[Resolved]  Standard Chartered Bank — Standard Chartered Bank Hiring Terror Agents To Patch Losses

These headlines would normally remind you the terrorist who came to Mumbai on 26/11 and killed many innocent people. Apart from damage to life and property they were able to terrorise the entire world as they watched the events unfolding live of television.

However this time I am not referring to those terrorists or terrorist organisations like Al Quida, LeT, Taliban etc. The common man in India is currently being terrorised by a breed of local ‘Terror Agents’ popularly called as ‘Recovery Agents’ who are funded by giant corporations like Standard Chartered Bank among other banks

Debt recovery agents’ (DRAs), as the banks call, others call them goons, I call them Terror Agents and Standard Chartered Bank is nothing less than a terrorist organisation which is committing serious crime.

My father a 60 year old senior citizen suddenly got a letter in 2007 from Standard Charted Bank stating that hey has some money due on this credit card from 1997. Funnily enough this was a card which he had paid off discontinued 10 years back and for the past 10 years not received any report or statement about. Assuming it was a mistake he had his lawyer reply to them that there are no dues pending and if they are asked the bank to provide any evidence. Since then he did not here anything from the bank. Untill a few weeks back when he suddenly started getting calls from some ‘GOONS’ asking for some 20, 000 due on a credit card in 1997. He tried to explain the situation to them but all they were trying to do was give absuses on the phone. They also threatned him. This kept happning for over a week and then he brought this to my notice.

Having spoken to a lawyer friend we sent letters to Standard Chartered Bank, RBI and even launched a formal police complain. However even post that nothing has stopped and these terror agents continue to call and haunt him... being a heart paitent and a diabetic my family was very concerned and my brother even offered to may the ‘RANSOM’ payment if that would mean the end of these terror calls. However having spoken to a lawer we were adviced that this is exactly what the terror agents want and we should certainly not do this.

Unfortunately even after formal complains the Police is yet to take any action and the RBI is also sleeping... the Terror Agents told us openly that they are in GOOD TERMS with the police and we will continue to get the calls!

So the situation is simple they are calling a 60 year old senior citizen for an 10 year old outstanding which dosent exist or they have any record off and more importantly the Terror Agent is resorting to extortion as that’s the only way he will get his salary paid. Such Harassment by DRAs has reportedly led to a death and a suicide in Hyderabad. One reads a number of cases about how these Agents abuse people on the phone and also heard of they resorting to violence.

Also I found out a very interesting point from a friend who is working at a senior level at a BPO. What he told me was interesting, it seems due to the economic downturn and with what happened in the US most banks have almost shut their personal loans division and also giving credit in any form is now very restricted and now thousands of BPO employees who were selling credit cards and personal loans have been moved to a new task of RECOVERY. BPO firms are offered percentage cuts of the amount they are able to recover and with no other real source of income most of these BPO’s have boostered their recovery process. Next time dont be surprised to see your local GOONS in a job interview at a top BPO near you.

So I have decided to declare an all out Citizen War against their terror agents and the new breed of terrorist organisation like Standard Chartered Bank...and hope that I can count on my friends in the real and virtual world to help taken on these cowards and am also giving a final warning to the banks that if they don’t stop such activities... they will be in for a big trouble as the citizens of this country cannot take such ...

Also please don’t get me wrong The banks do have the right to recover their rightful dues, but there is a right way to so. Laws have to be followed, which is are not necessarily followed by their terror agents. I also extend my full sympathy and support to all victims of these terrorist and would be happy to help in any ways I can

Anyway for the benefit of all here are some interesting points to be followed.

Some Tips on How to Deal with Bank Terrorists

1. When he establishes contact, take down the full name of the terror agent, his contact details and the particulars of the amount he is calling about. Find out if heis from the bank or a third party agency Make notes of the conversations, including details like date, time and place. If possible record the call.

2. Make him aware that you know he’s just doing his job, but do not tolerate threats. If he does get abusive, inform him calmly that you will report the matter to the police/bank/RBI If things get out of hand, ask the agent to stop calling - you are under no obligation to take his calls. Further, write to the bank in question and inform that you do not wish to be contacted by the recovery agent.

3. File an FIR, detailing threats and instances, against the chairman of the company that employed the agent. Make the agent a party to the FIR, along with all his contact details.

Complain to the bank and to the RBI. The RBI can impose any penalty on a bank for violation of its guidelines.

I completely agree to the comment made above. These Terror Agents of the Standard Chartered Bank have hired goons to collect non-existant dues from people who have no idea how and why the charges so told by the Bank are calculated. Further, these GOONS do not care for the laws of India or anyone for that matter and further boast that this process of recovery of dues without following the laws and procedures is in active connivance with the Bank officials at the highest level...

Now, they have hired female goons who do not identify themselves. They call from Bangalore. They harras for payment for undelivered and unsolicited cards in Standard Chartered Bank.
