[Resolved]  Medi Assist — Medi Assist worst ever service I had seen

Dear reader,

If you want peace of mind with cashless claim, please don’t go with Medi Assist TPA.

We ( I, my wife and new born baby) had to wait in the hospital lobby for 8 hours; thanks
to Medi Assist’s lethargic inhuman service! The fax for enhancement of the cashless claim was sent at around 4:00 PM. Every hour, I was calling the customer service of Medi Assist and the hospital administration was also contacting them in between. Every time, the claim was under process and will be completed by 6:00 PM, 7:00 PM, 8:00 PM, 9:00 PM... Thanks to merciless customer care executive, finally, we called it a day and paid the cash by ourselves and got discharged from the hospital at 10:00 PM.

The claim was finally settled after 2 days!!! Now, I have to visit the hospital to collect back the money I had paid upfront.

Lessons learnt:
(1) Please don’t ever rely on Medi Assist. It is severely understaffed and customer care executive have no common sense. ( same case with all of them. I had talked with Sagar, Reddy and Kumar during this time and all have same no sense attitude.)
(2) Don’t believe 24 hour call centre services unless you test before hand. Try your self for medi-assist call centre:[protected] and if you get someone to talk to you in less than 5 minutes, I would say, you are extremely lucky!!
(3) Have enough cash with you to pay upfront and possibly claim later.

Please spread this word to your friends and colleagues so that they would avoid such treatment of making their loved ones to wait in the hospital lobby for several hours swallowing infections.

I also agree with the complaint. Mediassist is one of the worst TPAs. If I go to any big hospital, they tell that if the TPA is Mediassist, they will not entertain cashless claim.
Sir, I am working wiyh reliance life insurance at delhi for past two and a half month but still not registered with medi assist for medical benefits. pls let me know what to do. This is not a complaint.

i will be obliged

thanks

Totally agree with you.
Call thier customer care no. and it will be on hold for minimum 10 min or some thing.
Most of the other no's you can find busy at any point of time.
they are just completly ...
please don’t go with Medi Assist TPA.

We ( I, my wife and 2 sons) had to wait in the hospital lobby for more than 10 hours; thanks
to Medi Assist’s worst service! The fax for enhancement of the cashless claim was sent at the previous night at 8.45 pm. Every hour, I and also the hospital reception was calling the customer service of Medi Assist. Every time, the claim was under process and will be completed by 6:00 PM, 7:00 PM, 8:00 PM, 9:00 PM... Thanks to merciless customer care executives, finally, we called it a day and paid the cash by ourselves and got discharged from the hospital at 9:30 PM.

The claim is yet to be settled.

it is very common every where. Even the company where your working try once i[censored] get the call once then advise others. lae processing becasue you might have not produced all the documents. wehave very good exp with MA, No problem everyt ime this will not happen. you might have not known proper procedure and act blindly like other who are mentioned above. first try to understand the situations and act. you people wait for several hours in theators and all not here for two hours. why ???. you will be providing same service from ur workplace compare to others
I think the company mediassit exsist to ensure that we do not get our claims. I just spoke to their customer care executive in banglaore and she spoke with so much attitude as if she was doing me a favour.
The branch in mumbai gave me all kinds of excuses to ensure that you do not get cashless treatment.

If there is justice, i hope that one day these people will have to spend time waiting in a hospital lobby for thier funds to arrive ... a taste of thier own medicine
Hi, All
See each and every body has there own problems at the time of cashless. but it doesn't mean that all the amount would be reimbursed as you have insured from the company or individually.

each and every policy has it's own policy terms and conditions which each and every individual has to know which is covered and which is not covered under the policy. if it's a corporate policy company has to educate them properly regards to the process of the claim along with the maximum TAT for processing the claims on working days and non working days.

and mediassist is not the company which releases teh amount. Mediassist is the TPA which will process teh claims based on the policy terms and conditions provided from the Insurance company. pls ensure if you are taking teh policy from the agent, pls take the detailed details of teh admissibilty and teh procedure of the Mediclaims as they are the persons who mis lead the individuals saying that all the claims are covered upto SI of the family, where people blindly believe there words.

Also there are few packages which are applicable for networking hospitals of Mediassist where it would be payable only upto package rates. if it's an eye operation, cataract - there would be a capping for approving. it would not be approved completely. hence pls gather the information before getting hospatilized.

REIMBURSEMENT CLAIMS - from the date of submission of teh claim it would take around 15 to 20 working days for Mediasst to confirm you teh claims status. if any documents are required for processing teh claim further only then the claim would be on hold for such requirements of documents. or else processing teh claim wouldnt take such a long time.

i stronglt disagree with this point saying that the claim is not processed for two months. i know about Mediassist very well from years together and, they have a good name in teh current generation.

ID cards:- if ID cards are not reached the individual on time there would be two chances;
1. policy not reached mediassist and hence policy is not updated and ID card is not issued.
2. to issue ID cards we require the photographs which might have not reached MA.
pls get in touch regards to this to CALL CENTRE they will guide you.

i agrred with your views for medi assist.they have kept bunch of jokers instead of doctor pannel.common sence & attitute of customer service centre is very bad without huminity touch.they feels that they are making obligation on customer by providing service.they says that they need 4 hours time to settle the claim after receiving papers but they dont inform days & months with that 4 hours.its very difficult to access call centre number also.irda should look into matter & cancell their licence who plays with life of poor patient.
Hello,

I shared the same fate with mediassist. My wife, myself and the newborn had to wait endlessly in the hospital waiting for approval. That being a non-working day made things very hard.
Fortunately I realised that approval is not going to happen when after 4 hrs i did not hear from anyone, I paid the bill to claim later and left the hospital.

Unfortunately for some o[censored]s choosing the TPA is not our choice.
I can suggest a few things for people when interacting with mediassist

Keep the cash ready in your card.
Approval will take at least 2-4 hrs on weekdays and almost twice on holidays
If the approval does not come in 2 hrs, pay and leave dont wait. This is especially true if you are getting discharged in the evening.
Getting back the money is a circus, but at least some people in the family will have peace of mind.

There is no use complaining on any mediclaim company. There is no comprehensive rules or guidelines present in our system (read country). Unless that improves, there will be problems. There are no strict rules for violators or for delay. We have to live with that.

Take care
Ya mediassist is worset...they are types peeples

Sir/Madam,
READ THIS FULLY & TRY TO BECOME AT LEAST HUMAN BEINGS>

It is very unfortunate that, inspite of the fact, that you and your lethargic & incompetent team has processed my papers for almost six hrs and you can retrieve all these in minutes from your Fax machine and computer, you are asking me to submit all these papers again. to physicall process all these papers for another 6 hrs. You are not giving me any gurantee that you will sanction the re imbursement.. It is already 20 days since i send you the request and what fantastic way of responding, that too after many reminders.

After reaching home at 2 am in the fateful night Suffering the i human harassment, agony & torture from your mindless Zombies, I am now very sick & now bedrdden and is a total wreck. I have no money after paying what i have borrowed for my hospital bills. I have nothing even to buy my medicines. As per your requirement if I am taking Xerox copies of all documents and sending it through couriors it will cost me minimum 100 rupees, and I would rather use it for my medicines..

I have gone through the inumerable complaints posted by so many unfortunate harassed people, in your Website, I am pretty sure that sending my papers will be a futile excercise and all the papers will end up as toilet tissue papers. I am also sure that this is a part of your regular Drama.

I was admitted at the hospital because i had breathing problem, swelling on my legs due to a suspected renal failure, and my blood pressure and sugar levels were very irratic the week before and my local doctor suggested i get admitted under a Nephrologist, and more over out of fear of Death.

You must treat sick & helpless Senior Citizens this way, like you have been doing always. You Filtered first rated who dont know the life in a Hospital .YouI Idoits think people are going to the hospital just like to enjoy or holidaying in Kashmir or Switzerland. Well it is not like that. The moment you are put in Semi private room/Ward, there will be a minimum of 3 patients in one room and another 3 attendants .That makes a total of 6 people, and at least 1 of them will be using one small toilet every 15 minutes, .Even the hospital is cleaning it 2 times a day the stench of medicines mixed with & urine will make you run away the first day itself not to mention the inumerable visitors in the evening also using the same toilet .Most of them dont know how to use a western Toilet. By mistake if you forget your Soap/towel in the Toilet most of them will wipe thier hands and use your soap. Morning you can make sure that
theother patients and their company ask you for some Tooth paste.and if your Cot happened to be right infront of the toilet, you just had it.

From the moment you are admitted nurses will start pricking your finger tips minimum3/4 times to draw blood for assessing your sugar level and accordingly Insulin will be injected 3 times before food . Other than that they will collect Blood samples from your arm many times during your stay for various tests..If happened to be a very sick person, they will insert a Canula for IV line, on your Arm or backside of the hand, and if you are an old person like me, finding a suitable Vein will be a real problem, for you as well as the poor nurse as they have to try manytimes and it will be real painfull. You cannot move that arm after that. Lying always on one side, eating, Passing Urine/ / Bathing evrything will be real difficult.
If they are drawing Fluid from your Spinal cord You have to lie down in Fetus position for a long time and if they are drawing Bonemaroww from your hip bone the pain you are suffering will be unbearable. By chance if happened to see the length of the Needle and drill for boring You will definitely Faint.
Not to mention the ice cold gel they will be applying all over your body for the Dopler test& ECG.. They will not clean it properly and it will smeared on your Dress. and you have to stay with it.till the next day to change the dress. The food they are supplying is horrible with less salt Tasteless & Bland, and by the time you are ready to eat it after the nurse checks your blood sugar& a dose of Insuline, it will be just taken out of the Fridge. The moment you start eating, one of the other Patient will start Vomiting or the third patient will be in the makeshit commode with loud noise & farting .Invariably it happens every time when you want eat anything The Only thing you get hot in the hospital are water and tea/coffee.

Other than that 3/4 times they will check your Blood pressure/ temperature. Patient has to collect Urine for 24 hours in 5ltr.Can which is very difficult to handle with a Canula fixed on your hand and have to keep an account of the intake of your liquid food/ out put.. With all these and the visits of the specialist doctors and their check ups you will want you to run away to the warm comforts of your sweet home. and you rotten rats all of you at Medi asssist from the CEO to the lowest grade think people go to the hospital just to have fun.

.I found you are all worse than leaches & Vampires who feed on others blood. You are all like Hens & Fowls . They scratch the soil in search of worms only backwards not forward.

I will be posting this in your Web site along with the other complaints If you are sending me a cheque for the amount I paid at the hospital with the existing Records with you, which you have taken 6hrs. to process, well and good, You may have your own Rules, Throw themout of the window & do something Humanitarian.

If at all I recover from my present situation, I am going to start something which will be very bad for your reputation as an Insurance company who cares for the sick people. A sheer wastage of my son's hard earned money, and he works for 15 hrs. a day.

I am sure you will not respond for this mail.

Yours sincerly.
M.A. Madhusoodanan..
This is for your bed & irresponsible work for cash less hospitalisation through reliance & any other mediclaim cards/policy holders. So many times we tried too much to fax on your toll free & other fax no.and get communication error & after half an hr. To confirm the fax on your toll free phone no., after so much time spend on your medi assist caller tune the customer executive talk to us that your fax is not available on fax & pls. call us on same no. after half an hr. & tried a lot another customer executive replied that your fax is not readable and she had not found every papers which faxed by us. after three - four days we find the denial letter of cashless beneficiaries.
