[Resolved]  State Bank of India — Fund transfer through GRPT

Dear Sir,

I am a customer of SBI , (kodambakkam branch, chennai, tamilnadu) for several years. Since after my husbands death i had great problem to transfer my husbands ( who had account in the same branch sbi) amount to my account because of a manager who created a lot of problem to me and my sons. Now day before yesterday (22 september 2009) from the branch i made a transaction of 1,50,000 rupees through GRPT. I knew that GRPT transaction will within few minutes. But I was been Told that I need to wait till end of the day to get the funds transferred to beneficary account. On the same day I approached bank manager regarding this, but he too said to wait to till 4 pm. The money was badly needed by beneficary. The transaction did happen on that day. On next day i went and asked the status of transaction to accountant. He directed me to some other lady . That lady told fund is not in suspense account. Again I approached manager, he just said go to accountant and ask him to call the beneficary bank. Accountant did so. But beneficary bank manager told it amount has not come to the bank. I requested accountant to call rtgs or grpt department. But instead of calling , he gave me the grpt phone number and asked me to call from my mobile. I was depressed because my uncle who is the beneficary didn't get the money on time.I called the GRPT section which is in mumbai. They said the grpt system is down for 2 days.

My question is why the branch people is not doing their duties and asking the customer to make call . If grpt system was down for last two days , why the branch officials did not inform me before making the transaction.Till now I am not able to trace where my money has gone.

To be honest I have a complaint against the sbi kodambakkam branch officials who has failed to do their duties.

If the transaction has is not successful on first day, why didn't the branch officials take steps to know what happened to that transaction. finally when i called the respective grpt officials i came to know that there was a issue with grpt. What technology is being implemented in such a nationalised bank like sbi which made a transaction inspite of grpt failure?

I request you to take my issue as if it were your own issue and take action against the sbi kodambakkam branch.

This has affected me a lot because there are lot of customer who does not know all these rules and thinking that whatever bank officials tell is correct.

Please look into it.

Regards,

Mrs Rema Devi Balakrishnan

very good you done great, the bank employees need to inform this is the situation at the point of time. there is no response from the bank, it means they don't worry about customers. it's same to the indian banks and customer will face lot of problem.
