I tried to book 3 tickets today (14.12.2010:9.20am) at the website for the movie "The Social Network", at PVR Skywalk, Chennai for 1:15 pm show. I took the option of Axis Bank Net Banking, and completed my payment transaction. At the end of payment you are told the transaction is not completed and the money will be refunded.

But you get no response from the email id of the pvr support. And I am still waiting for the money refund. What are the option available? Can somebody help in this regard.

No phone numbers are ever displayed on the website. Acknowledgement of failed transaction are never sent on the email id and mobile nos collected on the form while booking.

My friend a bank manager, gave me a PVR Voucher 'Movie Money': Voucher No. 070423. This Voucher states that it can be redeemed for one ticket of any show/any day/any film playing at PVR cinemas.

We (husband and myself) had planned to buy one ticket along with the free ticket so that both o[censored]s can watch 'Peepli Live'. We went to PVR at mulund on[protected]Monday) at 7.00 pm. Only one counter was open as it was a weekday. Incidentally, the two girls ahead o[censored]s also had the same vouchers 'Movie Money'.

The girls showed the vouchers and asked for 'Peepli Live', PVR employee at the counter said that 'Peepli live' show for 8.05 pm was full whereas the board displaying the various movies indicated 'Peepli Live' in white which means full availability. The girls were disappointed and asked for other shows. They reluctantly settled for 'Aisha'.

Next was our turn, my husband had Rs. 500 in one hand and Voucher in the other. He first gave money and asked for 'Peepli Live'. Surprisingly PVR employee didn't tell us that show was full and asked how many tickets we need. He then started booking the tickets on the terminal.

When my husband said that he had one voucher, PVR employee said tickets are not available on voucher. When we asked the reason he said the only few rows are reserved for vouchers. The voucher clearly states that only Gold class, Premiere Lounge or Cinema Europa is not applicable. Mulund PVR does not have any of these. We asked to talk to the Manager.

The Manager, Amit K came and realised that the junior employee has spilled the beans. He told him to get aside rudely and started shouting and became very aggressive for no reason. He then continued to sell 'Peepli Live' tickets to those who were offering money.

I will never go to PVR again. I urge banks and institutions to not fall in the trap of PVR cheap marketing gimmicks. Please don't buy these vouchers for your employees. PVR fools you into seeing movies which are not selling. Even if you get these vouchers dont bother to redeem it, its just a waste of time.
After I put my complaint here, PVR responded by following mail:

Dear Mr/Ms. Rai,

This is to bring to your kind notice that due to some technical issues you got charged for the transaction but your tickets are not booked. So, we hereby assure that the if amount got debited will be credited back to your account within fourteen working days.

We also request you to use any of the below mentioned methods to book PVR movie tickets in future:

1) Visit our website www.pvrcinemas.com to make online booking

2) If you are on facebook, you can use PVR application on Facebook to book tickets

3) By calling 505787 from your Airtel, Vodafone or Idea and Reliance user can dail 5050787 for Mobile ticketing

Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.

i.e I got aresponse, thanks to this forum. But the repayment has been pushed back from 4 days to 14 days.

i have bought a pvr gift card but it had not been deliverd to my address, , even after it is going to b a month...n they r giving the guarantee of delivering a week...

I think people are trying very hard to find messages in the film ‘The Social Network’ and are also taking the characters very seriously. The characters had to be made interesting in order to sustain the interest of viewers. I don’t really think that Mark Zuckerberg was that ruthless and scheming.

it seems that pvr has a bad marketing head with no control over his team
Dear readers,
the pvr at jalandhar is a big cheat. I[censored] happen to buy a burger that costs some 80 or 180 rupees the guy adds 20 rupees cheese on his own. On wanting to have it deleted they argue n claim its a part of the order. If it was then dont charge 20 extra. They say that it has to be given n charged even i[censored] dont want it, on finally speaking with the manager they agreed. So guys this sort of cheating is being done at jalandhar only as far as i have noticed, be careful. I[censored] notice it too plz complain about it, the staff is bloody rude and devoid u of your rights.

    Please find the adjoining e-mail thread for the communication by my bank(HDFC) on the failed transaction .

    (booking done on 14/10/2010 by me for the malayalam movie "Pranchiyettan" for the 15/10/2010 09:25 PM show for two persons @ pvr cinemas,Koramangala through your payment gateway).

    Request you to take necessary and prompt action to refund the booking amount(480 Rupees) as this complaint is aging 20 days already.

    Also find excerpts from my original complaint as given below for the details and history of my complaint.

    This was regarding an issue with respect to a booking done on 14/10/2010 by me for the malayalam movie "Pranchiyettan" for the 15/10/2010 09:25 PM show for two persons.

    My first booking attempt was not successful but an amount of 480 rupees had been debited from my HDFC debit account as the booking session had got expired and I was able to the following message on the screen .(similar wording -from my memory)

    "Booking session expired.If your money had debited from your account it will be refunded"

    After that I had tried for another booking for the same show for two persons and that booking was successful .(480 rupees debited for this booking also).

    I haven't got the 480 ruppes refunded to my account yet for the failed booking due to session expiration.This amount was debited from my bank account.

        Dear Concern,

        On 21 Aug 2010 I was booking 7 tickets for "Peepli Live" movie in PVR Chandigarh.
        The transaction failed as the session was over..ticket wasn’t confirmed but money was deducted from my HDFC account.
        I booked the ticket again and Rs. 735.00 were debited twice from my account.

        The failure message online booking was "Your tickets cannot be booked, If money has been debited from your account it will be refunded".
        It’s been almost a month and I am still waiting for the refund. I have filed a complaint on their PVRSUPPORT but no reply received yet.

        I NEED MY MONEY BACK WITH COMPENSATION AS THE MONEY WAS LYING WITH YOU FROM LAST ONE MONTH

        I am sending you the screen shot of my account because when I talk to PVRsupport they say the money was processed on 18th but I have not received any money as you can see in the screenshot.

          my name is vijay kadli i had booked tickets in pvr cinemas chennai located in skywalk mall on the date of 15th and 18th of september 2010.
          i succesfully booked the ticket on both dates but the problem was on both dates when i booked for the first time i was charged the movie money while the message appeared as booking session expired and your money will be refunded.. this happened on both dates and i havent yet received the refund money

          i just book ma show for pvr on friday of july through net banking at the last step it just stop ....and i didnt get any ticket details , there is none ticket booked and amount detected from ma account ....
          so just me what 2 do and please help to find the solution...
          i faced the same problem. i sent a mail to [protected]@pvrcinemas regarding this... but i dint get any reply..

            I had booked tickets for the movie Maleyali Joteyali at PVR Koramangla, Bangalore. The show date was 27/12/2009. This was done online through my citibank credit card. The amount for the booking was 780.00 rs. But, it so happened that this transaction was charged twice on the card. I had given a writen complaint at PVR Kormangala regarding charging me twice for one booking and I was told that the amount will be creadited in 3 days. I had given the complaint on 31st December... But later I noticed that PVR team without my knowledge has debit the amount from my credit card on 13th January and credited it back again than crediting that amount that was taken from my card on 24th December. I went in person to PVR almost 8 times but even then they have not paid the amount. Every time they ask me to fill some form and say that money will be returned in few days. Complaint Number is Bad Transaction Refund PVR:[protected]. Its maily about trust sir. we use our cards thinking it wont be misused that too by such a huge organization like PVR. Can you please help us in this regard. I have all the mail conversations with PVR and credit card statement if you need them.

            I too have been taken for ride for making quick booking online using internet banking and Rs.450/- has been debited from my account for transaction not completed on 01/10/2010 and still awaiting refund. I have written to them by email.

                I had Ticket of the show at 3.00 pm. It was around 2.20 pm when i got to cinema but me and my friends were not allowed to enter. They asked me to come before half an hour before show. This was quite insulting. Even the security man was behaving rude. I asked to call the manager but i was not allowed to meet him and was asked to come after 15 minutes..
                This is not the ethics. PVR is a great company and the cinema located at Acropolis- Ahmedabad is making things go bad due to their rude behaviour and bad services..

                I had bought 3 PVR-Naraina tickets sno.3659/2/7/01/000229, 000228, 000230 online. It was a late night show and we were already 20 minutes late for the movie, upon reaching the audi we found that some other people were sitting on our seats inspite of having booked ticket we had no where to sit as the hall was full. The person on our seat said that he was given the seat by the staff, the staff was not helpful either and could not get the seat vacant, after running around here and there for 20 minutes with our little children we were finally offered 2 seats and told that they would see what can be done during the intermission, but that was again not taken care...we were just asked to adjust. All our plan to watch the movie was ruined by your inefficient service, despite we paid for 3 tickets we just got 2 seats and had to sit with kids on our lap it was very inconvinient. I request you to please take necessary action and compensate for our tickets.

IN ANY ANGEL THE MOVIE WAS NOT 3D WITH NO 3D ATALL .I INFACT IT WAS SEEING MOVIE WITHOUT GLASSES I WASTED 1000 RS , FOR 5 TICKETS , THIS TOTAL CHEATING BY PVR , I WILL NEVER GO THERE , THEY ARE TOTALLY CHEATING THE PUBLIC WHAT IS THE USE OF SPENDING SO MUCH MONEY TO GO TO SEE A 3D PICTURE .                   A section of filmmakers affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Council (TNFPC) have alleged financial irregularities, graft and misappropriation of funds worth Rs 1.8 crore in a deal signed between former office-bearers of the apex body and cable TV (Win Media- SCREEN MEDIAS, Film producer M.Senthilkumar, working in polimer tv) during[protected].

                  Led by S A Chandrasekaran, TNFPC president (in charge) and father of actor Vijay, a delegation of producers met Police Commissioner J K Tripathy and submitted a complaint on Tuesday. Talking to reporters later, Chandrasekaran said that at the TNFPC meet on Sunday, around 60 producers alleged that revenue to the tune of Rs 1.8 crore owed by cable companies to the council under various agreements had been misappropriated by former office-bearers of the body. In the petition to the CoP, the producers alleged that the council signed an agreement with two cable companies, J K Media and Win Media M.Senthilkumar, on February 18, 2007 and March 1, 2007 on telecast of Tamil film clippings. As per the deal, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry were divided into 32 divisions and the companies were allotted an equal number of areas.
                  The then TFPC president Ramanarayanan, secretaries Sivasakthi Pandian and K S Srinivasan, vice-presidents Kajamoideen and Anbalaya Prabhakaran and treasurer Azhagan Tamizhmani inked the agreement on behalf of the producers’ body. It was agreed that each company must pay `65, 000 for each film. Stating that 108 films were released in 2007, the complaint claimed that the estimated revenue was `1, 40, 40, 000. Even as the agreement was in vogue, Ramanarayanan and Azhagan Tamizhmani signed a new deal with Tamil Nadu Local Private Channel Owners Welfare Association (TNLPCOWA), which agreed to pay `5 lakh a month. “The new association was set up by the two cable TV companies, ” the petition said. Similar agreements were signed between the council and the association on March 18, 2008, with the latter agreeing to make a monthly payment of `3.5 lakh, and again on April 3, 2009 (Rs 3.6 lakh monthly payment).
                  After the agreement ended on April 2, 2010, a new one was inked only after six months, thus causing a loss of Rs 21, 60, 000. On October 1, 2010, a fresh deal was signed, under which the association agreed to pay Rs 3.6 lakh per month. Of the total of `3, 05, 40, 000, the council got just Rs 1, 23, 46, 500. But the cable companies said that they paid the TNFPC in full. The producers urged the police to help recover the remaining amount.

                    Respected sir,

                    I would like to bring forward a complaint against PVR CINEMA. Yesterday i bought 3 tickets (prime) & i opted to pay online through net-banking service (SBI) from internet. Everything went well , or as it seemed , i successfully was redirected to the SBI net-banking site & i successfully completed the transaction against AVENUES INDIA PRIVATE , which is also included in my account statement of INR 345/- . But disaster stuck , after i paid for the tickets , i was redirected back to a site with heading 'ERROR IN TRANSACTION". I tried my best to check pvr site for any page of successfully transaction history but no good. now i am left with debited 345/- INR & no tickets. Sir i am a student & this is my student bank account. please guide me , i really can;t allow my parents to see my monthly statement with debited amount for nothing. i approached you people with very much hope, & i wish you guys will guide me through the process of successfully solving this issue.

                    PS : i sent an email to the pvr support team , no use as i got no reply. PLS HELP!

                    My problem was solved. I called up early to PVR helpline & they said i will get refunded for the bad transaction within 7 working days. I got my refund after 2 days.

                    Hence i hereby would like to close this complaint now :)
                    I too had similar horrifying experience with PVR Cinemas have lost Rs450/- in same way you have lost. I too made payment through netbanking of SBI. I dont fing their mailing address to intimate them by post or they have mentioned customer care telephone number in their website. However I have sent them mail to supportcare and so far no reply or refund has been made. May some organisation look into this and do needful and alert public not to get cheat.

                      On wednesday16 th june) I went to PVR cinemas chennai to book tickets for raavanan. They told that they haven't yet opened the counter for advance booking. Also we waited till thursday morning and even they have n't opened the online booking. Then I went personally to check the tickets but they asked me to come at 3 PM. Then I went at that time but they are saying the tickets are already sold till monday (21st june). It seems that they are holding tickets and giving to people whom they know first. I got frustrated and asked them why they are doing like this but they are saying that they can do anything and we people can't do anything. So people don't go to PVR in chennai. They are not treating properly.

                        I had called PVR on[protected] and the call was responded by a lady.

                        I wanted to know about the process of getting a free ticket for platinum Visa card holders.

                        I was told that i needed to enter the card details and then I would be asked to cofirm booking and would be told, if I am eligible for free ticket.

                        However there was no confirmation asked for and I was charged for 2 tickets without me knowing about it. I asked for the actual process. I asked for a refund for the amount for my 1 free ticket.

                        I have been constantly trying to get in touch with them but they simply do not respond.

                          while booking tickets for movie clash of titans show dated 14th april 2010 1500 hrs we had done the payment for eight tickets but the conformation was not received and the money was credited from the account. we had rechecked for the booking details but it was found dat the booking was not done , so we rebooked the tickets . so i kindly request you to look into the matter and refund the money back into my account .

                          Net Banking Ref. - 6640586 While booking tickets for movie clash of PEEPLI show dated 24th aug 2010 19:30 hrs at EDM, GAZIABAD, Uttar Pradesh we had done the payment for four tickets but the conformation was not received and the money (Rs. 560/-) was credited from the account. we had rechecked for the booking details but it was found that the booking was not done, so we rebooked the tickets . so i kindly request you to look into the matter and refund the money back into my RBS A/c- 1532280

                            when i booked tickets online for pvr cinemas by credit card they r charging a transaction/convinience/service charge . this is unfair since we r booking the ticket ourself their load is reduced actually ticket shd be discounted instead of extra charge

                            in sathyam cinemas the cost of the foods available in the canteen are over priced and they are not allowing home made snacks into the cinema hall. this is an act of denying our right to consume our own food

                            in pvr cinemas convenience charges?? are levied for online booking. actually we are making them more convenient in the process of issuing tickets. i had been charged Rs.60/- for 4 tickets

                              I had tried to book 2 tickets for My Name is Khan on the 20th Feb, 2010. Due to some glitch in your site the tickets were not issued and my account was wrongly debited for Rs. 170.

                              It has been more than 20 days and the money has not been refunded. I did not receive any email or sms confirming the issue of the tickets and the message on the website said "if the money has been debited, it will be refunded".

                              I see this as a fraud on your part by not refunding the money till now. Request you to correct this and immediately refund back my money.

                                my name is P.K.Vineet, am from hyderabad, I have a sbi atm cum debit card.today i.e.., 10/02/2010 i tried booking MY NAME IS KHAN movie tickets in PVR hyderabad website by using ccavenue sbi gateway with my debit card twice, because of server failure transaction was not successfull and i didnt get any transaction ID and only got a message saying http server failure and i was redirected to pvr website both times, but amount 460Rs was deducted from my account (rs 230 for 1st booking attempt and rs 230 for second booking attempt) eventhough error occured during transaction and transaction didnt complete. I contacted pvr they said they didnt get the money and i contacted cc avenue no one is responding.sbi is also not cooperating.i have been cheated.my tickets are not booked transaction didnt complete and i also lost money.
                                I have attatched a screenshot as u can see the booking was not successfull bcos My name is khan is not even there in the list.But still money was deducted from my account

                                  I was trying to book 3 tickets for 3 on 24th december, 2009 but the site said transaction failed. Hence i did not get the tickets but my money for 3 tickets (rs 585/-) has been debited from my citibank account. Also the tickets don't show in the booking history.

                                  I cannot agree enough with the above mentioned experience. I booked tickets for Sherlock Holmes for 14th January 2010 at PVR Hyderabad Central. The screening of the same was cancelled without any 'apt' notice (I do however, appreciate the fact that they called me 1.5 hrs in advance and informed me of the cancellation).

                                  Having said that, I regret having booked the tickets with PVR online completely since I am yet to get my ticket refund. Further, they do not have any call center's and no one ever picks up a call at their theatre numbers. I had to personally go to the cinema complex last Sunday to express my concern. Regrettably, I am yet to be reimbursed for the movie tickets.

                                  My bank account is with ICICI bank, Chamrajpet, Bangalore Branch
                                  Going by the number of complaints registered against the policies of PVR Cinemas, in this forum, I would assume this matter is clearly subjudice and needs immediate intervention of the central government authorities.
                                  Over which there is no way to contact them, nobody replies to the email nor does anyone pick up the phone. This is just not the way to treat the consumers.

                                  Hope some action is taken

                                    I tried 4-5 times to do online booking througfh PVR website on 26th December 2009. However, on finally calling up your customer care number the CSR told me that it is not allowed today and you will have to buy tickets in person, which I did later in the day.

                                    However, later on I realised that my account was debited 5 times, once for the koisk booking and 4 times when I attempted online.
                                    I was also getting messages online that if your credit card was debited, you will get the credit.

                                    Accordingly, please let me know when the same shall be done for Rs 590 * 4 = Rs 2360. Following are the 4 credit card payment reference number:

                                    Tried making advanced online booking twice on 01/01/10 morning for 3 tickets of '3 ' for 02/01/10. After making the payment of Rs.380 twice, the transaction was shown as failed. My HDFC credit card was charged Rs.760. Send a written complaint to PVR website email id and HDFC bank for dispute of charges. PVR Cinemas does not have a friendly consumer help division when they should have the most efficient system to cater to the huge cine-goers problems/complaints being the No.1 Entertainment service provider in India. I would like to get my refund back and kindly consider the case at the earliest.
                                    Even i had same experience with PVR mumbai. I tried to book tickets on 24.12.09 which shows availability in website but failed trice and i got charged my icici credit card 3 times for the failed transacitions.

                                    and written same complaint to thier website but no response from such number 1 cinema owner !

                                    and even i visited to the cinema hall twice but they told me within 6 working days it will credit to my account .Till today no credit and no response

                                    I have a same issue. I have booked tickets for Khichdi on 12th oct 2010. and my accounts has been debited twice with Rs.560.
                                    Kindly refund my money back. I have already filed an complaint. And asked the PVR cinemas booking freaks to solve my issue as early as possible.
                                    Its been too lkong guys... Not appreciated.. This was my first ever experience with your cinema.. As I always prefer Bookmyshow website.. as it is the best... No such issues...

                                      I was trying to book tickets from PVR cinema website on 01st Jan 2010 and the payment of Rs 990.00 was debited from my savings bank account.
                                      But suddenly system showed transaction failed error, which was "Transaction failed, amount will be refunded". I have been trying to reach their customer care number but nobody answers the phone[protected] and also dropped an email to pvrcinema support email ID but again there has been no response despite several follow ups.I saw a number of complaints on your website against PVR Cinema online booking system, which never refunds the wrongly charged money from the customer - i believe the website should be banned from allowing Online Booking if they cant respond to customers complaints!
                                      Please suggest a way out in getting my refund at the earliest.

                                        I had booked three tickets for the movie-3 on date01/01/2010 for the 10.45 show on 03/01/2010 to be screened at PVR MULUND.My account with bank of maharashtra had been debited with rs585/-immediately with the remark transaction successful.
                                        on 03/01/2010,while going to PVR MULUND to watch the film,I was told that no tickets via internet had not been booked in the said name for the said show.
                                        sir,I am deeply distressed as I had to return home with my aged mom and friend.
                                        I have suffered acute mental agony in addition to the conveyance fare.I demanded that the amount be refunded with all the charges incurred i.e. to and fro conveyance as I had been inconvenienced for no fault of mine as also my weekend disturbed.
                                        The amount after 2 weeks is not yet refunded.pl help

                                        pvr cinemas,mulund — non receipt of tickets/refund requested
