[Resolved]  Reliance Digital, Gurgaon — Harrowing experience with Reliance Digital, Gurgaon! Buy at your own risk!!

I purchased a window AC of Videocon make VWR5244 form Reliance Digital’s outlet at Ambience Mall, Gurgaon on 4th May 2008. Ever since I purchased the AC, I have been facing problems of multiple sorts.

1. I was promised that AC will be delivered on 5th May 08. I was eagerly waiting for its delivery till late evening, as it is first AC in my lifetime.

2. When I called up Reliance ResQ number (by the way I seriously suggest that they change the name of the center to “DistressQ” as the persons answering calls nowhere get close to rescuing the caller from problematic situation), after multiple calls, I got connected to an agent who rather said apologetically that AC could not be delivered due to strong winds and rain on 5th May 08 and promised delivery next day. I cursed the wind god for his hyperactivity that day while rest of Delhi was praying for a respite from intense heat through rain.

3. The AC was delivered late in the evening on 6th May 08 by a delivery person

4. The sales person at the time purchase promised that AC will be installed one day after delivery, hence I expected installation on 7th May 08.

5. I was surprised that no one turned up on 7th May 08. May be I was wrong in my expectations and I should have learnt with my day one experience that Reliance is not reliable!

6. After several attempts to call the service center, I got connected again to the service personnel who callously mentioned that AC will be eventually delivered. Reminded me of the great optimism we Indians generally carry.

7. On 8th May morning, I called up the center again just to remind them about the delivery. The blessed AC arrived on 8th May after 3 days of intense anticipation and waiting

8. The installation executives were haughty and displayed the attitude of doing me a favor by installing the AC. After the AC and stabilizer boxes were opened, came out the contents and the frantic search began for the remote. The remote did not show up even after several minutes of search. However, the stabilizer showed up with torn wires.

9. Again the rigmarole of calling the service center began. It looked like I was destined for a long term relationship with Reliance personnel – may be some past karma. The service center person displayed bravado and assured me to go ahead with installation promising that remote will be delivered to me the same day.

10. By this time the drama has become so intense making it difficult for me to handle the climaxes and anti-climaxes. To support me, my husband jumped into the fray leaving behind his hectic job schedule and commitments to phone up un-reliable people (oops I mean Reliance personnel) for next steps

11. The remote was promised on 9th May, it did not show up. Again several calls were made. The delivery date shifted to 10th May.

12. The remote was not delivered in the morning, calls were made and delivery was promised in afternoon. Afternoon passed by, with we missing the afternoon siesta in anticipation of the remote and it has not been delivered in the evening too

I really appreciate the courage of Mr. Harish Thakur (Service Manager), Mr. Praveen Kumar (Service Center Agent) and Mr. Vikas (Service Center Agent) for making repeated false promises about delivery and not showing even an iota of proactive approach and concern to empathize with me. They must have been assured solid job security else it is not possible to display such a stoic attitude. Also, Mr.Harish seem to be more busy with opening new Reliance counters rather than attending to customer issues.

The remote is critical as I bought an AC that functions only with the remote. So, we now have an expensive decorative piece adorning my bed room wall which is supposed to be an AC!

I have chosen to buy the AC from Reliance Digital for following reasons that

1) We will get a deal on the price and service
2) We can avoid dealing with the local electronic storekeepers, some of whom are notorious for providing mis-leading information, bad product and service
3) We will have access to the service center in hour of the need and do not have to run from pillar to post to solve the problem

I am disgusted that I am facing all the problems mentioned above. I failed to realize that while Reliance Digital has emulated the look and feel of large stores abroad they do not implement the international process for customer service.

For instance, DistressQ (ResQ) call center does not even have a basic practice of call wait. It operates just of one telephone number. If you are lucky you will get through else curse yourself for calling it!! There is no single mail id where you can write about your problems. Even today, they expect customers to show up at the showroom for problem resolution.

Also, this is the service they provide repeat customers. Prior to purchasing the AC, I bought a 32 inch Hitachi LCD TV for them. If they had a good customer relationship program, they would have identified my status and certainly not meted this kind of treatment to me!

I hope some responsible person in Reliance Digital is scanning this space for crucial inputs on service and will make necessary corrections.

Agree with the set of complaints on this forum. I had recently bought a refrigerator an LG 604 Ltr, on the 28th of March. Till date, the refrigerator's deep freezer does not work.

More than 4 people have come to our place - every one comes & changes the settings - and expects the deep freezer to start working, but that has not happened till date. Everytime, you call up, they will promise to call back in 10 minutes. That will never happen. People, in the background will shout on the staff, just to make you feel happy on the cell. But nothing will happen. No I am running after LG people. Hopefully, they will get this done. Else, I will be left with no other option but to go to the consumer forum and lodge a complaint again RD and LG.

Their customer care no[protected] is difficult to get thru. You will be lucky, of you get thru this number after 100 tries.

Reliance Digital is a chor company. Now I know, how Mukesh Ambani is getting his house built for 2 Billion USD in Mumbai.

I am facing the similiar problem, as i too bought a split ac of 1.5 ton of godrej neon..they have a pathetic team of engineers..who dont knw their work..the guys came and installed my ac in a hurry and did not wait till the collong took place..Its been 5 days..the cooling is not happening and there is no respite to the problem.

The ac was bought on 11th of april 2010 from reliance digital gurgaon, they came to install it on wednesday 14th of april 2010 and due to wrong instalation there is no cooling atall, I had lodged a written complaint on 17th of april 2010 and I had to visit twice to ambience mall as their landline is mostly busy and there are only promises and no action atall.

Horriic experience that even after spending 32000 ruppes on the ac, we have to go thru such experiece..

I bought, Hitachi AC from them, and at the time of installation they sent some gali wala AC install guys to fit that, who dont know how to install that...


After six month, when I called up Hitachi to service my AC, they politly told me "what all the product Reliance Digital sells, they provide service for those products, not the manufacturer". Obiously Reliance digital dont hace trained staff to do that work, and you are left to repent on your decision of buying stuff from them,


So guys double check that from where you will get the service and what quality of service.
I completly agree with you. I just came back from US and made a mistake of buying2.5 lacs worth of items from them. There were many problems, with delivery, after sales service, non functioning stablizers. I will never visit them again
I am agreed that Relaince Digital is worst in service, They are selling thier products only. I bought Voltas AC, from Reliance Digital, Ambience Mall on March, 10, when i receive ac grill of AC is not well we discuss this matter with Manager of service center. he assure that u establish ac we will change, after that he is not picking phone we made serveral compliants in service center the response of service center is not good . for a big group its requires that customer satisfaction is first

NEVER EVR BUY ANYTHING FROM Ambience Mall, Gurgaon. We bought a washing machine and a colour television set from there. At the time of delivery they told us that sombody from reliance will visit us personally and give us the demo of the products. After 2 days what we got was a call, saying they won't be able to come.
After 6 months, washing machine started giving some problem. We called them up and lodged a complaint but till now no action is taken. Everytime we call; they lodge a new complaint saying the old one is lost and new complaint will be served in next 48 hrs. Almost a week is past, 3 complaints are lodged, no action is taken.
I think the vendors in local markets provide far -2 better service, then what we are getting from RELIANCE DIGITAL.
I am never ever going to buy anything from there again.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM RELIANCE DIGITAL PLEASE!!!SERIOUSLY..YOU WILL BE IN FOR SERIOUS QUALITY AND SERVICE ISSUES(UNRESOLVED) IF YOU WERE TOO.

By mistake i bought a samsung window a/c from reliance digitial on May 2010.
The a/c is working properly but when the time for free service check comes nobody is even bother.

Their moto i think is to just increase their sales target by selling products only,
after SALES been done thet their moto is CUSTOMER JAYE CHULE MEIN.

Agreed, purchased Samsung washing machine from Reliance Digital (the worst company). it was promised that machine will be delivered same day, delivered next day at night after 15 calls made at customer service number. Now i am still waiting for the engineer for installation.Its been 2 days now. I don't know what to do with this packed machine.Really pissed off with these shameless guys. They just don't turn up.

TO my surprise i found the accounts person BLAMING ME FOR BUYING A DEFAULT PIECE AND I SHOULD GET IT REPAIRED MY SELF with the warranty ..

reliance digital,gurgaon mall. — Fraud

I have opted for a loan through bajaj finance from Reliance digital,Ambiance Mall,Gurgaon.
The loan was granted on 5'th December 2010.i finished the formalities and they assured the fridge would be delivered in 3days,after long wait they delivered the refrigerator and to our shock and dismay the fridge had big dent in back and small dents in the front,the engineer came and checked the fridge and reported to Reliance.The Manager at reliance assured to replace the fridge.we waited for more than a month with
repeated calls but in vain,after several days they made the delivery ,this time for a worse shock,they had bought 3 refrigerator,2 of them with dents and scratches,the third one was not in proper shape,the packing was not done,it seemed dusty.we had no choice and as after a long wait we had to take the fridge as the bank loan was already approved.After 2 days the fridge started making weired noises.
I don't want to fall into this vicious cycle for getting it repaired often,I pusrchased it for 48000.this is not a small amount.This is Fraud by reliance and this unacceptable.

You cannot connect to Relaince Digital, Ambience Mall, Gurgaon unless you have spend an hour trying there number and later the response is that the concerned person is away and will revert you back. And you are foolishly waiting for his response and then try your luc again.

When you are frustrated, then you decide to go the far pace yourself, spending 200-300 Rs for trip and additionaly spending your worthy time.

I advice you to never buy products specially electronics from there.

It is first AC that i am buying and the whole experience has turned up as bitter. It fades away the excitement of buying.

You cannot connect to Relaince Digital , Ambience Mall, Gurgaon unless you have spend an hour trying there number and later the response is that the concerned person is away and will revert you back. And you are foolishly waiting for his response and then try your luc again.

i bought so many products from reliance digital kolkata but touch wood so far my experience is excellent with them, in terms of service and products.wish them all the best and expecting to explore more stores in futures so that everyone fulfills their product needs..in my obseve only reliance have their own service which is exclusive for all the buyers.
I have purchased Whirlpool fully automatic washing machine 4 months back from Reliance digital and since then there is problem in the product. Two times it has already been repaired. The Whirlpool service centre does not attend complaints now saying that you have to complaint in Reliance and in Reliance people are so slow and irresponsible that even after three days of my complaint not event a service engineer attended the complaint. Never buy products from Reliance as you will be totally confused, who will give service the product company or the Reliance.

I bought a brand new Whirlpool refrigrator 8months back from Reliance and it gave lot of trouble finally I had lodged a complaint at Reliance but it didn't work. There was noboby to help and we were stuck without a fridge for about two months finally I had contacted Whirlpool directly and they at initial stage stage reffered that Reliance will only be able to help than I had to get stricked and with great difficulty the fridge was changed few days ago. After which they told that there would be somebody from the installation department to setup but nobody turnedup and even after the time was fixed by the Reliance no body turned up and we had to sit back home waiting. Finally wer opened the boxed and got it done ourselves. PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANY THING FROM RELIANCE AS THEY WOULD NEVER GIVE SERVICES AND ONLY KNOW HOW TO SELL THE PRODUCT AND BEYOND THAT THEY ARE RUDE. PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANY THING FROM THERE.

Thanks people for these comments. I was hoping to repeat my mistake of buying my second A/C from Reliance retail after a Voltas AC around two years back from Reliance Digital Indirapuram.

While the installation was supposedly free the installation guy charged me 300 rs for putting up a ply. Post that I even received a call from the installation guy asking me to pay up the rest of the installation money as the reliance guys were not giving him his fees of installation. While I asked him to go [censored] himself, couldn't help feeling sorry for the poor chap.

I had paid extra for year long servicing by Reliance Digital, which I was never able to avail as there was were no one who would pick up that damn service line number. Post that we shifted to Gurgaon and the long pending service agreement became lost history.

Now when I am looking for second AC, I had forgotten about my experience and was searching for the Reliance Digital showroom in Gurgaon when I came across this post. Thanks again !!
