Tata Sky — Getting just 9 months service on purchase of Annual Subscription | |||
Hello, On 07/03/2011, I paid Rs 6000 towards Annual Mega Pack charges(which was supposed to last 1 year, till March 2012). However I was given a email reminder in December 2011 itself that my subscription is lasting only uptill 20th December 2011. Surprised, I dug out the payment details, and flashed it across to the Tata sky authorities. Subsequently I also wrote to the nodal officer twice. Though 3 different representatives of tata sky contacted me, following my each representation, all of them quoted a unmentioned (stupid) clause requiring that after making the annual subscription payment, a phone call confirmation has to be made by me(the consumer). Later I realized, that even for the previous year I had subscribed Rs 5500(old annual package value) for the same annual mega package. By oversight, even during that year I have been made to renew my subscription before the completion of 12 months duration. My own profile page on tata sky website describes me as annual mega package subscriber. This being so, I do not see the need for another phone call from me(the consumer) after 07/03/2011 confirming subscription to annual mega pack. I have been a tata sky consumer since Febraury 2008, having taken the connection in Calcutta and transferring the same to Mysore in January 2009. My current subscription should be revalidated uptil 06 March 2012(end of 12 month period from March 2011). It may please be noted that I am not asking for any correction for the previous year. With in 30 mins of my lodging the above complaint a TATA SKY executive called me assuring he'd help. In fact my subscription has been extended about 3 weeks. Still the gap between my expectation and this extension is BIG.The same executive promptly called back and on my expression of the GAP he has reassured me on giving another try with his higher ups. I am hopefully waiting..
I am very happy at the response of TATA SKY and even more HAPPIER at what this forum has done to me.
