[Resolved]  American Express Banking Corp. — Wrong transactions

I started using the AMEX credit card from 2 years back, as the sales person promised lots of rewards and free for first year and Rs.5,000/- from second year onwards. In the first one year, I got only rewards worth Rs.2,000 against the promised rewards of around Rs. 20,000/-. Just to mention,I am using Citi Bank CC for more than 7 years and I get around Rs.10000 worth rewards annually for the same amount of transactions made. Also the AMEX cards were not accepted in most of the merchants including fuel-stations.

End of first year, I refused to renew the card for next year, but the AMEX customer support convinced me by extending the card for one more year just by adjusting the whole reward points worth Rs.2,000 + cash charge of Rs. 1000 in next month bill for the next year service charge. I almost stopped using that card from that date.

To the worst, in the last few months, I saw few wrong transactions made by AMEX on my card (saying Payment inwards/adjusted) and I got the bill to pay Rs.15500 in that month.

After which, I started following with AMEX customer support, but there is no proper response; Every time, they say we are verying and get back to you shortly, but no response next couple of weeks. To the bad, I am receiving payment reminder letter every month at my address.

I strongly recommend not to use AMEX for personal use. I also use the same AMEX corp card for my official use, it seems okay there (not excellent).

Please let me know how to fix this issue and get ride of this issue.

gold card — Complaint for customer service

I am a Gold card holder of ABN amro bank
I am writing to inform you with the problem i am facing & also the customer care people sitting in cannought place office are giving me wrong information & not treating me well.

On last year July2007 i have purchased something for 40000rs through this credit card which i have converted into EMI for 10 months. I had paid 4627rs from july to december07. And on the January month i have not paid anything & on feb'08 i have paid 10000rs. This means i have paid total amount 37762rs. After all this i have started getting call from Priti, connought place abn amro customer care office her number is 32637084. She told me that i am left with a balance of near about ten thousand rupees & after this my account will be close. After a long conversation for 2 to 3 weeks i have given her cheque for 10thousand rupees.
Moreover i have not got any closing letter for this & i have called up her plenty of times. That time she told me that the closing letter has been issued & I'll receive it very soon.

However i have not received anything yet & i have started getting call from the same CP office that i am due with some of amount. when i talked about all this they advised me the Priti has gone for a long break as her exams are going on. There are few girls sitting in a CP branch customer care office doesn't even know how to deal or talk to their customer. Most of the time i call them & telling them all about this problem they simply cut my phone & after that no one comes on line. There is Prabjeet, her number is 32642726. Shally at 32637074 & many more girls who always keep transferring my call from one number to another & but no one gives any senior or supervisor on call. Today i had a word with Prabjeet (more then 20 th times) & i asked her to please put me to any of your senior or supervisor. Then she put me to shally Sharma, she told me that she is her supervisor. when i started talking her abt my problem she simply cut my phone & after that no one picked up. I have never seen such a bad customer service. This is really pathetic. when i try to get in touch with any senior person who can help me out...no one picked up or they never transfer my call to anyone. But when i am on some urgent work or in a office meeting i always gets a call from customer care that i am due with some of amount. Could I please ask you to look into these matters - not only on my behalf but also on behalf of other customer, and in fact on behalf of your company, too.
