i mr c.v. rajendran a/c. no.[protected] i only want to know from your side what is my position in the sweepstake of 2008 - 09 weather i won any prize or weather i should continue to be customer life long. why i say this is after reading all the letter above mentioned. I am in a confused mood since what they say are correct. I would request you pls don't do this in future by giving lots of hope. instead i am ready to buy yr books and a loyal customer. why i say this is everyone will be not in a position to buy the books which are costlier and they are afraid also weather they will loose the prize amount after reading the letter. Now in the last letter you mentioned that i have entered into the one crore prize and car etc.i don't know what is the tactics beyond this. pls explain it clearly. so be frank and explain my position of 2008-09 and after that confirmation. i want to decide weather i want to be your loyal customer or play with you. also one more suggestion from my side pls don't send the v.p.p. parcel 4 to 5nos in a month make a gap of 15 days. send 1 or 2 parcel. awaiting your reply at the earliest.

Yes, my husband Dr S.N.Zahir has been involved with this fake and mischivious gimmick called Sweepstakes for the last 3 years and it always happend that the award was just a day away but the deciet continues and for those enterring the new year my advice is stay away from RD for Gods sake.

Dont you think so its hightime you do something about it... atleast...

When RD expects its readers to a win-win situation on sweepstakes kind of draws it should also reciprocate their readers with a list of winners subsequently. It is a basic courtesy, a basic quality.
Please do not be after our cheques, be after our hearts... your subscriptions rate will go up...

The draw result was already out and yet on 5 February 2009, RD sent me promotional books and sweepstake certificate to be returned within 14 days to enjoy 5 times more for the sweepstakes' draw.
More shocking is that there was an enclosed printed letter saying that I am the perfect customer and I have a vey good chance to win. If the draw result was already released in January 2008, how could I be called "Lucky"? When we bet for a lucky draw, we are always informed of the draw date. Readers Digest is unethical by fooling innocent people just to get sales of their products. I advise Readers Digest to indicate clealry the DRAW DATE for every package they sent out. For my case, does it mean that the draw date is in JANUARY 2010?????? - It is rediculous! 11 more months to wait????

Humanbeings are always optimist towards previlage. such activities like sweepstakes should be under third agencies supervison and should be fairenough.Your positive response and appreciation is solicited but honestly I do hereby mentioned that marketing promotions and hidden rules shouldnot be there.Repeated wrong adresses are carried forward inspite of informing repeatedly. please correct the adress as below

I totaly Agree. I two subscribed to this marketing bait. I applied to this contest keeping in view RD is brand name and trust i associated with it. Worst part of this entire episode is that money has been deducted from my account but havent recieved single copy of the book also forget about the prize.
If any from RD team is reading this then be ashamed and atleast try to address issues of this nature with importance

I received letter dated 2/6/09 with a check for $3867 stating I had won $117, 500 and I had to call # to activate claim.Is this a valid sweepstake winner or a scam.Reference # rd645/5/09

Last two I has been involved this ...But reading all this comments I really very much confused that whether I should continue this all or to stops...

I had already get letters and document from you that i am Potential winner an hd chance to win...

But please anybody suggest me that what is the truth ???

I want to know the date of result for this year (2009), and also I want to my know status, beacause I am confused whether I continue or stop

Readers Digest sent us a book that we did not order. On the box it said free gift inside. A couple of weeks latter they sent us a bill for $42. I called there book department and they said it was ordered by my e-mail, never did this. Then they told me to send it back, I said no. Then they said they would send me the postage to mail it back. I said no you can come and get it. I do not have time to waste for a mistake they have made, or was it a mistake and not a underhanded marketing secieam?
Any way I do not want anything to do with Readers Digest. I have lost all respect for this company. Also they cutomer support in located out of this country who knows where. They are too cheap to pay an American that you can understand for this job. I have asked them to take us off their mailing list and remove us from their data base.

I am also receiving similar documents. Once I had to pay for a book, when they clearly say "No Purchase is necessary" in every sweepstake document condition. My name and address has been mixed up. I got the documents very late once (after the mandatory period). Even then I received new one very promptly. Now I am trying to contact customer service of BHE[protected] I am getting please check the number tape.
I think this is big fraud and need to be raised in public (no use of Parliament, it is another bigger fraud there :D).

as i am also made a credit card payment on 17 feb 09 and not recieving any copy and cust care told me that it will take 2 months after the payment date ??
