[Resolved]  SOTC travel planners — Cheating

i completely agree but am equally powerless to do something about it. We are from calcutta and we awere planning for an SOTC Euro trip. The company has been playing hide and seek with us and have totally messed up our itinerary. They have made a mess of our Visa arrangements forcing us to take matters into our own hands and traveling to the visa office twice to fix this. One day we are leaving from Delhi before the trip and then just two days before, they make tickets for a departure from Bombay. they are completely unaware of any travel plans and we have been harassed to no end concerning this group. the same person organizing our trip seems to be sleeping most of the time and is most incompetent. nobody seems to be knowing anything or doing anything. only after we raise the issue do they suddenly wake up and make a total mess of it again. Even if we complain to the higher levels, they are still confused and equally stupid. we regret our decision to use SOTC and we cannot do anything now that the money has been paid. This is the sort of service one expects from a company such as this? This is the sort of service first time travelers receive?We are supposed to be going on a holiday but it seems that we have to take another holiday to recover from this 'holiday'. SOTC should be taken out behind the shed and shot.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS TRAVEL COMPANY IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON A HOLIDAY. YOU WILL REGRET IT.

i had given all the doucment and money for the trip.I havent got my passport back.trip is on date 9 aug 2008.what sholud i do

dear friend, as these might be few cases out of thousand cases where people have traveled with the company SOTC very happily. we are regular travelers with this company and had a wonderful experience with their services and caring and friendly nature of their staff...

my appeal to my all friends is to give another chance to this my favorite service provider and you will also get the same level of service.

WE TOTALY AGREE V HAD BOOKED OUR EURO WELL BEFORE IN ADVANCE THAT IS ONE AND A HALF MONTH BACK BUT STIL TODAY WE HAVENT GOT OUR PASSPORT VISA N ITENARI THIS WAS OUR HONEYMOON TRIP WHICH THEY HAVE MESSED UP COMPLETELY

sir i was booked sotc tour for europe, me and my friend was pay 30000 thousad+visa fee 10700 in ldhaina punjab.and sotc staff miss.sucheta and mr vanit kapoor tell us if any problem in your visa your payment will be refund.we have no any tour code or confermation .we have only receipts of payment paid to sotc.sir/mam our visa was refused but the sotc staff not refund my money.what i can do.i want file the case in consumer court against sotc.
BRING OUR COMPLAINT IN THE NOTICE OF HIGH LEVEL SOTC MANAGMENT AND TAKE ACTION AGAINT THOSE WHO INVOLVE IN THIS

I am happy with the services provided by SOTC on tour.
We 05 members travelld to Europe during this summer & was taken good care off by SOTC tour manager...we enjoyed every day while on tour...the meals & sightseeings were organised in a very nice manner. Can trust on SOTC tours in future also

We had 14 day's Europe tour organised by S.O.T.C. It was excellant.

My parents have booked a trip with SOTC, in Rajiv Chowk Delhi. for Europe which ends at london. They applied for the london visa which got cancelled and we came to know that a week back. We do not travel internationally so we my parents were unaware about any cancellation charges.
Like someone would think if you dont even get a visa well in advance why would someone be cha
rged thecancellation charges for ticket and hotel bookings.

After we the cancellation happened no one bothered to tell us that we can apply again.My parents were depending on SOTC for every arrangement because thats what you expetc from a company like this. So when they had applied for the Visa my parents had given all the papers which to my understanding were bare minimum and would not have been sufficient for the application for the Visa...but my parents thought that ofcourse its a big company and they know better...

So the trip flies of 19th April 2009 and we get a call from SOTC on the 1st of april that there is a cancellation charge of Rs.40, 000 per person if they do not fly and cancel the trip...this my parents were unaware about. The visa denial had happened on 23rd of March, 2009

Then i took up the matter and since we were left with no time in hands to re-apply for the visa i managed it with all the documents required for the UK embassy by the 3rd. Now the UK embassy says that we can get the Visa only in 10 working days. That means there will be good friday, monday holiday of easter and 2 weekends...so the 10 working days will bring us to the 21st.of March if it takes the maximum no. of days...

There will be no time to apply for the European Visa.

Now incase we have time to aply for the EU visa if the UK visa comes on time we are asking for the Booking itneary, ticket details and hotel bookings from SOTC...but they are saying that they can not provide those details as they are group booking details and they cant give it to anyone.Besides these details are not availabe with them until 4 days before travel.

Then in that case what do they have to charge 40, 000 cancellation charge for ???

The visa got denied because of them anyways cuz they never gave the required papers in the first place..

And everyone is so unprofessional u cant imagine...really other small travel and tour companies would be much better and more dependable.

Please some one tell me if you have
some advice.. we are very short of time and my parents are about to loose one lakhg rupees only on planing their first trip abroad with already a "applied for" on the passport.
