[Resolved]  Tata Sky — Unfair Marketing Offer

I have a slight issue with TataSky’s Marketing Strategy. This week I have renewed my account due on 6th Sept12 by Rs.6000/- for Mega South Pack for 1st connection and Rs.1760/- for 2nd connection...

However one of my friends who didnot have DTH.....got a offer from Tata Sky and i have noted that Addon benefits are given to new subscribers like 1yr subscription to Businessworld Magazine AND Complimentary gift voucher worth Rs 3000 and the initial chgs for new customer including Set Box and installation is just Rs.6091.

This is strange...as a local Tata Sky member for the last 5yrs+ i ended up paying more than a new member and also no complimentary have been released to the existing loyal customers.

Is this what tata do to loyal customers?

Do I assume that if i close & come as a new member i will pay less and get complimentaries...which is strange and as a loyal customer i object to this marketing strategy. I donot believe that just getting a new customer should be the prime motto….retaining old customers is as important …. They may be many silent customers who may have moved away at this instance…but I thought of brining this to ur notice. I have been sending mails to helpdesk and also spoken to ur pune call centre rep but all they say is “sir u are a premium customer…we will look into this” and so far no offical written clarification has come to me

Can someone help me


I have been a loyal customer and have been renewing without reminders despite the hot competition from Reliance, Dish etc…. Donot u think i[censored] were in my place u would also have felt a bit betrayed and disappointed…. Old and Loyal customers need to be given some discounts or complimentary gifts.
