I received an email on 10 August 2008 similar to the ones above indicating I had won 200, 000 GB pounds. There was a typographical error in the 1st sentence so, to investigate further I replied asking for instructions on collecting the prize and received the following email with the company name of "Shell Petroleum Development Company o[censored].K." at the top surrounded by the Shell logo at either end:

i too recieved a similar mail saying i have won 800, 000 great billion pounds and i need to get in touch with Mr. Philip Durand to get my claims.
i don understand one thing after googling about this i learnt such scams and people who devise such scams play with so many emotions.
what are cyber laws doing to nab such emailer culprits coz many people get fooled and may be even trapped in such stupid things.

hi.i also received the same mail.and 1st day i had replied but thank god my address was incorrect.2day i have got the 2nd letter from the same id.and when i have tried the contact no given in the mail.then i realized that most probably it is fake.bcz number is not in use.but i want to sure what was that?
