[Resolved]  Times Of India Newspaper — Reduction of font size to increase ad-space

Address: North 24 Parganas, West Bengal

My parents have been loyal TOI subscribers for almost couple of decades and I have only picked up the tradition. My mother loves reading your 'LEISURE' page in 'Calcutta Times'. Infact, her day remains incomplete unless she reads the comic space daily for her love of characters like Garfield and Archies and also the Health Capsule.
Off late its been noticed that TOI has increased the 'TV & Radio' section on that page (which is not bad) BUT by reducing the space available for LEISURE. This accomodation is done by minimising the font size of the comics making them literally microscopic!! It is hard even for me (6/6 perfect vision) to read such squeezed up miniature writings so i can well imagine what pain my mother (-16 eye power) goes through each day to quench her thirst of reading and relaxation.
TOI has increased the no. of pages in the past few years to increase ad-space, we cant complaint much about it even though it makes reading a newspaper so bother-some cause one has to literally search for the news content amidst the Ads. But how can they REDUCE the FONT SIZE of the reading content making reading itself a headache!!! This difficulty must be faced by many many old subscribers as we the next-gen hardly read anything which is not digital !
Now my request is simple that newspaper companies should please do the needful by seriously think about their 'loyal aged readers' who are already quite dissatisfied with the quality of news content and overwhelming advertisements curbing reading space. Increasing the font size is the least they can do and if it leads to increasing 1 extra page then it also gives those corners tops & bottoms as AD-SPACE.

This is very ridiculous the VRL service is looting the people, even their so called agents are selling the tickets in black for 1000. I have booked a ticket fom hubli to bangalore through an agent, I am booking the tickets from past 4 years to the same agent, but this time that bloody agent sold my ticket to some one else just because i have not received his call. still there was 5 hours time to travel mean while time he sold it for higher price, these people are looting the public & our govt is quite, please take the necessary action against the VRL bus service, they are also bounded by the law not out of this. please save the public from this terrific looters. They should make the standard rate for all the private buses, please govt wake up before its too late.
