[Resolved]  Vodafone — 3G services poor

Address:Mumbai City, Maharashtra

Vodafone has been advertising about their 3G extensively but according to letter sent to me ony 50 percent of their cell sites are 3G as of today. As a result i escalated the matter to their CMO, Mumbai circle CEO and their India Customer Support head and as a result they gave me 3G free for 2 months (MI1250 plan)

I wish to share this information with people on this group so you can also question Vodafone on why they are charging for 3G when they are not fully ready to provide the services across Mumbai. I believe it amounts to cheating consumers--when you advertise a service that is only 50 percent functional and charge customers a steep amount for it.

I shall soon be uploading the photo copy of the letter from Vodafone admitting that they are only 50 percent ready. In the mean time I suggest anyone using Vodafone 3G service in Mumbai and facing problems should write into appellate authority at Vodafone and ask for refund and free 3G plan till the time they make 3G fully operational across Mumbai.

Numbers to call: CMO Kumar Ramanathan-[protected]; Rohit Adhya, Mumbai Circle CEO-[protected]; Madhumati Lele, India Support head-[protected].

I am also trying to find out i[censored]nder the advertising federations regulations in India does this amount to cheating where you advertise and sell a service which by the company's own admission is only 50 percent operational. If anyone has the contacts for filing such a complaint please do let me know.

do let me know what vodafone officials tell you when you raise the issue with them. we could probably file a complaint with the regulatory authority trai and other relevant parties as a group.

i have spoken to your top executives listed here. why don't you put your explanation. why don't you post your response here.
I also having complaints from vodafone staff and the culture they all, from 198 (special customer care number) to NODEL office executives, if nodel office had so many compalints from different departments say billing, services etc.why they NODEL OFFICERS did`nt take some lawful eye on issues & put explanation here if they were serious about their company`s reputation there are so many to support DHAVAL VALIA & if they think only law notice can solve these problems started by their executive level to nodel office (which are goveren by company itself) then we customers also have an option to go for TRAI, CONSUMER COURT, ETC.and send lacs of so called notices.
Hi Dhaval,

I am also a Vodafone customer for both their mobile services and for the 3 G services which had been resently launched by them.

I have also faced a problem with Vodafone & their executives. I feel that Vodafone being an MNC feels that they can get away with anything without even apologizing or compensating for the mental trauma and the loss i have had to suffer. Let them realize that this high handed attitude they have is only someday going to backfire against them. Please do not take your customers for granted.

I can't get into all the details but Dhaval if you plan a legal suit against Vodafone please let me know since i am also planning on filing a consumer complaint against Vodafone India. My email address is [protected]@hotmail.com.

The 3 G services of Vodafone cannot be called 3G if the end customer is not getting the right speed. I have only experienced speeds o[censored]pto 1.2 Mbps only for a limited time, at times even pages like Hotmail etc... take several minutes to load. I believe 3G speed should be atleast 3 Mbps. I have purchased the costlier 3G device which i guess supports speeds upto 7.2 Mbps. The 3G usb modem keeps disconnecting on its own several times during usage.

I guess Dhaval has a point if ony 50 percent of their cell sites are 3G as of today, then why should they be charging the customer 3G tariffs when we are experiencing slow internet speed. We can understand that some teething problems occur but it cannot be taken for granted that being a mobile internet service these problems can keep reoccuring. This 3G modem is actually much slower than even a Broadband usb modem.
Dear Mr. Dhaval,

Take them on legally. This is one more opportunity for awakening Indians. You could lead this consumer movement. You are with in your rights so long as you are truthful. Take them on!!

Get more people to join you. Get the press involved. Call a press conference of Vodafone customers who have been cheated. What idea of customer service is this?

Network with people or friends all over India and organize a consumer movement in India. Take on these guys who fatten on your money and take you for a ride courtesy demagogues at Delhi who seek party funds and pretend innocent and unconcerned about these modes of conduct of the Telecom companies. The Governtment and Regulatory bodies need to take suo moto cognisance of these happenings and take action against these companies. This is their duty to the people of the nation but since they just got their money they choose to talk law to the people who have given the authority to govern the nation.

Take them on!

Regards,
Ramesh
