[Resolved]  Tata Photon Plus — looting customers by not giving proper information

Hi,

Recently I have purchased a tata photon plus device. august 3rd to be precise and my tataphoton number is [protected].
I have taken a monthly plan of 10GB free data download which costs rs 1100/- and with a discount of rs 200/- it comes down to rs 900/-. I have also opted for a night add-on pack of 10GB data which costs another rs 200 and the website claims that the night add-on pack is applicable only from night 11pm to morning 7am.

I opted for this combo of 10GB day time and 10GB night time which is going to cost me totally rs 1100/- (900 + 200). Since i'm a student and i'm not still earning, i was using this very carefully not to cross my allowed free usage of total 20GB. most of the time i was using night time only.

After few days of my usage, i was calling them and mailing them regularly enquiring about my night usage details. They kept on saying that it is not possible to view them separately and that i can check my total usage (day time + night time) together on the website online and that the night usage will be deducted at end of the month in the final bill. I have the proofs of all this conversations in my mail. Every one said same thing , not to worry and go ahead and use it.

in the last week of the month they have disconnected my device saying that i have crossed my credit limit of 2500. I was shocked... !! at that time i just used 16GB of data most of which is night usage. so i still had 4 GB of data left. When i sent a series of mails, and a series of calls, they said that it was a mistake and they told me to pay rs 1600/- to acitvate the device. When i asked them that why shud i pay more than rs 1100?? they said that they would adjust the extra amount in next months bill. I paid the amount.

I was very scared of further usage and used only 1GB more and that too strictly night time. At the end of the month my totall bill was rs 4600/- out of which it said i cleared rs 1600/- . This time i was totally shocked and again had to call them around 10 times. sent them many mails. They again said that they would check it.

Finally one day i got a call from them saying that my bill was absolutely correct. I told them that i still have 3GB of data left for the month and how can it cross rs 1100/- . Finally they revealed the top secret that for claiming the night usage, i should disconnect my device and connect it at 11pm again. Otherwise it will be counted as day usage only. Even on the website they did not give any such information.

I was very angry with them for not telling me this from the beginning of the month inspite of hundreds of interactions. After arguing so much with them they said that they can only give rs 500 discount.

I ended up paying rs rs 4120/- when i'm supposed to pay only rs 1100/-

They looted from me rs 3000/-. The government should sue the company for looting the customers.
I'm a student and i had to struggle a lot to get those extra 3000 rs. please do justice to me. and save many others from such a disaster.

I had great respect for the TATAS for their sincerity and loyalty... but now its all gone.

"Day/Night classification for data download eligibility in relation to a particular session will be done on the basis of start time of the session."

According to the above statement, If I start a session during Day time(7:00 AM to 11:00 PM) and continue the session into the Night time(11:00 PM to 7:00 PM), without disconnecting the device, it will be considered as Day usage. But, if I start a session during Night time and continue the session into the Day time, will it be considered as Night usage?

And one more thing. Who on the earth would understand that, from the website that we need to disconnect the device and reconnect it.

The above person clearly stated that even after repeated queries you have not told him about disconnecting the device.

It would be better if you mention the details about the disconnecting the device on the website(Should be easily accessible to users. Not somewhere hidden where even google can't find them).

It would be even better if you remove this irritating procedure of disconnecting and just do the classification of Day/Night usage based on the time, by just starting a new session whenever Day/Night time starts.

Do you feel that a mere 500rs is a good will gesture when he is just a student and had to pay 4000 bucks?

Who in their right mind can understand their terms of disconnecting the device for night usage by just looking at the info given at the site? i am really disappointed that these things are taking place with a company like TATAs.

I thank adityatelidevara for sharing his problem because i was almost about to buy the device.Now i should look at other options like Airtel or Reliance. For me money is not imporant, but the service is what we all want!!
And i would recommend all the people not to go for a service where they think they can getaway with anything once the user buys their service.
