Samsung CRT monitor — Unfair treatment regarding replacement during warranty
I have purchased a Samsung 17" CRT monitor, model no. 793S in March, 2006. After about 2.5 years, the monitor was giving some problem and I took it to Samsung Authorsied Service Centre for repair. The monitor has a 3 years warranty and was still under warranty. They took around 20 days to get back to me to say that the monitor is irrepairable and I can get the replacement for the same. After few days, I got a call that I can either get the monitor replaced with the adjustment of only 60% of the original price I paid for it or I can get back 60% of the price as refund.The argument given is that since I have used the monitor for more than 2 years, the value of monitor has depreciated by 40%.
Why should the value of monitor be depreciated? I have purchased the monitor assuming that it would last more than the warranty period. If a fault has occured in the unit within warranty period, company should replace it without applying any depreciation. After all, the monitor is of the same value to me even if the company consider the value to be depreciated.

Samsung CRT monitor — the worst part of service
Even if they have the on-site service facility...the service center present at Forest Park area, Bhubaneswar, demanded to bring the product to their service center...No matter...The way they treated shows that the people working at that particular Samsung service center. are really rude...They behave as if a uneducated rogue...The staffs also didn't forget to discuss on the matter what me and my friend were talking about...And passed comments...This was really disheartening...Then I lodged a complaint regarding this issue on the official website...
There has been no response since 20 days...So where is the reliability??????
