[Resolved]  Vodafone — Discontinuation of a particular service without customer's approval

I have been a Vodafone Mumbai service user since over 10 years now

Vodafone is being very selfish with discontinuation of a particular service that I have been using since quite a few years on 3 connections

There is a very straight forward concept of Vodafone that when they actually discontinue a service, they discontinue it for appliers henceforth but they have never discontinued it for the existing users. Like if there is a particular plan called "Plan A" and if they want to discontinue it, they discontinue it for new customers or for the existing customers who are not using "Plan A" but want to start using it. But they keep the plan active for the customers who are already using the "Plan A". But this time I get a call from their customer service saying that from 4th of October 2013 onwards, they are discontinuing the plan on all 3 numbers that I have been using. This is not right, they are not supposed to do this. And their executive dont want to take my complaint, neither ready to give me an email address where I can write my complaint to. I finally managed to find a few email addresses which are the complaint email ids in Vodafone department and I wrote my complaint to them a few days back, but they not getting back to me with a solution.

I have also attached the proof all the emails that I have sent to Vodafone with this article & they have never replied to any of them

The following is the email that I wrote to them:

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is a complain email and my complaint is as follows

Have tried to get in touch with any higher authority at vodafone who can resolve my issue, but all my emails are bouncing back

And every time I write an email, I get an auto response email saying my issue will be worked upon in 48 hours but I don't get any revert from any of your executives.. please try to make things convenient for your loyal customers this time

My complaint:

My name is Rakshit Shah & I have been a very old customer of Vodafone

My postpaid numbers are [protected], [protected] & [protected] and my prepaid number is [protected]

I have been using all the above mentioned Vodafone connections since quite a few years and have always been a loyal customer. You can check my history for my previous records. Even though I have faced problems with network and service with Vodafone, I have still stuck on to it.

I have been using the Vodafone Live Unlimited data plan (Rs.99/-) monthly rental on all the 3 postpaid connections over a period of time now and suddenly today I get a phone call from Vodafone saying that the plan is being discontinued and I have to choose an alternative data plan now. Firstly as per my knowledge is concerned, even if any service/plan is getting discontinued it means that it is being discontinued for the customers who are not using it and want to apply for it henceforth. But the customers who are already using that particular plan are not supposed to be deprived of the plan. Even in past there have been quite a few plans in Vodafone those have been discontinued, but they have been discontinued for new appliers and not for the existing customers. It is supposed to be discontinued for the existing users only if they opt for discontinuing it.

And as far as I am concerned, I have been quite satisfied with the VLU99 data plan since the day I have been using it all 3 postpaid numbers [protected], [protected] & [protected]. Hence I am really not happy with the option of discontinuing it. There are many other service providers which offer a range of good data plans but I do not want to go through all the headache of porting the connections and besides that, I still want to stick on to Vodafone because of the long relationship that is already built with Vodafone, provided my Vodafone Live Unlimited data plan is not discontinued.

I hope my email is going to be considered important and a valuable one and I am hoping to get a revert from you soon with a positive feedback.

As conveyed over the call, we wish to inform you that it was promotional offer and now that plan is no more available. The same has been revised from Vodafone Live unlimited to Vodafone Mobile Connect @1GB. We re-confirm that we are unable to provide the same plan.
