knows about the repairs, I told him that the noise Arise in Gear. Then i took the vehicle in Service work shop and they advised me to drive the vehicle and they will order the Clutch Plate and pressure plate assembly, They changed the Clutch, plate and Pressure plate after a week or so, Still the noise remained in gear, then They decided to inform the Mumbai head office and the Top Manager personally made visit to see the defect and he decided to replace the Complete Gear Box, And insisted me to drive the vehicle as it will not harm the vehicle and performance, Then later they told me to get the vehicle to get replacement of the Gear Transmission, The Gear transmission was changed and Still the noise was present in GEAR BOX . Then they decided that their ENGINEERING team to come and have a look on vehicle, They visited and took the vehicle for repair, ENGINEERS FAILED to remove the noise from GEAR TRANSSMISSION, they says its not a problem and not effects the vehicle, I am telling them that I have paid for the performance and I dont need to hear the irrating noise.
MY REQUEST TO YOU, PLEASE CHECK THE NEW GENERATION SCORPIO, IN NEUTRAL AND HEAR THE NOISE AND PRESS THE CLUTCH, I WONDER ALL VEHICLES GEARS ARE DEFECTIVE AND FAILURE, I BELIEVE THE GEAR BOX DOEST MATCH THE M = HAWK ENGINE AND NOISE EMANATING FROM GEARS TRAIN AS IF THERES NO OIL, PLEASE ADVICE WHAT I HAVE TO DO?
Thanks and regards.
