Sir, Non receipt of maturity amount of my daughter Pooja Chamarthy Investor ID[protected] no of Bonds 172 Please give the maturity amount when was it despatched, and other particulars.
Ramakrishna Chamarthy (Father of Pooja)
The ARS Bonds matured on April 2 and I have still not received the maturity payments for my daughter.
UTI seems to be withholding the maturity payments for the ARS Bonds on every possible flimsy pretext. Way back in December 2008, I received a 'Form for updation of details' that asked for change of address, if any, and bank account details of the investor. This was supposed to facilitate payment of maturity cheques. I filled this and personally handed it over to my nearest UTI MF office, alon with a copy of a cancelled cheque.

This was a totally redundant exercise, since all investors have been regularly receiving interest cheques at the addresses on record. As for bank details, UTI is not doing a direct credit to any bank account. It plans to send out the maturity cheques, the same way it sent out the interest cheques.

Coming back to the process, the Status Updation form was followed by a Public Notice in newspapers explaining the procedure for maturity. I had already complied with the requirements stated therein.

I had my misgivings about UTI. Therefore, from mid-March onwards, I have been trying to contact UTI to confirm whether they received my form and noted the bank details. But none of the UTI offices had information on this. I was referred to the UTI ISL office in Navi Mumbai. My fingers have gone numb calling that number and that of my local UTI ISL office (Delhi), but to no avail.

Yesterday, 20 days after the maturity date, I finally went to the local UTI ISL office personally. I was not at all surprised to see a lot of my fellow sufferers thronging the place with the same question: why have we not received the maturity payments yet? And all o[censored]s got random responses, with the investors being blamed for the delay: the charges ranged from: you have not submitted the bond certificates, you have not given us your bank details, your signature has not been verified... What is this all about? Why is UTI acting so sanctimonious? And will they pay us an additional month's interest?

I have invested government bonds, bonds from other FIs, Post Office savings instruments, etc. But I have never had this experience.

Dear Sir,

I had taken up the Scheme CGGF-86 vide Unit Certificate No. [protected] - 500 Units (Face value of Rs. 10) Unit Holder's Name S.Shruthi. The date of Maturity mentioned in the certificate is 08.09.2017. I have the Original CGGF-86 certificate No. mentioned above still with me. On 15th Dec. 2003 I received a letter from UTI mentioning that the CGGF-86 scheme is foreclosed with effect from 01/04/2004 and the investment held by us has been alloted to 6.60% Tax free ARS Bonds of Rs. 100 each. under Invester ID No.[protected]. In the letter they had mentioned that the guardian's details is ot mentioned whereas the CGGF-6 certificate clearly shows Applicant's Name: Sunitha Sathyanathan. I am a NRE. It was also mentioned that if the proposed guardian was the donor when the amount was invested then the attestation of guardian's signature by the banker is not required. Since I am the applicant' as well as the donar accordingly i feel my signature attestation is not required. But i have not received the original Bond certificate from UTI till now. I had been receiving the interests.

Now the bond is matured kindly let me know the procedure to be followed.

Pls. reply to my email: [protected]@yahoo.com.

Regards.
sunitha
