I fully agree with you as i have been facing this problem since FEB 09 and they have still not replaced the line which comes to my colony. Its always a usual excuse that it could be my router (which is new), filter (which is new), Ethernet card (which is new), Ultimately PC (i have tested it on my new laptop too) and i have replaced each and every item listed here. Their engineers have come innumerous times and i have visited MTNL, Marol, innumerous times with my issue of random disconnection, and called their help lines, 1504, 198 and registered innumerous complaints just like you. But they always seem to take it easy and come up with excuses like "Our line parameters are showing ok here" which today unfortunately their excuse fell flat on their faces as the ADSL light was blinking continuously and the engineer who visited me today atlast confirmed that it was a line induction or attenuation fault, bcos at the same time he had called his office to check the parameters and found them to be ok, indicating that there was some induction happening on the line somewhere on the way. Lets see till tomorrow what they do...but i am sure they are not going to replace the Old Lines (confirmed by themselves) coming in my house.
