Reliance Communications — Illegal Charges Deduction for VAS

It is very irritative and worst experience with the services provided by RCOM. I have recharged my cell ([protected]) with Rs.100 . After that when I checked my balance I found Rs.30 was deducted for unknown reasons .After a long excercise and irritation,I was able to contact the customer care person
who after a long time told that "It is deducted for some Value Added Service " and the worst part of it is that I haven't subscribed for any such VAS.
To contact the customer care person of Reliance is itself a achivement as wrong and foolish IVR messages are fed like on dialing *333 it says "The number u have dialed is wrong ,pls check it " which after dialing 10 times becomes the right number. I have recharged my Vodafone and Airtel numbers many times using online services and there was not at all any problem and there has been no issue of auto subscription of VAS and they used to call back after locking complaints in case of issues.

This incident gives me a bad impression and worst thing is that the customer care person told me the VAS will be deactivated which I haven't activated .I am not getting any Value Added Service on my phone and it had made a firm belief in me of the faith of some people who told me never to use any reliance mobile .

I want it should be corrected promptly and I want a complete compensation for it .The unknown VAS should be deactivated and the charges should be reversed in any case with full compensation.I hope this issue will be resolved quickly and I wont have to move to Consumer Forum for this. This happened previously also and now I can't waste my time and energy on these type of foolish issues which are created due to your wrong system.

This is the above mail which I have sent to RCOM but the matter is not taken up seriously and I am still facing the problem.I hope you will ask them to solve the problem and help me to get the complete compensation for all the wastage of time and efforts.

I have been facing, forced deduction on unsubscribed VAS. The service being RMS.
The deductin have started happening from month of Nov-09. The same has been reported
with no avail. The total money lost on the subscription being RS 200, RMS was never activated.
Several attempts or reimbursement has been neglected with blatant excuses.

My Number :[protected] Location : Ranchi

Forced Value added services (VAS)

Written consent of the customer to be taken in case of any activation of VAS service. (Trai guidelines May 2009). No consent received from me, as a customer in all the cases.

The current practice pays no heed to TRAI specified guidelines and violates Customer Protection Rights.
The service providers have initiated a one way system, where complaints are closed without customer conformance.

The Clarify CRM deployed by Rcom does not propitiates effective customer handling interface and stores no history of customer complaints. The service delivery and customer management hierarchy are unable to provide any other answer except ( You have accidentally activated the service, we will take care of it)
Have been listening the same tune and Rs 30 is being timely deducted from the balance amount.

The situation is open and shut violation of the TRAI norms. Where customer is being misinformed and charged for the service which has not been availed.

My case not being single, the RCOM stores have many similar incidences, which becomes an ideal case of PIL.

I would suggest a customer relationship overhaul, a good monitoring of performance indicators and
a better way of delivering value added services.
