Sir, [protected]
I shall be obliged to narrate my rue as below for your consideration and necessary action over the vexed issue.
My father viz. R. Kesava Iyer worked as Ele-school teacher and got retired on 31.05.1970 from Thirumarugal panchyat Union now in Nagapatinam dist.
He had his last breath on 21.02.1997 till then he was drawing his pension
through SBI Nannilam branch.
After his demise it was duly intimated and stopped forthwith without
intimation to legal heirs
However, there was a revision of his minimum pension and DA as per court order posthumously and the due is to be paid till day though umpteen correspondences over the same are of no avail.
I started the correspondence while I was in service (i.e.) during 1997 as AO/TNEB and now retired and a senior citizen.
I shall furnish the chronology of the correspondences wherever the needle
pointed to as below :
I addressed to the treasury Nannilam with a copy to SBI Nannilam (Proof enclosed) to which jurisdiction his record fell; but to no response, complained to Dist. Collector, Thiruvarur upon whose pursuance, I got the reply (Proof enclosed) from the former; stating in deference to the bifurcation of the district, and the jurisdiction of his service fell to Nagapattinam dist. Files were transferred to Nagapattinam SBI by treasury Nannilam due to pension payment through PSB Scheme.
I restarted to correspond with them to get the reply (Proof enclosed) that the file was transferred to the concerned bank to make the payment accordingly
Based on that I corresponded with the subject bank to no avail hence, approached Bankers’ Ombudsman and upon his direction I got the reply from the SBI/Regional Office / Chennai stating that the duty of calculating is not theirs but will make the payment upon advice from the treasury, which is not correct.
When I reverted to treasury Nannilam they replied that the entire file is with the banker Nagapattinam and without that they cannot compute (I agree)
Now the banker says the file is not traceable in which case wedded with no relevance, why did they accept the file in toto is anybody’s guess
I therefore, having got vexed with correspondences – imperative to add that I worked out the due as I, versatile out of expediency of my erstwhile job, simply a cross check would have materialsed the clearance of payment long back, they made me to correspond pillar to post and at this rate I doubt this rolling stone would get momentum and if atleast my sibling could get the payment before she becomes SENIOR CITIZEN.
Hence, as a render of last resort, I approach your honour to come to my rescue and enable me to get the payment together with interest 24% amounting Rs.3.5 Lakhs for their dereliction and as you deem fit.
Thanking you
Faithfully yours,
(K. Balasubramanian)
