Vodafone - Blackberry / Blackberry 8520 Curve — Request for Handset replacement / Refund

Address:Gurgaon, Haryana

Hi,

I had purchased a Blackberry 8520 Curve from the Vodafone outlet at JMD Regent Square at Gurgaon on the 5th of November. I started experiencing some voice issues in December itself but I assumed those to be Vodafone network problem and did not action upon them.

On 7th Feb my phone completely broke down and I couldn't make any voice calls from the handset. Vodafone executives were extremely unfriendly and unhelpful in taking a backup of my phone, resulting in complete loss of all my data. I finally gave my handset to Vodafone on the 15th Feb vide job sheet no. 1856. I was informed that it will take 14 days to get the handset repairedreplaced. I requested for a spare handset but was not given any. I got no revert or information from Blackberry or Vodafone till the 12th Mar 2010. For nearly a month I had no clue about when am I even getting my handset back and even on visiting the vodafone office, the only answer that I got everytime was that it will take 3 to 4 days more. On 12th, Rahul from Blackberry informed me that I am getting a replaced handset on the 15th March.

On 20th Mar, I faced a voice issue with the replaced handset of a different nature. My handset was not catching signals properly in places where the signals were even slightly weak. I could make calls using the same sim in another handset standing at the same place but I couldn't make the same call using my Curve. I tried from 2 different phones and the result was the same. It was clear that the issue was not a network issue but a handset issue. I informed Rahul at the Vodafone office and he asked me to get the device to him for formatting and then try again. On 22nd March, Rahul reformatted my device but I encountered the same voice issue on the 24th again. So i decided to connect with the Vodafone Nodal office and mailed them since the Blackberry representative at Vodafone office had made it clear that he cant help any further. Whatever could happen can hapen only through Nodal. On 29th March , I received an email from Sukhwinder at Nodal asking for some more details and I replied immediately. There was no response from the Vodafone Nodal offce for onths and I dint haer from them till 8th May 2010 despite repeated mails requesting them for reverts. On 8th May , Sukhwinder from the Nodal office told me to submit the handset at the Vodafone store which will be delivered to their Okhla Office for checking. I informed him that I will not allow any repairs to my ohone since this was SUPPOSED to be a new replaced handset. infact, I had clearly mentioned to them that I will either take a seled box from them or they need to refund my money. He assured me that it will take them ONLY ONE day and that he will get back to me immediately. Hence, I submitted my phone on the 12th May and till date I have not received any response from the Nodal office despite my reminder on the the 25th may. I do not know what is the status of my phone, where it is etc.

I have sufferd a lot financially as well as mentally and plead you to look inot the matter. I do not wish to continue the Blackberry services from Vodafone as they have no reliability whatsoever. I would want my cash to be refunded from Vodafone.

Regards,
Anchal Kansal

Well, its surprising what mockery Vodafone makes of it Nodal Offices. I did get a call and a mail telling me that they can change my handset despite my clearly telling them that I will not take another OPEN replaced hadset after my last bad experience which was nothing but an "old rectified piece". They are so cooly telling me that "they cant refund cash since its not a company policy and cant give a sealed pack handset". I am sure that the company policy says "Give defective goods to the customer and fleece them.. maximum what they can do is to create a hue and cry... we have eaten up their money and DO NOT CARE any further".. I wish there was atleast somebody responsible enough to respond and understand the concept of "Customer Service". It seems Vodafone is quite a pro at " Customer Harrassment" .. Well, I dont think such kind of companies can be dealt with any other way other than legal action, coz their concept of business is limited to profiteering and does not bother about the concept of Customer Service, let alone, Customer Delight.
Vodafone is a very bad service provider in terms of customer service. they are not at all customer friendly. this is hardly a surprise. I think their license should be completely withdrawn. there should be some minimum basic standard if customer service that every telecom compnay should have . they and their employess dont know customer service.
