[Resolved]  Tata Sky — Pathetic Customer Service

First of all, someone please listen the OBD which is after dialling call center number. She says press A/8, no body understands, if you press 8, it will say sorry no option pressed. if you press A then it will go to showcase option. If you want to save money on call center, please change your brand to Tata SHY than Tata Sky....

We had shifted our house from Saket to Surajkund,Faridabad. This required a relocation of our Tata Sky connection that we were using. For this

1) I called the customer care service, on 3 Nov, to forward a request. I was told i had to first recharge my account for the request to be forwarded.

2) I got a recharge done on 6 Nov, and called up customer care to request for relocation. I was told that relocation would be executed within 48 hours of the filing of request.

3) Then i received a message on 7th of Nov at 11:20 am that relocation would be done before 9th Nov 11:20 am. I called up customer care again on 7th, and told them that my request was urgent as it concerned a patient coming back from the hospital, after a paralytic attack and having nothing to do except watch T.V. The executive told me that he had forwarded the request as Urgent, and that somebody would surely be sent on 8th morning to do the relocation.

4) After waiting till the evening on 8th, i called up customer care to inquire. I was told that my relocation was scheduled latest by 9th morning and it will be serviced surely by then.

5) Again, with no service on 9th, I called up customer care to complaint. I was told that an engineer would call me soon and confirm the address, and that relocation would be done before 6pm on 9th itself.

6) I did not receive any call nor any service, so I called up customer care centre again on 9th at 6pm. I was really frustrated so I told the executive to connect me to a senior. After a long wait, i was finally connected to Rachit from the Mohali Branch. He assured me that the service would be provided by 8:30pm. Hence, I waited.

7) Then finally on 11th, the engineer came to do the relocation.

For more than a week, me and my brother kept on calling customer care; waited for hours for our calls to be transferred to an executive; repeatedly requested for an urgent relocation; answered innumerable calls from odd service centres like chandigarh, malviya nagar, mohali, etc; being assured that service would be provided soon; with our father in serious condition, back from the hospital from a paralysis attack, and having nothing to do but wait for the T.V. This has caused a lot a agony and stress in the family.

To add to all this, immediately after the service, our Tata digicomp stopped working. We are now being told that to receive repair service, we would first have to forward a request at the customer care centre and it will be done surely within 48 hours. I guess this starts the whole gruesome process again.

So, I am left with no patience to undergo the trauma once again and therefore reach the Consumer Forum for financial as well as mental redressal.
I am an existing customer of Tata Sky & I am enjoying Semi Annual Mega Pack, which is going to expire today. Since yesterday I have been trying to recharge online of Rs.3300/- for renewal of the said pack. But each time it is showing ‘Transaction Unsuccessful’. I have called up customer care for atleast 10/12 times. Each time the so-called customer care executives are coming up with different excuses, like ‘transaction under process, will be effective soon, recharge cannot be done by Axis Bank Debit card, server is down’ & so on. Moreover they have called me to ask whether I am interested to continue the package. Number of times they are transferring the phonecalls to a different department & ultimately the lines get disconnected. This type of service from such a reputed company of quite unexpected. I am getting tired of such type of pathetic service.
Worst customer service that any DTH service can provide...Pathetic team on the call centre who is so arrogant...till things work fine it is good....the day the problem hits...that is when you realize that there is no support for customer....

i am an existing customer of tata sky. my id no. [protected]. i am a govt employ. i have tansferred fom varanasi to gorakhpur. i did request to instalation at gorakhpur on 01-may-2012. i am ready to pay reinstalation fee. but they are not yet responding me. i have lost my seven days recharged value and loss is continue.
please make reinstal arrangements and adjust my value.

You can address your complaint to tata sky’s official handle @tatasky. I once faced an issue where I paid for the package amount but my account was de-activated. I tweeted regarding this complaint and tata sky immediately responded to my tweet. All I had to do is submit my subscriber ID. The customer service team instantly gave a callback and my account was activated. I suggest you too should provide your subscriber ID either here or tweet regarding your issue with this complaint link. I am sure they will look into your matter and try resolving it

My set top box was working fine however i kept getting messages from tata sky that i need to upgrade to MPEG4 box to view all channels... I had called tata sky on saturday and the same day someone came and replaced the box.. He mentioned that it will be activated in 4 hours... I have tried reaching tata sky helpline numbers for the last 3 days and i must say this is the worst customer service i have ever encountered in my life, that too with tata i never expected.. May be the call center is outsourced to some 3rd world city, people dont understand english, they disconnect calls on your face, they put you on hold while you are talking, they transfer the call while you are talking, basically the worst run call center... Today morning i spoke to someone by name Priyanka for 3 times and she disconnected my call all 3 times..

I have tried reaching the call center atleast 15 times in the last 4 days...They somehow just dont understand...

My core issue is that my connection is not active, it says the smart card is not compatible with the box...

1. I need this issue fixed immediately...

2. i need credit for all 4 days where there was no service..the money you have deducted from my account

3. Serious action taken on the call center you have outsourced...I am sure you should run a survey with other english customers who unfortunately cannot talk in hindi...
