We a group of 8 persons of 2 Families visited Singapore & Kualalumpur in a 7N/8D package of SOTC.The entire tour was mismanaged & the Hotels they booked is not even 1star ranking in India whereas they told that those are 3star catagories.The Breakfast is Horrible in Indian standard.Till the last day of boarding We are in a dilemma about the tour & lastly couldnot be picked for Airport at Singapore & nobody was there to listen to us.The half-day City tour at Kulalumpur started at 10am & finished at 12noon without even shown anything except the Chocolate Factory & Jadd's batic center the 2 commercial places.The experience to travel with SOTC is horrible.Please check before you book with it.

    Mantely harassed by Mr. Sanjeev Bhargava while planning the honey moon package for far east and now delaying the passport return and Rs.20000 which has been firstly asked by him to process the package request.

    I was planning my honey moon trip to far east Malaysia and Singapore, I trusted SOTC so got the number of sotc jaipur and marked them a mail mentioning my tour requirements.
    Mr. sanjeev from jaipur reverted back with the package details and a approx. cost of the package, then finally when I moved ahead they asked me to forward mine and my wife’s passport and a cheque of Rs.20000 in the favor of kuoni to make the final tour package.
    I forwarded the required things then the final package cost was given to me previously the package cost was Rs.90000 per person and the final cost that he gave me was Rs.102178 then I said ok.
    Then what went wrong was one destination was langkawi islands there I asked a stay of 3 nights and in my first requirement mail also it was 3 nights at langkawi but the package offered to me was mentioning it as 2 nights when I brought this thing in the notice of Mr. sanjeev he refused to agree that, he has previously forwarded me the package cost with 3 nigths at langkawi but when I forwarded him the mail that he has forwarded me previously it was clearly mention as 3 nights at langkawi then he accepted the fault this was the first issue that came.
    Secondly when I told him to mark me a mail mentioning that this is the final package cost and rs 20000 has been forwarded by me and balance amount that I have to forward on 09.06.2010 4.00pm after 2 hrs at near about 6.00 pm he gave me a call and told sir Rs.2000 more I will be charging you per person due to some mistake in the room category at langkawi, then I said sir before going this is the condition then what will happen when I will be out of my country and since you are continuously changing the tour cost after giving me the final cost and not keeping up to your commitments so kindly cancel my booking and when I asked will there be any cancellation charges then mr sanjeev said no since nothing has been booked so no cancellation charges will be there, so within one week I will transfer the amount of rs.20000 in your account and within 2 days I will return your passports.
    But now after 5 days he says that there will be cancellation charges of Rs.8600 since I have already booked flight tickets and till date I have not received both the passports
    Now this is not right since he was not trust worthy I thought to cancel my booking when asked about any cancellation charges he refused neither he had mailed me any such cancellation policy , but now he wants to charge me the cancellation.
    If at the time I asked him to cancel the trip if he would have intimated me about this cancellation amount then I would have not cancelled the booking that time he said no cancellation charges on 09.6.2010 but today on 14.06.2010 he says that there will be cancellation charges.

    Now I am stuck up and felt cheated I want some action about this thing .

      We have paid a sum of Rs 20000/- wide cheque to SOTC , Kanpath Office wide cheque No 787069 on 15 Jan 2009 towards advance booking of travel for Grand Tour of Europe.
      Due to non availability of suitable the there has been no travel possible, nor any booking dates confirmed by the Company.
      The company is not making refunds of booking amount despite regular requests to there office

        I Sri SAIKAT SADHUKHAN, booked a package tour of Goa with SOTC Kuoni Travel Group, India at DA-32 Salt Lake City, Kolkata - 700 064. West Bengal. on that account I had deposited Rs. 7500/- on12.06.2008. But due to some personal reason I could not avil the tour & cancelled it, and also inform them almost 10 days before the jurny. And they inform me that I shall get back my mony after some deduction. Till date I have not get back any amount from them. This type of harassment is a clear case of CHEATING.

          Names:Jagadheeschand Kasi Venkatram and Smt Vanaja Kasi Jagadheeschand.SOTC Tour -All o[censored]SA code149/ 04.06.My emails and telephone calls did not elicit satisfactory response.I am a retired Dy.G.M of SBI and every Rupee matters.Despite telling this to SOTC my grievance was not redressed.They may side track the issues and drag indefinitely which I cannot manage and hence this request to you for intervention and favourable orders.(1)Secure booking depositRs 1000/each was levied which is not applicable to us, as only an advance of Rs 20000/each was collected on the date of booking19/11/2008, and there is no question of"securinng' itand no intention of cancelling our tour.             In Apr this year I booked Turkey and Greece tour through SOTC. I have toured with many tour operators (local and international both) in the past, but this was the worst experience for me on an organized tour! The kind of experience I went through dealing with SOTC, right from booking stage to post tour interaction was simply worst.

            My personal recommendation is to avoid SOTC at any cost. If they cannot provide you promised good accommodation, good food, comfortable travel and good coverage of the destination – in short meet basic expectations – then they are not the tour company you would want to tour with. SOTC as concluded by all the tour members (customers) on this tour is a mis-managed, un-professional tour company providing worst possible service for the premium amount they charge you.

            *********How SOTC cheated on this tour:**************

            ~Misleading Itinerary~:
            SOTC purposely kept the itinerary vague with just 1-2 liners describing each day’s schedule. Even on our insistence, they never shared the detailed itinerary and kept on offering some excuse or other for not sharing it. The reason; they did not want their itinerary to serve us as means of comparison with other tour operators (their competitors). Had they shared it with us, we would not have toured with them since they were skipping most of the famous attractions (in spite of their premium charge for the tour) in the destination cities.

            ~Tour itinerary was changed at 11th hour~:
            The USP (unique selling point) of this tour was visit to Santorini Island in Greece. While SOTC decided to remove its main selling point from the itinerary, they didn’t even bother to inform the customers who primarily booked the tour to visit Santorini. Tour group was only informed about this change on Day 1 of the tour while SOTC knew about this change more than 2-3 weeks ahead of the departure. The basic purpose of touring with SOTC was lost for most o[censored]s with this unexpected change in itinerary.

            ~4 days free on 9 days tour!~:
            The total tour was of 9 days, of which 3 days were on cruise and 6 days for site seeing in Turkey and Greece. Of these 6 days, 4 days were offered free days by SOTC, leaving only 2 days (one day each) to cover these 2 historic countries where there are abundant tourist attractions to visit! The pretext offered by SOTC for free days was, it is required for relaxation. It left the group to wonder who among them really wanted 45% of tour time to relax after paying such a hefty amount. The answer however appeared simple. By offering more free days, SOTC was saving on the local site seeing cost including travel, local guide, entry tickets for attractions etc.

            ~Cheap Hotel Selection~:
            All the while during the booking process SOTC boasted itself for its hotel selection which usually is a 3 to 4 star property. The Athens (Greece) hotel however was not even 1 star and the group wondered if it was even a rated hotel. It was 4-5 staffer hotel with virtually no service provided for any kind of work, which usually is available in any 3-4 starrer hotel. Customers had to manage everything on their own including carrying their luggage to the rooms, fetching drinking water, arranging cups for tea etc!

            ~Food~:
            One of the reasons for most of customers to select SOTC was the promise to provide Indian veg food on all days of the tour. While SOTC doesn’t provide lunches on their tours (for the reason best known to them), they could not even provide good dinners. The food that was served on most of the days was either inadequate or poor quality, with absolutely no choice available. E.g. we were served with boiled rice and boiled potatoes for dinner on one of the days. More often than not, we were required to buy food to supplement what was provided by SOTC, incurring additional cost!

            ~Worst Tour Guide/Manager~:
            To the group’s surprise it was also the first tour on this sector for the tour manager/guide (Diana)! And she appeared just another tourist alike other tour members with her prime objective being visit a new country, enjoy the tour like other tourist, do duty-free shopping wherever possible, gather new information etc. Most of the passengers on this tour had more information about the 2 countries than her but she was unfazed by this fact. She stayed aloof from the group as if she has been burdened to tour with them and never executed any of her duties as a guide like co-ordination, keeping group together, smile while talking, helping the passengers etc. Some of her remarks on Maharashtra’s history as compared to Turkish history also indicated her insensitive nature, so much so that some of the tour members felt offended.

            ~Hidden Charges~:
            When I booked the tour, I specifically asked if there were hidden chargers to which I received a big NO as answer. On the first day of the tour however, the tour guide asked to deposit with her 2 EUR per day per person as ‘TIP’ and called it a mandatory affair. It was probably first of its kind experience for the group where the touring company was making additional money in this form, or was it the tour guide??

            Also, on this comprehensive tour, it came as surprise that the some of the attractions requiring entry ticket where not included in the itinerary leaving customers to buy the ticket and visit on their own. Can such a trip be called ‘All Inclusive’ as claimed by SOTC?

            As a result of all the above, everyone ended up spending additional amount to the tune of 50% of total tour cost on top of the amount they already paid to SOTC for this ‘all cost covered’ tour.

            There are so many other points to share on the mis-management and poor service of SOTC, but let’s now jump to the complaint part!!

            For the heavy price that the group on this tour had to pay in terms of time, money, mental peace and above all ruining their family vacation, all the tour members jointly lodged a complaint with SOTC’s GM Customer Service (Carol Hiller) in Mumbai on their return and demanded that SOTC return 50% of tour cost for the miseries they had to go through. But it all went on deaf ears. Like any other irresponsible entity, SOTC didn’t waste any time to shrug of the accountability (passing the blame to the vendors to whom they have outsources the activities like food, accommodation etc). Even for things that were under their direct control (like the poor tour design, poor selection of tour guide, hidden charges, misleading information etc), they didn’t show any remorse or bother to investigate further, in spite of all the evidences provided to them. Probably they were aware of it but didn’t want to officially acknowledge it. Had they accepted it, it would have tarnished their image of being best in the industry (that’s the illusion they are still living in!).

            The entire episode has left us with most traumatic experience of being cheated for their hard earned money. For some of the members in the group, this was second similar bad experience with SOTC and they have pledged not to tour with them again. So is the case with first timers too.

            We are also contemplating to write to the organizers of the tourism awards. If their basis to award Best Tour operator is based on customer feedback, then let them hear these views too!

              DEAR SIR/MADAM,

              MY WIFE WAS WORKING WITH SOTC MUMBAI OFFICE AND SHIFTED TO PUNE AFTER MARRIAGE.
              ITS MORE THAN 6 MONTHS PERIOD, SHE IS NOT WORKING AND WILL NOT WORK FOR AT LEAST COUPLE OF YEARS MORE.

              SHE ASKED FOR PF WITHDRAWAL BUT THE HR MANAGER ASKED TO GIVE A AFFIDAVIT FOR THE SAME.
              I HAVE SWITCHED COUPLE OF TIMES AND WITHDRAWN PF WITHOUT ANY AFFIDAVIT.

              COULD YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF IT’S REALLY COMPULSORY AS PER THE LAW?

              IN CASE YOU REQUIRE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FROM MY SIDE DO LET ME KNOW.

                I have taken Europe tour package for July 25th 2009 with SOTC Chennai and paid Rs 80000 as a deposit on 13th January 2009.One Mr.Rajiv the Assistant sales manager has book the tour and while book the tour he has told that the deposit money has refunded in case of cancellation and only 1000 rs per passenger will be deducted from our deposit. When we booked the tour they told that the tour date they have told 25th is confirm date and there will be no change in that..I have gone to his office for my Dad's visa process that time they told that they have changed the date to 24th July 2009 but never informed us either mail or phone. I myself came to know that and asked then they said the mumbai office has changed it..So I immediately asked the written confirmation for the tour for the July 24th but they have never give as such and finally we have requested them to cancel the tour in first week of may but yet there is no proper reply from them .I have sent so many mails and my brother has gone to his office personally for the refund then they told that they will process and give the payment in a week time. when we asked afetr a week they said that the tour is confirmed and they will not refund the money that too they have not given in writing. These people are big liers and never keep their words and communicate us properly.

                We have given the documents for Dad's visa and informed that my dad is leaving to USA by 27th April and One Miss.Santhiya has promised that they will get us the visa in time but on 25th April they told that they didn't get the visa yet and will be getting by 26th April.. My brother personally has gone to SOTC office and sat there from morning to afternoon and finally they told that the visa has not come so we have changed my Dad's ticket and paid extra Rs8000 because of their in proper service.

                Finally they are not ready to refund our Deposit money of 80, 000 and keep dragging us saying that they need to get approval from Mumbai office and I have called them and sent a mail as well to the mumbai office and they need one week time .They Sotc Chennai office is terrible. lack of commitment, lots of lies, cheating and keep changing statements .

                They have spoiled our international summer holidays 2010, plans at the last minute. We were due to fly to Australia on 15th May'10 with SOTC, Mumbai. We booked for the Australian Splendour-13 days tour with the Kandivali(W) branch of SOTC with their Sales-in-charge Ms. Swati, in the first week of March'10. Booking amount of Rs.63000 & copies of our passport were collectes from us. Then their was no whereabout from the branch. We were trying to talk to Ms.Swati in vain as she never took our calls. Then in the last week of March when there was no response from their end we threatened to cancel our tour, then Ms. Swati took pains to contact us & promised to collect our documents for the visa purpose. On 3rd April'10, someone was sent to us from their office to collect our original passports & the rest of the docs. After this again Ms.Swati went into a missing mode. In the meantime we were vehemently trying to contact her & the kandivali branch again in vain & the people working there trying to pacify us by saying that they know their work well & we were getting hyper. Normally SOTC collects the payment towards the tour before 1mth from the date of travelling, but this time it was already less than 20days left for the tour & yet there was no visas confirmation or payment information from their end. On the 27th April, we get a call from Ms. Swati, saying that our visas could'nt be our daughter's passport was expiring in August'10, which is less than 6mths norm from the date of travel as per the international travel norms. Then we tried to postpone our tour to 29th May'10 by trying to get the renewed passport thru "Tatkal" services from the passport office. As I was the guardian for my minor child, my passport was to be submitted along with hers. When I was trying to submit the passoprt docs on 6th May'10, with the passport office, my passport was rejected as it was damaged. I got a rude shock as this has happened at the time when our original passports were kept in the kandivali branch of SOTC. This proves that the SOTC staff is inefficient in handling important douments like passports with care. Nobody in SOTC is responding to our calls & complains So i do agree that SOTC has taken people for granted.

                  this complaint is about sotc and the intresting part is that we have still not started off with the tour and still we are feelin that we are cheated.
                  we had booked oriental magic singapore and malaysia tour 8days with sotc. while booking the tickets we clearly mentioned sotc that while travelling we dont want a stop over or that while travellin we didnt want to wait anywhere in between but they told us that there will be a stopover in colombo(srilanka) and would reachsingapore at 2 pm.we asked them for any other alternative and they told ud that we can book air india tickets because it was a direct flight and we would reach at 8 in the morning but it would cost us 4000 per person extra.we told them that we were ok with it and we had no problems in paying 16000 extra(4 people*4000).now after what they told us, our first query to them was wheter we would get a direct transfer to the hotel as we were to reach 6 hours before the other passengers and without any hesitation mr. venkatesh(sotc executive, vashi) told us YES, you will get a transfer and that sotc guide will pick up us from the airport and transfer us to the hotel.. so we went on with the bookin and paid them the entire amount for the tour.. now just 8 days before the tour, we get a call from sotc customer care informing us that we can any time call sotc customer caree if in case we have any queries regarding the tour. i just crossed check with customer care and asked them wheter we would get a direct transfer to the hotel as we were to reach 6 hours before other passengers.. and cc executive clearly said us NO and told us to talk to the place where we booked our tickets(vashi).when i called to sotc vashi, mr venkatesh clearly said us that they couldnt do so and and we would not get transfer to the hotel until the other passengers arrived.after a lot of arguing, they told us that we would get a transfer but not a room in the hotel and we would have to wait till 2.when i myself went at the sotc vashi to discuss the issue, the people there were so rude and it seemed that they hardly cared.when i asked them to give the no. of senior executive they didnt give us and instead kept on arguing (obviously they had recd all the payments)mr venkatesh also agreed that he told us we will get a transfer to the hotel but now listen to his explanation.he was such a liar..
                  aapne pucha transfer milega toh maine bola ha milega.maine yeh nahi bola ki aapko room milega . i think that any normal person of stable mind, if you tell him that you will get a transfer to hotel, he will think that after such a long flight, i'll get a room in the hotel.. but i guess mr. venkatesh wasnt normal... our family isnt in a mood to go but we have no choice and from now only we are feelin cheated.. they spoilt the whole good mood we were in.. i would not suggest any of my relatives or friends to go to sotc.. i mean we had no problem with the extra amount we paid but the thing is that we got to know about all this only when we recd a call from customer care otherwise the cheaters (SOTC OBVIOUSLY) would have never told us.. i mean if they knew they couldnt give us a room then why did they lie to us... i sweare they are such a cheaters and would not suggest any one to go through sotc its a third class tour operators with sick people employed at thier offices

                    Me with my family Enjoyed Rangilo Singapore Malaysia package (Tour Code FAR[protected]A).



                    It was a excellent experience there at Singapore & Malaysia. We have enjoyed a lot there.



                    But sorry to inform you the experience to get the passport ( after visa), ticket, tour voucher & insurance.



                    Almost a month prior from the date of departure we had submitted all required document to Ms. Prachi from Ahmedabad office.



                    I was suppose to apply for schengen visa, so it was requested to her to returned the same by 27th of April, and she had confirm the same as well.



                    From 25th April we had stated followed up with her regarding passport and tour detail, since we did not received any response from her or received multiple confusing reply from others from your office we tried to reach Mr. Shailesh.



                    On Monday 27th after being approached to Mr. Sailesh we received the reply for tour details from Ms. Prachi.



                    Meanwhile, I postponed my trip to schengen trip and informed Ms. Prachi also. She even confirmed me that she will retuned the all related documents after getting visa by Monday 4th May. Since then till tour stated we had harassed a lot to close. I am giving some of the example I am furnished herewith for your ready reference.



                    1 It was committed by Prachi to returned the passport and others document on 4th of April. On 4th morning is was told to my person whom I sent to collect passport that it ha not come yet and will return on 5thMay .

                    2 Again I had to sent a person for the same on 5th May and come to know that the said documents will come on 6th May.

                    3 Meanwhile we tried to reach Mr. Shailesh several time but most of time he either did not received call or replied that he was busy in meeting.

                    4 6th May again I sent a person to collect my papers in the afternoon and confirmed by Prachi that the cargo has got late from Mumbai resulting she can not returned.

                    5 When I called up Mr. Shailesh, he confirmed that some of his collogue has flown from Mumbai with all this document and will be deliver by evening.

                    6 Evening when I called up Prachi, came to know that again cargo has got late and she confirmed that even in late night she will manage to deliver the same.

                    7 At last I received the same on 6th May night almost 0000hrs. Obviously at my residence. HATS OFF Ms. PRACHI.

                    8 The escort no was given by your office is only for Singapore & Malaysia, there was no assistance at either at Ahmedabad or Mumbai.

                    9 Even I was told by Prachi that it will a thorough check in and immigration will be done from Ahmedabad Airport itself, but surprisingly I found it is not so from carriers representative at airport. While I called her she lied that the through check is not possible which was informed to her by Airlines on 8th may, I personally enquired the same and found from airlines that it’s not that they are having system problem, the same is not allowed even.



                    In a word your Ahmedabad office operation is completely mess. Experiencing such poor customer orientation I was quite panicked about your international operation, but found it was amazing.



                    Then how the part of such team could irresponsible? No courtesy call, many a times I found my persons are waiting as they are having meeting, are you still working on sachivalaya culture?



                    I tried to find out why are they doing so, from Mr. Sailesh, but he simply avoids customer and send them to his junior collogue to handle. I am not keen detailing anymore from you even, only concerned is to update the experience from your Ahmedabad office.

                      This letter is to bring to your notice the inconvenience brought to us during our trip to Singapore & Malaysia organized by esteemed company M/S SOTC.

                      We would like to mention the following points, which have caused us the inconvenience and made this trip a huge disappointment.

                      1) We had made it very clear to M/S SOTC that our two daughters; an eight year old and the other an infant will accompany us and so we do not wish to have a stopover journey. We were therefore promised a direct journey with Singapore airlines for which we made additional payment. We made the booking two months in advance so that M/s SOTC will feel comfortable to fulfill all our needs and every thing will be as per decided and immediately paid the advance against the booking as well. There was no follow up for the final payment from M/s Sotc Office. We had to call them for often for the status and payment.
                      2) We received our documents ((tickets /insurance/itenary) then a week before our trip. It was then that we noticed that we were booked on Srilankan Airlines and it was a break journey. We were informed that there is break of two hours between the flight . Unfortunately, for us, since we received the documents too late we did not check the details carefully and relied on your representative’s assurance.
                      3) At Indian airport, we were shocked to hear that there was a stopover of 24 hours at Colombo. Fortunately, Mr. Vaz of M/s SOTC helped us there; he was very helpful on his personal level. It was on his and our request that the Srilankan Airlines officer arranged our baggage at Colombo airport going against rules (since we were supposed to get the baggage directly at Malaysia airport.). We had reached Colombo at around 3 am. When we went to transit for hotel stay, we were informed that our agent M/s SOTC had not informed them about our stay so they were not in the position to do the arrangement, it was at our request and of the officer at Colombo Srilankan Airlines that the stay was arranged for us in transit. Our issue here is that the agent for M/s SOTC should have intimated them in advance regarding the situation or else at least given us a heads up of what we were supposed to expect at the Colombo airport.
                      4) Due to tension in the said country no taxi was available and we would have had to wait for a long time for transport and since our child was not well we arranged for a vehicle on our own, for which we paid $100 (US DOLAR) for a distance of hardly 10 - 20 min. (as we did not have local currency. We also had to make some ISD calls/sms from Srilanka regarding this issue for which we had pay hefty cell phone bills, which we want M/s SOTC to compensate as promised to us when we called them.
                      5) The sight of Commandos at a distance of every 100 mt scared my family as we were not aware of any tension, political or otherwise going on in that country.
                      6) We appreciate the fact that the hotel was good and they arranged a bus back to airport for us and some other members.
                      7) When we reached Malaysia, we realized that we need to take a train to go to the immigration counter. There was no one to guide us; an M/s Cox and Kings’ tour guide helped us by giving us the guidelines. Such experience is very distressing for people who cannot communicate in English.
                      8) We have already mentioned our tour experience in your feedback form.
                      9) The air conditioner in the bus was not working properly throughout the journey from Malaysia to Singapore. I did not know that your idea of ‘feel at home in Singapore’ involved making us travel in a wreck.
                      10) We are very disappointed with your company and your false claims. We shall never recommend SOTC to any of our friends or relatives. Unfortunately, for us, we got to see the Article about your firm (Times of India dated 30th Apr2009) after our trip or we would have had second thoughts about our trip and saved us the trouble.
                      11) About the Twin Towers, we were told by the local guide that it’s a commercial bldg there is lot of security and tourist are not allowed in, and the interesting thing is we went to the twin towers the previous night and there was no tight security there.
                      12) Again, while coming back home there was a stopover journey and the time gap between the two flights was 6 hours. It was very stressful and difficult to spend the time at the airport, especially with our infant child.
                      13) The only thing we would like to appreciate here is the fact that the hotels were nice and the local guides were nice and helpful.

                      This trip was supposed to me a relaxing and fun outing for my family and me. However, it turned out to be more stressful and taxing experience of our life. Unfortunately, we were able to neither enjoy the trip nor take any good memories back from our trip. SAY NO TO SOTC

                        Dear sir,

                        We had booked a tour with SOTC travels for England -Scotland tour (travel date:15/5/09-24/5/09). Ms Dynsia a SOTC staff insisted payment of booking amount of Rs63, 000, on 27 th February, 2009(that very day when enquiry was made) as some scheme was on whereby they were offering discount and that was the last day. She instantly sent her office peon on Febuary 27th to my residence with booking forms insisting that it was a deadline and hence I should make an immediate advance payment of Rs.62, 000/- that very day to avail 10000 discount on the overall tour cost. The cheque was handed over to the office peon. I wasn't briefed on the flights details at the time of booking. FOR THE AMOUNT PAID, I HAVE NOT YET BEEN GIVEN A RECEIPT.

                        Once SOTC cleared the cheque, I had to chase your Customer Service Executives all through as there wasn't any one point contact. Finally Ms. Dynisia referred me to speak to Ms.Archana Patil to know the flight details. I got a rude shock when I was informed that our tour was via Doha and then to London which is indeed a long and exhausting flight. I asked Executives on March 16th to provide me a direct routing to which Ms.Archana Patil got back to me on March 26th i.e. after 10 DAYS with the option on flying Emirates which was again via Dubai and included an additional steep fare difference payable. On 27th March I immediately informed your Executive Ms.Archana and Ms.Dynisia that we were no longer interested in this tour and asked for the refund of the booking amount. We were shocked to receive a reply from Ms.Archana on April 3rd that the booking amount was non refundable.

                        There has been SUPPRESSION OF INFORMATION on the tour flight details and NO RECEIPT was given for the booking amount paid. They don't respond to my calls nor there is any customer grievance cell mentioned at SOTC site. I am being cheated and to resolve the issue I request your intervention on the refund of the booking amount at the earliest.

                          I am a reputed doctor in north india. My family had been to europe with SOTC All the persons in the tour -starting 18th June were horrified at the services. Day wasting at airports, wrong and changed venues and airports was very common not to mention bad breakfasts.
                          I wish all persons read this review .
                          To add to the woes they stayed on the eve of departures around 100 kms from zurich . We had to wake up at 2am to catch 7 am flight
                          an Indian guide who had to read from books to guide us is the least.

                          I am a structural engineer working in dubai.

                          I totally agree with Dr Naveen. My wife and I were travelling in the same SOTC tour as Dr Naveen and were surprised to see the messy arrangement throughout the tour.

                          The worst as Dr Naveen mentioned was the day before departure. itenary mentioned stay in Zurich city but we were taken to a hotel 100km from Zurich. We reached at 9 pm and the airport drop was scheduled at 3am next day morning.

                          In addition to what he has mentioned we had more miseries. This tour is mostly organised by SOTC India which we joined from Dubai. While doing the booking in Dubai we were charged for 8 days of tour and were told we would have to be on our own only for 1/2 a day. But the day before travel we were told we have to be on our own for first 2 days of the tour. So charged for 8 days but tour given for 6 days only. After return when we raised the concern to SOTC they showed a deaf ear to the whole thing.

                          BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN BOOKING A TRIP WITH SOTC. Although their tag line says "Expect More", you can't even expect what you paid for.
                          I have also had bad experience thru SOTC tour of europe and far east. Lousy food, lousy service. Pls pass the message to all your friends never to use sotc.

                          I have a similar experience though i have not traveled with SOTC. I booked for a tour and paid Rs 33, 000 as advance. I was told that you may inform if you don't want to take the tour and the money would be refunded.
                          For some resons i decided not to go ahead and asked for my refund. They started harrassing me and asking for all sorts of documents. After constant follow up they returned me only 22, 500 and kept the remaining sum saying it is as per their rule.

                          Hi Guys it is vacation time again, and many of my friends asking for advise on which destination to choose and which are the good tour operators. I completely agree with these comments and would like to mention that our Europe tour in summer of 2006 was a total disappointment with SOTC. I would like to mention that their service and follow up is Outrightly bad and their tour guides are RUDE.
                          Self and wife had taken SOTC tour to Turkey and Ezypt one and halfyears ago. Our experience was very good, well attended, well organised and all guides were knowledgable and always willing to help.
                          DONT EVER PLAN YOUR TRIP WITH THEM I AM SURE THEY ARE THE BIGGEST CHEATERS OF ALL AND I AM GOING TO FOLLOW-UP AND COMPLAINT THEM TO THE HIGHER BODY

I myself Sanjay Agarwal & a friend of mine took the tour of Europe in June 2009.Right from the start this tour was a mess.Delhi office works like a dictator if you don't agree get lost is the attitude.In my tour we were two familes of Drs from Meerut U.P. & we were harresed by all the way they could.Visas of our two members were not proper as their photos were interchanged & whole of the SOTC office & local agent advised us or rather we sould say forced us to tavel with those documents.At 2 AM in morning at Delhi Airport, airline staff told us that they will not allow us to go, lastly one family was left behind .SOTC promised us to provide 3 rooms but we were given 2 rooms only at all places. All stays were far away from the city & daily travelling time was 4 to 8 hrs.SOTC never delivered any thing which they promised before starting the tour.We were asked to travel to their CP office Delhi to do some formalities which all could have been completed at local agent level & the most surprising part was that we are not sure why SOTC local agent was paid for.The only thing I found good was that our tour manager was very good Mr Amit Kukarni but was helpless.Lastly our members who were left behind joind us 4 ays later in Switzerland.So if you are travelling through SOTC be doubly sure to have the right info

                          Thank you all for your feedback. I was planning for a tour and was thinking to go with SOTC but I think now I have changed my mind.
                          Hey guys it is true that SOTC is a real cheater. My parents booked a Europe tour for 4th Sept, but on 28th my mom fell seriously ill and temporarily paralysed her legs. We requested them for deferring the tour to a later date on the next month where there was another tour planned. They too agreed to defer our tour and told that only the actuals will be charged. But then 2 days later they outrightly said this will be viewed as cancellation and charged us 40, 000/- per person.

                          My parents will be travelling for sure, but not with SOTC. A very bad brand indeed.

But to our utter surprise they did not take us any places except Budha recycling temple and Safari World that to also they charged 900 bhats per person from each passenger for Safary tour. Being a handicapped person I could not even trave sea beach which they did not mention earlier. During my package tour I visited only Budha temple.

While paying the cheque I had asked her "What will happen if I can not go for the tour for some reason ?". She told me "Don't worry Sir we will refund your money". And it is clearly wirtten in the brochure of SOTC also that they will refund the money in case a customer can not go for the tour. For some reason we could not go for the tour. I have been repeatedly requesting Mr. Some, the incharge of SOTC, Salt lake Branch, Kolkata to refund my money. I made an application also in this regard as per his advice. But I have not yet received my money. Mr. Some is not attending any phone call also. I also agrre with all of you, SOTC is a great cheater. I'll be greatful if some one can suggest me some solution.

                          'Thankxx to all of you who have posted your comments on this blog. Was planning to take SOTC as the costs seemed way less compared to Trafalgar /Cosmos/Globus. However after having read all your comments i sure have changed my mind.I think i will spend a bit more but look at other Tours.
                          same is the case with us guys .we planned our trip to thailand where it was a 5day tour.but when we arrived there we got to know that we'll be sent back on the morning of fifth day itself by a morning flight..nonetheless, they booked really high class hotels for us but i think if they would have rather concentrated on the sight seeing then it would have been satisfactory.moreover we were taken to pattaya city first which was not decided earlier.and due to this change in plan we couldnt see a single tourist spot in bangkok except the temple of the reclining buddha.
                          moreover since im a physically handicapped person i could not enjoy the speed boat journey wasting my time in the hotel room itself as they had no provisions for taking any kind of care of my special case.we were told that all the sight seeing and the shows' money was included in the package itself but arriving there we had to pay for each and every show ad safari ride we were taken to...this was really unfair on there part, i would say.and the quality of dinner was just extremely cheap and third class but nevertheless, the breakfast given was good comparatively..
                          i would just say that beware next time if you are planning your vacations with sotc as it will waste your hard earn money and precious time

                          Thanks to the valuable comments by experienced. I was planning a trip to Switzerland in Jan 2010 on my wedding anniversary but it seems, safer option will be to arrange everything of my own.

                          Can somebody suggest me if local sight-seeing trips are available once I reach Zurich.

                          I did plan Europe with SOTC this year but I am glad it didn't materialise. Now after seeing these comments I have decided not to approach them. I had been to their office in Dubai once & was not impressed at all. There was general lack of professionalism. The behaviour of the staff was like you are need not us.

                          I had a totally different experience than you all had. I had been with SOTC to their Fareast tour. The tour Managers were excellent guides. Since it was a group tour it was hectic, but this was informed to us before departure.
                          I agreed with you Annie, I was surprised to see this complain… my family has travelled with S.O.T.C six times and I haven’t come across any such incident… we all enjoyed the tour. The most memorable tour was the USA and EUROPE. Most of the places S.O.T.C customers have been given preference. I have seen other tour companies customers are waiting for their turn after S.O.T.C customers. i think some one is creating this complaint to spoil a reputed company

                          City Safari — Awful service

                          Readers from Bangalore - Please avoid taking City safari taxi services.
                          They have deteriorated thier service quality to abysmall levels. I have had several bad experiences but I put them off thinking they are driver specific. The bad service and rude behaviour by the driver of the cab is in fact the culture that they follow.

                          Just dial unfortunately is not aware of the idiotic service city safari provideds and therefore perhaps would recommend you to contact them first. To avoid being upset at the rash driving/ill-manners of the uneducated scum o[censored]sually drivers these cabs, avaoid city safari by all means.

                          I booked my Europe trip with SOTC.
                          I got my tickets, visas and everything and just 10 days before the trip SOTC cancelled it's trip and they won't even refund me.
                          So my $1500 went down the drain. If you are reading this, never ever book your trip with SOTC unless you like to waste your money.
                          My family of four had book ALL of switzerland 7 days tour with sotc Dubai. After taking deposit from us 2 days later they informed us they dont have seats available for us. We were already booked on flights which could not be changed. Everytime they would say we are trying. Till three days before the tour they were saying no seats available. Finally we asked them to refund our deposit to which they did not agree saying they were trying for us. After giving us booking numbers confirmation how can they say no seats available. Finally we had to bring in police to solve our problem and get our money back.
                          Trust me you can go on your own to Europe. Regarding Indian meals it is easily available at many tourist spots in Switzerland.
                          If there is a mistake by SOTC one time doesnot mean they are not good at all. We travelled to Russia and scandinavia with SOTC and I think they did a wonderful job. I was very very satisfied with the tour arrangement They gave us the best hotels and best breakfast and the tour guide was really nice. I enjoyed my experience with SOTC.

                          Our(Self and wife) American Experience Tour (9th June to 18th June' 08) was a disaster.Having good experience of European tour with S.O.T.C, myself and my wife selected you this time also for the American Tour but totally dissapointed.The tour operator was having a limited capacity to manage the batch of 39 persons and moreover there was no support from S.O.T.C Mumbai office.The tour operator has made a total mess of it.
                          At Grand Canyon the thrilling Helicopter tour was not arranged even though we were ready to pay extra.
                          Our early morning flight from Chicago to Buffalo, Niagara was cancelled and we had to spent whole day at the air-port without any break fast or lunch from S.O.T.C side.The tour operator should have sent us to a hotel and arranged for an alternate flight or should have arranged for a bus to go to Niagra.Ther was no contingency plan as a result the Niagara trip was cancelled and next day evening we reached Washington thus wasting two complete valuable days without any tour.We had not come all the way by paying air fare just to sit at air port or hotel.Due to this our Washington tour was also reduced by one day and entire tour became very hectic.
                          It is obvious that we would not come frequently to USA by spending so much money.This type of tour is normally once in a life time.So to overcome the situation myself and my wife decided to visit Niagara ourselves.Now we request you to reimburse the cost incurred by us as a compensation towards Niagara tour( which was part of your tour itinerary) as per the following details.

                          1.Reschedule charges of British Air one way ticket
                          from 18th June to 20th June' 08.(NY-AUH) USD 300/.

                          2.One way air fare from Niagara to New York
                          for 2 persons. USD 304/

                          3.Two night (19 and 20 June' 08) Hotel charge
                          at Niagara for 2 person. USD 308/

                          4.To and fro taxi fare from Buffalo air port. USD 125/

                          5.Tickets for Boat/Bus ride at Niagara falls. USD 60/

                          6.Food and other Misc expenses for two persons. USD 150/

                          Total; USD 1247/


                          All the original receipts are available with us and can be produced on demand.
                          Hope you will consider the above and confirm your acceptance by return as expected from a professional tour operator.

                          Agree - we have travelled with SOTC tour twice to europe and states and were thinking of doing a tour to india too very soon in november - yes, they try and cut edges - in one place in italy they put us up in a hotel where there were repairs going on!! and god forbid we were fine - also the hotels are far away - obviously cheap hotels!!! with no good service - they are doing themselves down - also we were promised a gift for our silver wedding anniversary - not that we care for such things - but not a peep from them - fortunately the guides were good - one parsi lad was very good and kept us entertained with his jokes and humour and very proactive.

                          Can anyone suggest a good tour company to travel to rajasthan, agra, shimla, kulu manali etc

                          I had planned my Swiss-Paris Honeymoon with SOTC and even paid them money.
                          They initially told me they will confirm the bookings in 48hrs.
                          They did not do hotel bookings even after I contacted them repeatedly and after 1 month they told me I have to pay 30% more as the prices have increased. When I wanted to cancel it with them they told me they cannot refund my money as that will go into cancelling the hotel reservation.

                          They will initially lure you with cheap offer and once you pay money they will never stick to their commitment and do things their own way. Only a suggestion, DO NOT GO TO SOTC.

                          I am planning a trip to Europe in May 2010. Any suggestions for a good operator?
                          I had a trip in 2006 summer starting from London England and ending in Paris France 11 days. I had no problem during the trip and Guide was great. We have lot of good memories of the trip.
                          I think it depends on specific guide how he arranges the tour. Everything went as promised. In fact we tried to stay in London 2 night extra and 1 night after end in Paris and found things you can do in tour are lot more than if you try to do on your own.
                          I dont agree at all. Our experience with SOTC when we travelled Europe with them in 2006 was extremely good. Hotel stay was comfortable, indian food served was excellent. Tour manager was well informed, helping and guided the tour effeciently. We are planning vaction with SOTC this year too= Vijay Bichu

                          I am executive in a OIl PSU, recently (Feb11)had a Mal-SIN-Cruise-SIN package along with my wife.
                          As promised by SOTC-Kolkata, the Hotel was not provided at Mal.
                          At Bangkok, wastage of full night to get another flight for Mal; though there was/is direct flight for Mal. from Kolk. Poorly designed tour not consdering customer's
                          interest.
                          Even in the 'sight seeing points at Mal lot of places of interest(e.r Bird Park etc not included) wherase boring places like 'watch factory(thogh it was a showroom only) was included.

                          Don't just nod your heads to what people say ... Particular cases can not be taken as the references for the next tours. I know it sounds weired but I loved the kind of arrangements they made for us while we were on the SOTC ALL O[censored]SA TOUR LAST YEAR May 2010. I just was searching the sotc word and got on this web page. Sincerely SOTC is not bad its the kind of mindset of the travellers that matters a lot while on the tour. Simply for some silly and small things also we customers get upset, I know there is a lot of hard earned money which is involved in the tour. But be cooperative and patient and things definitely work in your way. Some times I know the sales office overcommits about the facilities and arrangements of the tour but it is the competition and our attitude that makes them commit to what otherwise is not feasible in the given money. Think about the best of the places and hotels on the main strip you guys have stayed in and the kind of arrangements were made to make you people happy on the tour by the well behaved staff and the Tour Managers of the SOTC. I know it sounds weired to hear good about the SOTC here, since everybody is complaining about SOTC, but believe me I have event travelled with many such operators abroad like KESARI, THOMAS COOK etc. Certain incidences are unavoidable and hence should be left out. I think every one here is making one point clear that they are on the tour for shear Joy and Value for your money...then let's not make that fun go away from the tour and then cry for the things what we have not got instead of what we have got ! Be positive and do not panic and really expect the best from SOTC since it is the really the best tour operator for EUROPE and USA and rest of the places not because I say but the peoples mandate and the Award list says it. Please find some more information about the company and you will realize you have travelled and will be travelling with the World class company which is above 100 years old and really doing great.                           SOTC TRAVEL AGENCY HAS BOOKED WRONG DATES NON REFUNDABLE AND NON EXCHANGEBLE EURO STAR TRAIN TICKETS FOR MY FAMILY MEMBERS. THEY ARE UNWILLING NOW TO EXCCHANGE OR REFUND THESE TICKETS EVEN AFTER SPEAKING TO THEIR SENIOR STAFF. I FIND THIS VERY STRANGE WHICH HAS FORCED ME TO MAKE A COMPLAINT ON THIS WEBSITE.
                          I agree. Do not go with SOTC. Thomas Cook is same price or slightly higher and peace of mind is much more. I just come back from SOTC tour and was going on with Thomas Cook side by side. The food and hospitality - hotels are alot better with Thomas Cook. Even lunches were cold and tasteless as well as dinners. Total waste of my money. We had to carry packages with us from morning. How could something taste well in afternoon? I made mistake with SOTC and please do not make same. Do not book SOTC.
                          The buses are very bad. torn seats, smelling, and ac not working properly. if anyone going US do not go SOTC
                          I, being a Life Member of AMASI (Reg No 1828) got registered for AMASICON 2011 for myself and my wife Ms Sabiha Perwez by payment to AMASI via DD for an amount of Rs.1, 16, 300/- (One Lac sixteen thousands three hundred only) DD No. 012453 dated 15th December 2010 drawn on Bank of India Dhatkidih, Jamshedpur for attending the AMASICON 2011 conference at Singapore from 21st May 2011 to 25th May 2011. I received the acknowledgement receipt (Receipt No 160) from AMASI Office dated 26th Jan 2011( Registration No -1143).

                          I received mails from Mr Madhab Pramanik, Visa Co coordinator STOC Kolkata in April 2001 to send the required papers and photographs for Visa processing. I promptly sent all the papers with required specifications. This was received by STOC Kolkata by BLUE DART Courier on 2nd May 2011. I contacted Mr Mahadeb Pramanik on Phone on 3rd May and he said the papers have been received and they are in proper order and will be forwarded to STOC Mumbai.

                          Subsequently I requested for a two day extension at Singapore from 25th to 27th May for which I contacted Shraddha Thakur in Mumbai Office and as per the requirement I paid the money through Cheque and Bank Transfer approximately Rs 35000/-
                          From 3rd may to 20th May the day of departure I did not receive a single call/SMS/mail regarding any problem in my papers. On 17thMay night I received a call from AMASICON SECRETARIAT that the e tickets are not coming because of some unspecified problem and asked me to contact SOTC office at Mumbai on 18th morning. When I tried to contact them they were totally clueless and confused. I did a series of talks with Mr Sony Chetan ([protected]) and he asked me to send by mail my photographs which I promptly did and he acknowledged this on phone and promised that the things will be sorted out.
                          There was no further communication in this regard from anyone in SOTC.Even on the day of Journey that is 20th May there was no information from designated Tour Manager Saliesh Korde nor STOC Office nor Madhab Pramanik ([protected]).
                          I reached airport at 6 pm on 20th May and met Mr Sailesh Korde ([protected]) and to my shock and embarassment he said that my passport is lying in Delhi and visa has not come and I cannot travel.
                          I suffered tremendous physical, financial and mental harassment all through this.
                          I feel there was total lack of co ordination between AMASI, the organisers and this STOC group. Nobody owned the process in STOC and therefore it went unattended by all. There was absolute total failure of communication by mail or telephone. I had strictly followed the specification mentioned while sending the visa papers including photographs and bank statements. Even if there was any minor problem it could have been always rectified through proper attention and communication.
                          There was total lack of interest, owning the problem by one person, laziness and apathy for any communication with the party.
                          I do not think you deal with your customer in this way. You submit the papers for visa and call the customer to airport directly where you will declare whether he can make the journey or not.

                          I suffered extreme physical and mental sufferings apart from the financial loss. From the month of December to 20th May a simple tour could not be handled by STOC. Is this your customer focus?

                          The people whom I did communicate and hold responsible are Mr Madhya Pramanik, Ms Shraddha Thakur, Mr Chetan Soni, Mr Sailesh Korde apart from various people in STOC Mumbai

                          I have booked a tour for Europe for June 2011 in Delhi and these guys are far from professionals.
                          They will behave like cheap sales person, hide facts, do not keep committments and will make you run after them once you have paid.
                          Not just that they will hike the cost/ price of the tour after taking advance from you.

                          I would also like to share my experience with SOTC European Grande tour
                          I have taken SOTC European Grande Tour this june.
                          I would like to bring to notice of people like me who are taking this type of tour for the first time, a few facts & my experience with this SOTC
                          1. When they do the booking they take the money before you get the visa. If you don't get the visa for some reason you loose too much money.
                          aLSO THEY DONOT INFORM YOU ABOUT THE NAMES OF ALL THE HOTELS BOOKED AT DIFFERENT PLACES BEFORE.
                          WE were promised atleast 4 sta hotels but that was also not always the case.
                          2. They donot assisst you at all before & after tour as concerns with your travel to reach the venue or departure to your home. (our hotel in paris was 2 hours away from paris actually, IN JUNGLE, was not even three star !! not even no ac, there was no provision of ventilation through the ducts. MORE-OVER THERE WAS NO LIFT IN THE HOTEL & MANY WERE ON 1ST FLOOR. Had to carry all our luggage up there. We were forced to check out of this hotel as oit was far away from city & further away from airport. We had to pay from our pocket for the travel to other hotel, fare for the other hotel near to airport for the night when we were supposed to stay IN hotel arranged by SOTC IN PARIS.
                          3. The bus driver does not continue to be same. So, don't tip him at the start of the tour. The second one we got did not assisst us in putting our luggage in the bus or while taking it out even. BUT YOU HAVE TO TIP THEM @ 2 EUROS / PERSON / DAY. So, 8 euros/day for a family of 4.
                          4. Every day you have to get up early do breakfast and travel so much everyday. This is informed to us beforehand but imagine what happens after 10 days of this.
                          5. In whole of my life I have not seen as many churches as I have seen them on this tour!!! I know it was written in the itenary but I don't know how many people realize this. IS THERE NOTHING ELSE TO SEE IN EUROPE ??? I'm sure learning how the people presenlty live, what they eat, how they dress etc will be as or rather more interesting.
                          6. Everyday, you will promptly get the indian food morning & evening on day 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, , 9 ... so that you will die to eat anything else than that. Maybe one meal of local food & one of indian food would have been a good idea.
                          Again the story repeats in or other way...

                          I have booked a Europe tour with SOTC Ahmedabad for 22nd July. Having understood that I have some official work in london for a week time from 18th July till 22nd July & then i would join the tour. Now just before a week time they inform us that the tour has been rescheduled on 19th July, which in no case possible for me to attend, else they asking for high visa charges for which they haven't perform anything.

                          Seems SOTC is losing interest in serving people but created interest in making money in unethical ways.
                          Thank you for your feedback, I was about to book trip to Europ from SOTC, but as there is no response from SOTC on any of my emails. I have chnaged my mind and going with THOMAS COOK.
                          I recently awailed SOTC services for Hong kong/Macau trip. It was a trip with family - my husband, my 8 year old daughter and my parents -= 70 and 61. Inspite of telling in advance that i am traveling with parents and kid, we were made to wait at the ferry terminal (with no proper seating arrangement) for 3 hours...there was no one to pick us up from hotel shuttle/Holiday tour (partner with SOTC) at macau...the hotels given were not up to date ... they booked us on smoking rooms. I awailed one of the disney 5 * hotel but they made me reach hotel only at 10 PM and thereby i paid for 5 star just to sleep on the bed...i wasnt able to enjoy yhr facility. The places that were incluided as part of trip were pathetic ...there was a lot of waiting time. I would recommend ppl not to awail SOTC - there call representatives gacve me all FALSE Information till the last day of departure. There Vashi, navi mumbai site office ppl never picked up the calls, the land line was doomed., ...highly unreliable and non co-operative tour services. They charged us moolah but gave in return nothing
                          My parents joined the SOTC USA tour in Sep 2011 and they were pleased with the arrangements.They had a good time visiting the major landmarks, had indian food for dinner and the tour manager Mr.Sanjeev Pethe was very helpful as well. Priya D

                          I'm from Rajkot and we traveled this year with Sotc to South Africa form 27th April'12, to 7th May, it was not a good experience at all. The Local Branch in Rajkot is just doing bookings without any kind of proper information. They do not even have the knowledge of flight duration and the distances between the places in the trip they try to lure us. They were very warm and cordial before the payment and had promsied to give all the information abt my queries within 15 days. But as soon as we started asking they started giving dates and finally told me that they do not give such information including detailed itenary after we made the payment. They became cool and distant. Then we started inquiring abt the visas before a fortnight where the initial answer was that it is in the process. But then came the bomb in the last week that is 4 days prior to flying, we were required to go to Mumbai for signature verification, so we had to fly insatnly to b'bay giving the highest rates of the airfare since we bought at the last moment and above all my schedule with patients was shattered as i had to wind up for 12 day for the trip. Me, my wife and my son who is 14 yrs(minor) has to go to south african embassy for signature verification. When we reached there the embassy people did not allow my son to enter as they said that since he is minor he is not required here for verification. Now my question is didn't Sotc people know that minors are not required for signature verification, why didn't they confirm abt it with sa embassy for it before forwarding it to us.And another important thing is that when they were saying all the time that we will manage things abt ur visa and u'll not have to go personally, what happened to that?
                          Now the other part of the story is in south Africa itself, the person who came to recieve us at Cape Town Airport made us wait for a couple for Two and a half hours and we we travelling for more than 10 hours at a stretch, and the hotel was hardly 25 minutes away from the airport so wastage to time. Then the tour manager ( Kiran Shroff)met us straight at dinner time as she flew there in the evening, so the whole day was wasted. After this the new game started, she asked for the tip on the very first morning and collected the tip amt even for the days she wasn't with us, although it doesn't come to a big amt but it definately shows her greed for the money. She never guided us for the cheaper and better shopping options. the local guide and tour manger were all in for their commissions only as we were booking for a local tour in our free time, ultimatley we got a cheaper option and better one so their attitude had changed for a couple of days!
                          next was time schedule, we wasted time everywhere just for their convinience, and our dinner bookings were also changed without any information to us in the last lap of the tour. So the moral of the story is DO NOT TRAVEL WITH SOTC ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.
                          I agree partly with the complaints. I just completed 15 day Europe tour from 18th April to 2nd May 2012. Vadodara officer Ashmi Desai cheated us by charging more Rs 3000 from each person, of our 18 friends group. I also was charged Rs 1700 X 2 =3400 more for the service tax enhanced in the budget on Air fare, though, I bought my air tickets. on my own. I was promised to refund this Rs 3400/- within fifteen days, but have not received refund even after 45 days. Vaodara office even did not reply to my email (as i am in USA ) for refund. Vadodara office is worst for the service.

                          Even in tour, they did kanjusai, by not serving cold drink alongwith pasta, pizza and burger. Now how one can eat dry food without juice or cola.

                          We went to Thailand, tour booked by SOTC. We had such a bad experience which we cant explain.

                          We booked this tour at extra cost and SOTC destroyed all fun of thsi tour.

                          Problem started from day one last till end of the tour.
                          Be careful and ideally dont go for SOTC. Except for their big name 1. they ask big money. 2. They insist on Forex from Duetsche Bank only-where its costliest, and to be paid in INR. 3.There is no pre-breifing at all. 4.No Travel kit except very ordinary unwheeled travel bag 5.There was never date wise itinerary 6.Even from same destination, you will travel in different airlines, routes and times.7.Their staff doesnt know fully about touring spots.8. Even when we were a couple we got two bed rooms.9.Possibilty that local tour manager is too docile and lacks or doesnt disclose informations 10. Lack of coordination between staff. 11.Local buses are very ordinary. 12.In case of emergency, e.g. loss of baggage, very limited assistance available 13. Lots of waste of time, misstatements.
                          Only hotels were good/satisfactory in most cases.

                          SOTC peoples are thieves. Me and my wife went to Istanbul arranged by SOTC. We found all the things that they promised were false. One of our trip was cancelled and when we cotacted SOTC they told they will refund us the money and asked us to arrange something on our own.

                          Coming back to India, when we asked for the refund, SOTC backtracked on their words. Even complaining to their customer care and senior managers yielded no results. They are thieves, frauds...I suggest to everyone, not even think of touring with SOTC.
                          SOTC is the worst holiday planner. In fact they are the holiday spoilers. I went for a Kashmir tour with SOTC and I found it complete waste of my money. Before booking the tour I had confirmed twice about the accommodation and I was told that accommodation is in 3 star hotels. Their 3 star hotels did not even have generators and were situated far away from the main city. We were given candles at night. The hotels were so popular that even the driver had to search for it. They had given the responsibility of managing the tour to some local travel agent and got to know from them that SOTC told them to book budget hotels.
                          They had told that it is a group tour but reality is that the group consisted of only 5 members. Their plan included free buffet breakfast and dinner. But we were fed like beggars. There was no choice in food and were served the same food everyday. There was not even a single sweet dish. We were treated like beggars who were fed only to be kept alive. We had to ask for each and everything and doing this we hurt our dignity. We were told that each person will be given a bottle of mineral water everyday. After asking for it we were given the water for only 6 days. Last day, we were not even given water. In Srinagar, prepaid phone does not work and we were not even able to contact these people. According to the plan there are 3 Shikara rides but we were given only one shikara ride. When we spoke with the local travelling agent they were not even ready to listen to us and cut the call. Last day, they did not have any plan and were just left free. I had my worst holiday experience with SOTC and I will not recommend this to anyone. Travelling with them is a complete waste of your money and time.
                          SOTC stands for SURE OF TOUR CHEATING.

                          They promise everything before booking and deliver nothing. response during and after the tour is pathetic. hotels are poor/smelly. Food third grade. Air travel arrangements are only to suit their budget totally not in sync with the itinerary. customer comes last after the booking. GUides are total waste. PLEASE AVOID USING THEM FOR ANY OF YOUR TOURS ELSE BE READY TO BE CHEATED.
                          I am a retired electrical engineer from Central Railway. I had been to Europe tour by end of June 2013. All the tour itineraries are not folly covered. At many places they pay a very small amount of cash in lieu of lunch which is not enough for any one to fill stumac whereas I had paid the all the amount demanded by them in INR in India itself well in advance. Also the tour guide does not wear uniform so it was difficult for tourists to serch him out at many places.

                          We took tour to Turkey and Greece. I was totally without food for 36 hours. I took SOTC because they serve Indian food. We live in USA for past 45 years . I am total vegetarian and don't eat garlic and onion. Tour manager got me a coke and says everything is closed . One time I was near the step of tour bus and driver was closing the door thank god I survive. I have sent them the letter after coming home. It will be a year in 5 weeks since my tour I have not heard any thing yet.

                          Recently 31/05/ to 14/06/2014, had Kuoni SOTC tour for Russia, Scandinavia countries.We were 47 people, most o[censored]s are not using unfriendly services of SOTC again.Any thing else you would like to mention I had booked this tour 6.5 months back, including East Europe countries.10 days prior to departure you cancelled east europe ie Berlin, Prague, Budapest, Austria etc.there must be central monitoring system so we can change our date.
                          We are senior citizen, travelled USA Canada, west europe, newzeland, Asian countries, deposited all documents for visa, 2.5 months back, but got our visa &passport at DEL airport3 hours prior to flight departure.it created lots of apprehension.
                          In most of the hotel basic facilities like tea maker &in half no airconditioning.
                          In Oslo, Sudden change of hotel, worst, rooms were stinking, 40 minutes from city, lost precious time, got only 3 hours for oslo Sight seeing.(I personally feel if you are honest, will refund 150 euro per tourist.)
                          I opted for JAIN food, got only one vegetable, not even DAL(lentil)in all restourents.
                          I hope I will get the Justice.
                          I will not recommend this tour for any NRIS. Time they gave at each location for sight seeing was very intolerable for us. We hardly had 4 hrs of
                          sight seeing but with 6-8 hrs of bus travel and 4 hrs of shopping. We were told we would be on our own for 1/2 day but we were given every other day 1/2 day shopping during our 12 days of Spain Portugal trip. They never delivered, what they promised. They are big cheater. Our bus had 57 passenger and we were told 35 to 40 people. It was our 1st time by SOTC tour and it was Horrible Experience.

                          SOTC really sucks. I choose SOTC during my honeymoon trip to Turkey. The travel agent doesnt have any knowledge about turkey tourism and so I ended up paying extra EUROs over there. Also they committed 4* hotels during my stay (for that they took 40EURO extra) but I got not even 1* hotel in Istanbul. There are few places that need adv booking, however, I was not told my SOTC and I missed them apparently. My overall trip experience with SOTC was pathetic. I will not recommend it. It would have been better if I could do travel plan by myself. Also could have saved lot of money.
                          I was not fortunate enough to read this blog before booking the tour. I have booked the tour and after reading this I am nearly sure that I am going to waste my time in europe. God save me.

                          Thinking of SOTC!! close all the SOTC tour windows and go for another tour operator. I am sure you are looking for a vacation and not a prolonged nightmare.
                          SOTC (at least Pune office) is being operated by a bunch of novices. SOTC makes all false promises and commitments to get customer to book the trip and once you book the trip you are screwed. If you are adventurous enough to book through SOTC then get prepared for a shelling out much more money and time than planned.
                          Here is the detail of what SOTC is doing with my booking.
                          I booked a SOTC 19 day magnificent Europe tour which had a 4 day add-on spain package as an offer. The person who confirmed my booking quoted a price - which was cheaper than any other tour operator. This is the modus operandi. Hook the customer so that they stop considering any other tour operator...and once hooked..take them for a ride.
                          Branch staff has very poor communication standards and are very unresponsive and un-responsible. I had to find it myself that my tour dates have changed. No one even bothered to inform me.
                          ALL the 3 parameters - Date, Itinerary, Price - offered to me during booking the trip changed and I was really worried and irritated on SOTC's style of working.
                          1. Trip dates changed from 21/04 to 28/04 without any communication. I had to find it out myself.
                          2. Trip Itinerary changed. The Spain package offered to me was no longer available. I had chosen Sotc over other tour operators because of this offering and price.
                          3. Tour price changed. I was given inconsistent figures in different mails and calls.
                          The best thing was that for early booking I was given a discount of Rs 50K per head. Sp for 23 days trip, for 2 people, I received 1Lkh discount. Later when the add on got cancelled SOTC said that the discount was only for the last 4 days of the trip and hence there is no discount on the remaining 19 tour days. Super awesome to take customers on ride isn't it?
                          I am really worried how the real tour would be. I simple hope they are mediators and taking services from another vendor. I don't trust single word said by SOTC anymore.
                          About SOTC. I travelled with SOTC on three successive years to Europe, South Africa and US. There is hardly anything over which I could point a finger; to the contrary, there were many areas where thy far exceeded my expectations. I feel so disappointed to see so many people getting discouraged about SOTC. They give excellent value for money, better than any company I know of. Please look into some other feedback portal before getting disastrously misguided.
                          I must add a few more points to my previous comment. First, in Travel & Tourism industry, there are a) Booking agents, b) Mediators and c) Tour operators (and, to complete the list, additional service providers). In our case, our Booking agent was Al Tayer group in UAE and they are the hallmark in professionalism in every area of their diverse business activities; all my trips were operated by Kuoni group, which is an extremely strong and internationally reputed Tour operator whereas SOTC was the mediator. I don't know whether the mismanagement were because of SOTC's collaboration with some other Tour operator. Second, I (and my family) haven't toured with them for last one year. It is unlikely but possible that their arrangements have developed snags. Third, my trips were all NRI tours; having said that, in all three tours we were merged with the groups coming from India (and from other countries). There was no reason for me to think that service to clients coming from India would be different. There is a fourth point too. Even the best of the Tour operators don't have the same strength in every segment of the world they function. They do get let down by their local partners at times.
                          I hope my comment has been of some help rather than making the matter more confusing.
                          hi i am planning with sotc USA . can any one suggest how is there trip with sotc for USA.
                          We have booked Magical Europe tour with London with SOTC starting 26/04/2016.
                          Till date the experience has been absolutely horrible.
                          I would advise one and all not to book any tour with them.

                          Has anyone taken sotc package to thialand.
                          We had booked this tour Mysterious China with Yangtze River cruise  in the end of the month of May 2016. One day prior to our departure i.e 21st july 2016  we receive a phone call from your office that the visa has been rejected due to clarification regarding accommodation at China which is the responsibility of SOTC . 

                          Any travel agency/tour operator would have the courtesy to provide the traveler with the travel documents atleast one day prior to date of travel. But the previous day to the travel, our passports were still at the Chinese consulate at Mumbai, and the Bangalore office was enquiringly about the status of visa, and told us the previous night that our visas have been rejected . 
                          SOTC is hopeless.
                          We had to repeatedly following up with their office from the time of booking regarding the visa constantly.
                          Despite all this the visa was at the Chinese consulate unstamped on the day of our departure.we had to cancel the trip because they rescheduled the dates which was inconvenient for us. They have not refunded even one rupee of the payment we made. It is one month since we canceled. Neither customer care nor the branch office people gave any support.
                          They have no sense of responsibility towards the customer. I have lost a lot of money to SOTC.
                          Never ever book a trip with SOTC
                          SOTC is a real cheat. They Harass People. People should stay away from them.
                          I had booked Holidays to Australia and New Zealand with SOTC in 2016 .The Visa arrived the Night before the departure. SOTC lied all throughout. It was their fault that they did no send the application in proper time. It was a group tour.In The last part in NewZealand it was Northern Island? ., there was nobody left in the tour, it was only me and my wife. All other people had left before. There was no SOTC manager with us.

                          SOTC chooses cheap hotels far away from City Centre as some people reported and make the clients travel 100 kms in early morning to catch departure Flights.

                          Everyone should be aware of these Cheats.

                          Sotc is definitely not serving its customer the way it says” it’s a chor company” ! We had very bad experiences for continuous three years and in spite of that we had not learnt our lesson and the fourth and the last trip with these fraud people was last year 2017.
                          They hired such expert drivers for a customized tour from Austria to Budapest for us ( that is what they say), the expert driver slept while driving on a highway to Vienna in the morning it was a 4 hr drive and after completing two hr of drive SOTC expert driver slept and the car met with an accident.It got dashed with two more cars and then hit the railing, thankfully the railing was existing or else we wld have toppled and got thrown into the lake.
                          We were traveling with our two daughters 14 and 17 yrs, we all got badly injured with bruises and fractures and my husband was the worst in all o[censored]s, he was unconscious for few seconds and his Back his ribs got fractured, he was not able to walk or sit.It was the most scariest thing I had witnessed.
                          SOTC team instead of helping us out, laid their hands of the entire mishap.. we were asked to pay all the bills in the hospital in spite of insurance been taken.The mental trauma my whole family faced just because their driver slept while driving. My children couldn’t sleep for nights and were in shock for several days.
                          Instead SOTC asked us to rebook our tkts on our own expenses and to fly back.
                          The best part is yet to come My husband was on a complete bed rest for 3 months. We requested to give us back our refund, of the incomplete trip which we did not finish due to the negligence of SOTC.we had not yet asked for the compensation and the insurance amount also from SOTC, it was just our refund amount. Inhumanity of the team and the Audacity of SOTC they had not even apologized once for taking us into this trauma .. but refused to refund our amount also as they said we had already prepaid so we cannot refund it back to you.This is what they promise us before taking us for a trip that “you are in safe hands”
                          I am thankful to GoD we are safe and under the-roof of our house but it still haunts us, especially my children..and our lives are not the same as it use to be.. my husband after a year still has problem with his back.
                          This I have written not to get back any amount from this FRAUD company SOTC but to warn people who put their hard earn money to make their dreams come true as what they say.. please check Re check before you plan a trip with them. Don’t risk your life, It’s precious than anything in this world.
                          Our tour operator were Praveen Reddy and Nadeem who is the head operator.They are in Banjara Hills hyderabad and Secunderabad. The accident was in border of Czech and Austria.
                          Our Issue: This is with reference to our Package booked with SOTC for Singapore-Phuket-Bangkok starting from 6th Feb to 16th Feb 2019.
                          We are specifically mentioning about the incident that happened with us at Phuket airport when we were supposed to travel from Phuket to Bangkok from Thai Lion Mentari-753 on 14th Feb 2019 at 7:53 am. Pls note here- We have received the ticket print on the start of our travel i, e, 6th Feb 2019 at 7 p.m. wherein our flight was at 11 P.m.
                          The Tickets did not had Baggage inclusion and airline demanded us for 37 Kgs 11100 Thai Baht. Pls Note from BOM-Singapore-Phuket, bangkok-Delhi had baggage inclusion.
                          We were there at the airport at 4:a.m. and when we got to know the same we contacted the emergency No's that was mentioned . Ms Priyanka No was switched off, however Mithil was not picking up the call, Ms Wah did picked up but said she had no say in this matter . After a while Mr Mithil from SOTC picked up and assured us to get back with detail. However in a span of 10 Minutes he said us to pay for the baggage and then they will see to it. We responded them that we do not have enough money and it was their loop and mistake . When we have made all payments in advance why we would extra 11100 thai baht here, he said he will get back to us. Please Note Their phone went switched off after this. There was no concrete reply and Help and after trying their phone continuously, we informed them that we will book another flight but we want that to be reimbursed for which they gave us the assurance that they will certainly do their best and will escalate the issue as well. This was infact communicated to us that the team has made a mistake here.
                          Pls Note: we booked bangkok airways flight for 2 people in 4050 thai baht per person.(attached tickets)
                          This is not the first time we faced this with the team, the Hotel that was booked was communicated to us as 4 Star Hotel with Superior room. On the day of arrival at Phuket, when we were shown the room, it was pathetic . There was no proper lighting, No AC working, NO TV Working, Mosquitoes all around. We immediately escalated the issue for which we were shown another room of same category but the issue remained the same. Our whole day got wasted due to that incident. In the event of such situation, we demanded of a room which is better, for that as well we had to pay 3000 Thai Baht for upgrade. Although some of the amount was adjusted in our booking of flight from Bangkok to Delhi. But the kind of mental Trauma, tension has not only spoiled our day but also our mood. Can you Pay us back for the mental tension, awkward situation which we dealt with it at Phuket?
                          Another episode: we started off with Australia tour and we paid the initial amount of 120000. whatever document was demanded we gave it to the team. SOTC Team did check our documents verified it and sent it to VISA Department. Our Visa got rejected due to Migration reason. The whole assurance of having 99 % of ViSA acceptance, got failed, due to a reason which we did not understand. Over the Call, we were told" You guys are very Young, this must be the reason they must have rejected your VISA". We have been reimbursed with 35k only and rest amount was forfeited. We still moved ahead with SOTC on trust only, but our trust was tarnished every time.
                          Now, after all this we feel humiliated, sidelined, embarrassed, fooled, duped, ashamed of the fact that we started off our association with SOTC.
                          It was a sheer humiliation at the airport where there was a wastage of energy, time, Money, efforts, Mental harassment.
                          People leaving their country, going for a good time has Money only as their asset, we have told them that we do not have enough money that we can spend here still they did not hear us in this difficult situation.
                          Me and my husband have gone through a bad travel ordeal with SOTC and we want our hard earned money back in cash with no deduction here. The Team cannot pay back what we have gone through as Mental Torture.
                          SOTC cannot bring back our memories and have made us gone through this mental harassment.
                          We have been so patient with SOTC but till now there has not been a Concrete reply. After this almost 15 days, they were back with same reply of taking credit Note. With due respect, we are sorry that the staff is immature and did a blunder in booking tickets and we paid the price for their Blunder. Being a service industry, what is the need of emergency No's if they cannot help us in such situation. Pathetic Service.
                          There are now fooling us with Credit Note of 10 k.For which we denied of.
                          Please do not get attracted by their 70 years of experience and package iternary.. they treat customers like animals after payment.. no respect and no response to our problems/concerns..

                          We totally ruined our Europe tour just because of bad guide who showed no respect to woman travellers..Though he covered iternary nobody was happy till end. instead of sotc pls go for other new travel operators.. These people have got too much of headweight just because of the name ( it was good 6 years back) .. Now its time for them to close.. please don't opt for it. WORST WORST WORST operators..
                          Sotc is completely fraud travel company as after taking the money they don’t bother about customers money.

                          I booked Australian package through them and their visa handling person Ramesh Roy who sits in Delhi CP branch told me that my docs are in correct order.

                          He took my docs well before my departure date and when I enquired about my visa application he told me that they submit in one day, they keep on giving excuses about that they will submit.

                          But in the end when I again enquired about my application he hurriedly submitted my application even without reviewing from me.

                          So Guys don’t ever travel with Sotc and they are only making Money, also the hotels they provide are of sub-standard and far away from city centre.

                            i take package from sotc for kashmir trip.NAME -VIVek SINGAHAL FILE NO-401/15 TOUR CODE -VARI290508 my package starded from 29 may and end on 3 june. sir according to our itienary on 1 june ar per sotc voucher we stay at cottage with 03 bed room.provided by hotel heevan phalgam.but sir hotel heevan has cheated us. sir by the help of sotc exceutive and local sotc agent(tempo traveller provider and hotel provider in srinagar) hotel heevan has given d class hotel ice land 2/5km away from hotel heevan. SIR THERE IS NO LIGHT NO PHONE IN THE HOTEL.HOTEL IS VERY BELOW CATAGAORY . NO MOBILE (BSNL) IS WORKING ON THAT DAY SERVICE IS SUSPENDEND OF BSNL . I CANT APPROCH ANYBODY AT THAT TIME .HOTEL PHONES AND HOTEL EMPLOY PHONES ARE ALSO SHUT DOWN. TEMPO TRAVELLER DIVER TAKE US IN HOTEL ICELAND FORCEFULLY.                             i booked package tour for singapore malayasia scheduled from mar 1 to mar 14 for a newly married couple by sotc nagpur .i asked the concerned agent to provide best o[censored]rs services especially for accomodation and food for the couple(where money was no concern).inspite of so freedom in money concerns the couple was booked with a very small room having 2 single beds no windows and no arrangements for ventillation at cruise ...the concerned agent din't even bothered to tell us about the rooms available wit balcony in the cruise at the time of booking. i was very much disappointed on such a treatement and such a inconvience from ur side to the newly married couple by ur such a reputed travel agency. it is the matter of betrayal wherin no prior information was given by the concerned agent regarding the same.
                            bring our complaint in the notice of highest sotc authority about the mistrust shown from ur side.

                              Dear All,
                              Please beware of SOTC travel planner, Iam one of the scapegoat who was trapped with their wrong promises. I planned for a Euro trip 40days before the date of travel but finally 2 days before the travel they said that they cant make the trip. I have been talking to the customer care people who tried to convice me giving false commitment. Finally they have spoiled my vacation.
                              SO PLEASE EVERYONE BEWARE OF SOTC TRAVEL...
