[Resolved]  Reliance Digital, Gurgaon — Harrowing experience with Reliance Digital, Gurgaon! Buy at your own risk!!

I purchased a window AC of Videocon make VWR5244 form Reliance Digital’s outlet at Ambience Mall, Gurgaon on 4th May 2008. Ever since I purchased the AC, I have been facing problems of multiple sorts.

1. I was promised that AC will be delivered on 5th May 08. I was eagerly waiting for its delivery till late evening, as it is first AC in my lifetime.

2. When I called up Reliance ResQ number (by the way I seriously suggest that they change the name of the center to “DistressQ” as the persons answering calls nowhere get close to rescuing the caller from problematic situation), after multiple calls, I got connected to an agent who rather said apologetically that AC could not be delivered due to strong winds and rain on 5th May 08 and promised delivery next day. I cursed the wind god for his hyperactivity that day while rest of Delhi was praying for a respite from intense heat through rain.

3. The AC was delivered late in the evening on 6th May 08 by a delivery person

4. The sales person at the time purchase promised that AC will be installed one day after delivery, hence I expected installation on 7th May 08.

5. I was surprised that no one turned up on 7th May 08. May be I was wrong in my expectations and I should have learnt with my day one experience that Reliance is not reliable!

6. After several attempts to call the service center, I got connected again to the service personnel who callously mentioned that AC will be eventually delivered. Reminded me of the great optimism we Indians generally carry.

7. On 8th May morning, I called up the center again just to remind them about the delivery. The blessed AC arrived on 8th May after 3 days of intense anticipation and waiting

8. The installation executives were haughty and displayed the attitude of doing me a favor by installing the AC. After the AC and stabilizer boxes were opened, came out the contents and the frantic search began for the remote. The remote did not show up even after several minutes of search. However, the stabilizer showed up with torn wires.

9. Again the rigmarole of calling the service center began. It looked like I was destined for a long term relationship with Reliance personnel – may be some past karma. The service center person displayed bravado and assured me to go ahead with installation promising that remote will be delivered to me the same day.

10. By this time the drama has become so intense making it difficult for me to handle the climaxes and anti-climaxes. To support me, my husband jumped into the fray leaving behind his hectic job schedule and commitments to phone up un-reliable people (oops I mean Reliance personnel) for next steps

11. The remote was promised on 9th May, it did not show up. Again several calls were made. The delivery date shifted to 10th May.

12. The remote was not delivered in the morning, calls were made and delivery was promised in afternoon. Afternoon passed by, with we missing the afternoon siesta in anticipation of the remote and it has not been delivered in the evening too

I really appreciate the courage of Mr. Harish Thakur (Service Manager), Mr. Praveen Kumar (Service Center Agent) and Mr. Vikas (Service Center Agent) for making repeated false promises about delivery and not showing even an iota of proactive approach and concern to empathize with me. They must have been assured solid job security else it is not possible to display such a stoic attitude. Also, Mr.Harish seem to be more busy with opening new Reliance counters rather than attending to customer issues.

The remote is critical as I bought an AC that functions only with the remote. So, we now have an expensive decorative piece adorning my bed room wall which is supposed to be an AC!

I have chosen to buy the AC from Reliance Digital for following reasons that

1) We will get a deal on the price and service
2) We can avoid dealing with the local electronic storekeepers, some of whom are notorious for providing mis-leading information, bad product and service
3) We will have access to the service center in hour of the need and do not have to run from pillar to post to solve the problem

I am disgusted that I am facing all the problems mentioned above. I failed to realize that while Reliance Digital has emulated the look and feel of large stores abroad they do not implement the international process for customer service.

For instance, DistressQ (ResQ) call center does not even have a basic practice of call wait. It operates just of one telephone number. If you are lucky you will get through else curse yourself for calling it!! There is no single mail id where you can write about your problems. Even today, they expect customers to show up at the showroom for problem resolution.

Also, this is the service they provide repeat customers. Prior to purchasing the AC, I bought a 32 inch Hitachi LCD TV for them. If they had a good customer relationship program, they would have identified my status and certainly not meted this kind of treatment to me!

I hope some responsible person in Reliance Digital is scanning this space for crucial inputs on service and will make necessary corrections.

If you love to be in the company of cheats, thugs and shameless con men, AND YOU HATE THE MONEY IN YOUR BANK OR POCKET, just walk in to Reliance Digital at the lovely Ambience Mall, Gurgaon. I assure you that you will not be disappointed !!! Having paid 41k for an LG Tromm almost a month ago, I am still waiting for it to be installed !!! Beat t6hat if you can !!!
I agree to the complaints/comments posted here by the users. I have bought a modular kitchen from Reliance digital world, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. What a horrifying experiance I cannot tell.
After 60 days of booking I have received the kitchen components and then assembling them to prepare has taken 15 more days.
Its just been 1 year and the components have started broken and lodging a complaint personally has not done anything good to me. I have been waiting to hear from them since past 4 days after lodging the complaint but no use. No contact number is of any use to me.
What more I can say is that RELIANCE COMPANY IS A CHOR COMPANY.
I Purchased Sony Micro hi-fi Music system from Reliance Digital Gurgaon on 8th March, 2009 with no Demo. After a gap of one month CD player stopped working.I lodged a complaint with reliance people
and was attended by an Engineer after a gap of one weekand assuered to replace the faulty part at earliest but no responce afterwards. Again i lodged a complaint with Mr.Lalit Singh on 10th May2009
and was responded next day but the problem was not rectified till date with repeated assurences on next day. I am highly disturbed by this attitute of Reliance Digital People, Gurgaon and hope some sense of responsibility will prevail on them.
Pathetic experience with regards to service. I am also the culprit of choosing Reliance Digital to purchase 32 inch LCD. The kind of problems I faced were really magnifying and I am suprised with the things are handled by their Delivery In charge Manager, Richa Bhatia. Even I was not allowed to escalate my concern stating that she is the only incharge. I had spent the whole day to get LCD delivered to my home which I have purchased last day.

In the end, JUST A REITERATION TO EVERYONE WHO WANT TO PURCHASE PRODUCT FROM RELIANCE DIGITAL, PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE CHOOSING THIS STORE.
This reliance digital store sucks in all manner and worse is they don't even want to correct it.
I can't believe that so many people are having problems with them. Well I am one of them...
1)I bought a cordless phone from them which after a month stopped working.
2)I bought an Apple Ipod nano gen.4 8gb...which is working but my ITunes does not read it(it reads my brother's ipod but not mine) and it does not even charge so i can't do anything on it cause it dosen't has anything in it!!
It would have been better if I had bought it from a local store cause Relaince Digital, Gurgaon is not at all relaiable. For those folks who haven't bought anything till now and are taking a risk to buy something, I warn you..."Think thrice before you buy anything" cause according to me it's not worth it.
I once bought an electric toaster and on opening the box at home found the brown controlling knob to be broken.Don't ever buy any of the perfumes from them before comparing the fragrance with the ones available at Debenhams. The R of Reliance means Rotten and you can go to their Food stores for confirmation. I have purchased many of their Organic packed stuff and thrown in the garbage bin. The fresh produce stocked were fresh in B.C, but being sold in A.D.!
Reliance Digital / ResQ does not even seem to have a website where one can go to collect information about them. Hard to believe in this day and age that this is the case? Especially for a shop that calls itself Reliance 'Digital'.

I exhausted myself googling for it...If anyone has their website please post it.
i fully agree with all of you as i m also suffering. i purchsed samsung fully automatic washing machine and paid 16.3K and they have supplied me broken machin now i am waiting for the replacement
Any idea, how such complaints can be escalated as I have had a similar experience as well and it is terrible.

This is to bring to the notice that I had recently, about 2 weeks ago, purchased a Samsung AC, from Reliance Digital in the Shipra Mall, Ghaziabad. The product was delivered on the same day and the installation man came on the next day to fix it.

However, it was not a Samsung technician but a Reliance technician who did not install one of the part from which the water drains out, also called the AC tray. This was noticed after the installation was complete and after a few days, when the water was accumulating inside the AC. This was not good and hence I raised a complaint immediately with the Reliance Helpline and I was given a compaint number, 371202. However, I did mention that I needed the technician to attend to it ASAP as I have my deadlines etc. work schedule and so on but the lady in the helpline mentioned that she was not responsible for it which was absurd. This means there is no coordination at all. Anyways, the technician did manage to come the next day and fixed the AC tray after which it was working fine. However, he fixed the front cover of the AC in a way such that it is completely broken and is hanging loose. When asked, he mentioned that it must be in that way only for cleaning the front filter which was absurd.

I raised another complaint, 373853 as by now I was pretty much frustrated with the customer service and the incompetant technicians, who were not able to fix it in the first go as the delight of owning a good branded AC just shattered. I have an AC from LG as well but it has performed well and no issues until date. This complaint is yet to attended and I have not yet heard back anything for this which means there will be a delay.

I am really surprised that the Reliance Digital customer care is not at all upto the mark and I should have actually purchased the AC from the real Samsung showroom which would have saved me so much frustration and trouble. Also, they are not very helpful as well.

I would already announce in my workplace and inform all my friends anc colleagues, never to buy any electronics product from Reliance Digital showroom as it is not worth it at all. If you are going to pay the money, always a good deal to go directly the specific brand showroom and purchase it from there and save onself from so much hassle, trouble and frustration.

I bought Samsung Star phone today from Reliance Digital, Gurgaon on 29th Aug, 09 and at that time we were told that its has Wi-Fi feature but when we bought and check it out, no wi-fi feature is there in phone. We conctac the concerned person for exchange of phone as its stlll in packing bt still its not exchanged :( can u pls look into this issue and if possible can u pls help us in exchanhing of the phone ...i want to replace it with Nokia phone. Can u pls reply me on the above mentioned mail or call me at [protected] .

Thanks everyone. I have in all my interactions at reliance digital found the staff akin to the govt babudom--not interested. In any case after reading your experiences I think i shall drop the idea of a ps3 from them!
i have bought the samusung LCD tv on 02/10/2009 at 4:00 PM. that day they have not delivered the TV and they delivered it on 04/10/2009 at 4:00 PM. Today is 07/10/2009. till now noone responded to install the TV. when i tried to call the sevice desk at banjara hills, there is no response from them and they even not answering the calls. they donot bothered in answering the calls. i just want to know, is this the way you deal the customers. i would like to cancel the sale of the product. please let me know the process. i would like to suggest my friends and collegues the way you treat the customers.
I agree that Relaince Digital is worst in service, They are selling thier products only. I asked the sales person to give me Samsung Oven, but the guy pushed me to go for godrej atleast 100 times. They even say that the stock which we like is not available.

Please don't purchase any product from Reliance Digital.
Reliance has done a blunder by opening chain of stores by employing people with full of attitude n poor response to their esteemed customers.i had a very bad experience by bying an philips toaster from Reliance Jalandhar.pathetic service and pathetic attitude.Disgrace to Reliance service i must say.
agree with you all, basic thumb rule is :
- Never buy any item from Reliance Digital GURGAON

They will suck you mentally, physically and monetarily(phone bills due to repeated reminder calls).

This is because of my personal experiance with them after buying LG beauty mobile. NITIN, PRABHAT great managers but do not have mangerial skills.
Reliance digital seems to have employed veteran and habitual liars who dupe the customers and the customers face immense problems & mental harrassment alongwith torture.
Hi, I pity on myself why I went to this Reliance store to buy a washing machine. I bought a washing machine ( Godrej ) on 31/01/10 and it costed us 14, 990 MRP with a 10% discount and Rs1103 extra for AMC for an additional year. While making the payment the sales representative Nitin specifically confirmed us 4 times that the machine will be delivered in maroon color. On Monday, they delivered the washing machine around 1.30pm and when my husband came in evening and opened the top cover slightly, he found out that the washing machine was of Silver color. I immediatly called up Reliance world and after a long long time some Dilip Srivastava picked up the phone.I told him what has happened and he said that you are right as billing has be done for maroon color only and that he has to see in the warehouse why wrong color was delieverd. I asked him that shall I call him at 11am next day. He said mam I will not give you a chance to call, I will myself call you. In the meanwhile he gave me his number which is [protected]. On Tuesday I did not receive a call till 11am so I called up reliance store and after approximatley 40 min some Varun Sharma who calls himself customer care manager picked up the fone. He apologized many times and assured me that this matter will be sorted out asap and will call me before 5 pm with the resolution. At around 1.45pm I received a call from Dilip and he told me that the godrej rep wants to talk to me. I said ok and he put him on line. The rep of godrej said that by mistake somebody charged you for the silver color and not the maroon color and that if I need a maroon color I need to pay them extra. I was pissed of badly. I again contacted Dilip and he accepted his company's fault that the maroon color washing machine had incorrect price listed on it. Was that our fault? We paid what we were asked for and now they are saying that we need to pay extra to get the marron color. This is pathetic and inhuman. Reliance digital sucks and so there employees. I will go to court and file a case against this company and dilip and varun. My life's biggest mistake was to buy a product from Reliance digital. Had I been known the fact that the customer service and his manager are so pathetic I would have never bought anything. At the time of money they need full payment and at the time of customer grieveance they are not willing to help us. I make sure that I get my money back and that too with a compensation. RELIANCE IS FULL OF .
I do agree with your problem and feel that it has happen to me rather. I think you should definetely go to comsumer court and pursue the case further. I know it is hectic and time comsuming but you have already taken a step towards it by posting online and the result is some one like me took the time and stood with your problem. Ther are many ways we can make this organisation feel that consumers do matter.

I just discovered a debit from my bank account for almost $2, 000.00 from this company and I have NEVER HEARD OF THEM!!!
Alas ! i would have read all this before buying washing machine and microwave from Reliance digital 1 week back, same problem i have been facing, till now it is not installed. I am repenting.
I suggest all propect buyer pls dont buy from Reliance digital and if you have to but pay after installation only.
