[Resolved]  Titan Eye+ — Defective Progressive Lenses

In fact, I have already suffered by the poor service and quality of Titan Eye+ Store at Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. I was delivered a pair of progressive lenses (EE149SW) at a cost of Rs. 2380 on 16.02.09 vide Invoice No: 7001360 and these were found to be defective as they did not confirm to the specifications given by the Eye Doctor. These were taken by the Store who promised to rectify the defect and deliver them on 3.3.09. But I have to receive the lenses till date i.e. 18.03.09. It shows that this Tata entity does not live up to the quality and efficiency of other Tata Group companies.

Although I am not from Tital Eye+, I belong to the optical trade in Delhi.

Firstly, Progressive lenses are available in the market from around Rs. 1500/- onwards. However, they are not lenses which have any sort of gaurantee as far as the comfort level of the wearer is concerned. I would advise you to find out what brand lenses have they used. In my personal opinion, Essilor Varilux have the best progressives although their range starts from around Rs. 3000/- onwards. Carl Zeiss is as good but more expensive. GKB lenses are cheaper but not as error free.

Dear Sir, Titan have always been to the quality up to required standards. As we dont deliver and product with out QC that why we have take maximum time to deliver right product. As the procedure is that as lens have go through many Quality checks and then deliver to customer,
Dear sir, I dont agree with the type of comments people gave. In any OPTICAL outlet this kind of problems can happen. There are people, also give wonderful comments which encourages you to do better service.I am sure there must be some people who are extremely happy and must be praising about the services rendered by your same staff.
But you must take a challenge to yourself that the customers who are not happy, gave these types of sickening comments must be happy one day, may be at any cost.Satisfied customers are there who will come on their regular intervals, but must keep a track of those unsatisfied customers.

Earlier I have used Nikon lens. Recently went to Titaneye+ at Patna for another pair. prior to purchase I informed them that I am already using the Nikon brand therefore I want similar or better result. They have suggested me 1.5 Varilux comfort. I have purchased the same vide invoice no S9/854 dated 02/06/2009. I am not satisfied with the result, weather it is a substandard material or I do not know ? At the same time till date they have not supplied the certificate of authenticity as always advertise by essilor. Some time I do feel to use old Nikon.
i am 44 yrs male, doing business and have to work with small letters every day. i am suffering problem with both long & short sight. for that i am using spects since long. i saw commercial of CRIZAL on tv and i opted for it. i paid heavely for it. details of my spects is as under:
lens : RX VX ELLIPSE 150 CZL
retailer : MANGALDEEP OPTICS (KODAMBAKAM, CHENNAI)
ref no : AMIK date : 27/11/2009
i was told that, this lens won't get scratches, has an anti glare effects, water condensations won't be on lens when i leave air cond. room or chamber.
initially, for few months i found the claims are true but after that i am facing problems. i put one e-mail and the company person contact that retailer and retailer called me also for this problem. 2 months have passed away but no response from company. i felt very bad after paying such high amount for glass, customer care is not taking care of customer.
its not an world class company. i will share my experience with all my buddies and will not allow to go for your brand. i am now shifting to Japanes brand.

the above comments are Very true.
If you have any Good Optician as a friend, please ask his advice for Progressive lenses.
He will surely discourage you from going for it.
Because, these lenses only for style & makes you to look younger. (there won't be any bifocal old man look)
But the very purpose of giving comfortable viewing won't be there.
Repeat the lenses won't give you comfortable view.
If you ride a bike, you may feel you are riding at a height of 6 feet instead of normal 3 feet
Actually it will not be helpful for wearing in any outing, walking, running etc.
Mainly good for Professors and Lecturers who work only in the class Rooms or Library.
My 13 K lenses are a Great joke from a good Company.
If you are already a Wearer of any + OR - GLASSES, You will surely feel the problem, and complaint and comment it, as useless.
Before spending many thousands ask for comments from the existing users in your locality
Progressive lenses makes the Opticians and the Manufacturers to progress (minting money) but not the customers

Hi, I am Anuj, 55/M from delhi. I have been using progressives for the last 10 years. I have tried different opticians in delhi. I always go for varilux comfort. But i dont get the same comfort all the time. What i realized is that not only do the lenses matter, it is the markings they do and their fitting that also matter.
Till date the most comfortable progressive lenses are the ones that i purchased from Paul Opticals in Nehru Place. Anyone who has tried different opticians and are still not satisfied can try them.
10/10 for Paul Opticals.

Reliable vendor addresses will help me great.
One prime concern, should I go for progressive lenses or be satisfied with tri-focal inconvenient lenses?
