Dell — Complaint Against Dell India for Wrongful Refusal to Replace Defective Battery Under Warranty

I am filing this complaint against Dell India for refusing to replace the battery of my Dell G15 5530 laptop despite clear evidence of abnormal battery degradation within the warranty period.

This is my second complaint for the same device.

**This is my second complaint regarding the same device. Despite raising my concerns earlier and giving Dell sufficient opportunity to resolve the issue, I have received no effective assistance or satisfactory resolution. Instead of honoring the warranty, Dell has repeatedly refused to replace the battery, forcing me to continue pursuing the matter. As a consumer, I should not have to repeatedly complain about the same issue on a brand-new laptop.**

This laptop is only about one month old. Within this short period and after only **42 charge cycles**, the battery has already suffered an overall degradation of approximately **7%**, which is completely unacceptable for a brand-new device. More alarmingly, the battery report shows that **approximately 6% of this degradation occurred in a single sudden drop in the reported Full Charge Capacity**, indicating an abrupt and abnormal decline rather than normal gradual wear. The battery's **Design Capacity is 54, 880 mWh**, while its **Full Charge Capacity has fallen to 51, 118 mWh**. Such rapid deterioration within the first month of ownership raises serious concerns regarding the quality and reliability of the battery supplied with my laptop.

In addition, the laptop now provides only around **one hour of battery backup**, even while operating in Battery Saver mode, at the lowest screen brightness, and under light usage. This level of battery performance is unacceptable for a newly purchased laptop and is far below the standard any reasonable consumer would expect.

I visited the authorized Dell service center multiple times. The battery was inspected and its degraded condition was acknowledged. Despite this, Dell refused to replace the battery under warranty and failed to provide any satisfactory technical justification or written diagnostic explanation for rejecting my claim.

I purchased a brand-new Dell laptop with the expectation of receiving a reliable product backed by a meaningful warranty. Instead, I have been left with a rapidly degrading battery, repeated visits to the service center, and a complete lack of resolution. This is not the quality of product or after-sales service that Dell promises to its customers.

**I categorically state that I do not accept any temporary workaround, software update, recalibration, optimization advice, or any explanation that avoids resolving the actual defect. My only acceptable resolution is the immediate replacement of the defective battery under Dell's warranty.**

Dell has already been given sufficient opportunity to resolve this matter, yet it has continued to deny my legitimate warranty claim. Its repeated refusal to replace the battery has caused unnecessary inconvenience, wasted my time, and caused significant frustration and loss of confidence in the brand.

I therefore request the competent authority to direct Dell India to:

1. **Immediately replace the defective battery with a brand-new genuine Dell battery under warranty.**
2. Complete the replacement without any further delay.
3. Hold Dell India accountable for denying a legitimate warranty claim despite clear evidence of abnormal battery degradation in a virtually new laptop.

**I respectfully request immediate intervention. I am not seeking explanations, temporary fixes, or assurances. Battery replacement under warranty is the only acceptable resolution to this complaint.**
