[Resolved] MTNL, Mumbai — Unlawful deduction from balance | |||
I am using a prepaid Trump - MTNL, Mumbai. My cell No is [protected]. The MTNL kept on sending SMS (at least 5 per day), tempting the customers for free activation of GPRS3G. The free scheme was offered till 31March, ending at 00 hours 1st April. I sent an SMS for activation of GPRS3G on 31st March, 2010 at 9.50 PM and I received a reply from 444 at 9.51 pm stating I would receive confirmation SMS within an hour. Which I have not received so far. The GPRS3G is not activated also till today. To my great surprise on !st April 2010 they deducted 149/- from my balance, which I noticed on 3rd April and immediately called the customer care No 1503, under my complain number CC[protected]. I was told that they deducted the amount for GPRS3G activation. I called number of times and asked for any senior officer, but in vain. The answer I receive all the time is, as they activated it after 8 or 10 hours, which was 1st April,2010, the scheme was over. Now I opted for the GPRS3G services when the free activation offer was very much in force ie. 31st March 2010. Hence the deduction of Rs 149/- is unlawful and breach of trust. I also complained online under complaint reference number 79149 on 5th April,2010. I have not received any reply so far. (They boast to take actions within a week.) My telephone at present is dead. it happens occassionaly since oct 2008 for more than tree times. Whenever I made a coplaint it get started within a few days. I feel something fishy. Pl. do the needful.
