Sir, This is about 3-4 months back when I had received call from SBI Credit Card Division requesting me to apply for a credit Card. Initially I refused as I already hold two cards. To lure me this executive assured a minimum of 3 lacs credit limit just on a payment of joining fee of Rs. 500/- (without mentioning taxes extra). This really seemed somewhat worth applying for. So I went ahead and applied for it, submitting all the relevant papers. Thereafter ppl from the bank visited my home and office address for verification. Once that was done I got the cards along with add on cards in about a month's time. To my shock and surprise the credit limit offered was a meagre Rs. 32,000/-. This was so embarassing. When I raised a complaint on this and wanted to cancel all my cards, some executive Ms. Selvy at the customer care assured to take up the case and assured that the joining fee would be reversed and also pleaded that I continue with the card. I even got a call from the cards division in Chennai stating that the complaint would be registered against the executive and that someone from the division wold call up informing the enhancement of my credit limit. Based on this information, I used my card for fuel purchase worth Rs. 1200/-. Even after my repeated complaints I am yet to get any statement from SBI.Some days later I just got a message on my mobile that my joining fee is payable by the due date. When enquired I was told that the same has been reversed and that I need to pay only Rs. 1230/- for my fuel purchase. Now where has this Rs. 30 come from when it is clearly stated that there is 0% surcharge on fuel purchase above Rs. 400/-. Today when again I got a call from Chennai on my complaint mail, I requested the executive to cancel my cards. On this I was once again handed over to the closure supervisor at Chennai - Ms. Selvy and she advised me to apply for a credit enhancement after four months. Why should I waste my time and apply for this ? It was SBI who came looking for patronage and not us going over asking for cards. Firstly I was fooled into applying on false assurance and now I am to apply for enhancement. Over the discussion, God knows what went through this female's mind and she started to laugh. Aint this something really humiliating ? I am making a complaint and the staff on the other end finds it so funny. Now I am not going to pay for even my fuel purchase unless this lady calls up and apologises for her behaviour. I do hope you will look into the matter and do the needful. Awaiting your response.
