Reliance General Insurance — Non issue of Policy document | |
I bought Travel Insurance for my family online from Reliance General Insurance on Sep 24. My credit card was charged and a policy number was issued to me. But, when I wanted to view and print my policy for my travel, I could not access the policy online. I called Reliance on Sep 25. The Service rep, after collecting all the basic info (which was already there in the system) asked me to send an email to their "services" department so that they can email me the policy doc. She assured me, "you will definitely get a response". As I did not get any response for 2 days, I called them again on Sep 27. This time, I got a complaint number and the response, "you will get an email with policy in the next 24 hours". I called up on Sep 28 as I did not have any emails. I was told, it was not 24 hours yet and I needed to wait for a few more hours. I called up again, after making sure it was 24 hours since my complaint. The rep said, "You will get an email as soon as possible". I was very frustrated with this and asked for his supervisor's name and phone. He said, "Sorry, we cannot give that info out". So, here I am spending my time chasing a policy doc, which should have been mailed out to me routinely. On top of this inefficiency, there is no way to escalate the poor quality of service to anyone!! This, in my mind, is border-line fraud.
