[Resolved] Vodafone — Monthly charges for Internet Services that were not requested | |||
Vodafone has enabled zero rental Internet Services [Edge / GPRS] on my phone without my request for the third time. On the past two occasions, when I logged a complaint, they reversed charges & disabled the service. However, on this third instance [Complaint#[protected]], their corporate assist team [Akil Shaikh / Akbar Sayyed / Sumit Patel] refuses to disable this. As I use a smartphone, there are applications on the phone which access the Internet whenever available. Initially, I had no concern because this zero rental service was not available hence my phone used the Internet only when Wifi was available. But now, I am getting a bill with extra charges for Internet usage as my handset does not have a feature / setting to disable the cellular data services. I am confident post my complaint to their corporate assist team that, Vodafone is doing this intentionally to all its consumers having smart phones & not subscribed to a cellular data plan so as to increase its revenue.I am using this forum to spread awareness & also seek assistance from anyone who can direct me to procedure to file online complaint with DOT. The usage charges are insignificantly low but the method is morally incorrect. Was this information helpful? | |||
