I am writing to bring to your attention my extremely disappointing experience at Disha Eye Hospital, Durgapur. During my recent visit, I noticed that the overall behaviour of staff members — including the security guard, gatekeeper, cashier desk staff, and registration desk staff — was very rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful towards patients and their attendants.

Enormous amount of time taking in OPTOS room 327

The staff responsibility is very poor.

I had to wait 1.5 hrs. and after that I was asked to go to from room number 327 to 311(Oculyzer). They could have said this earlier instead of having patient wait that long just to stand in correct queue....

Regarding Doctor's rude behaviour

I visited this hospital to consult for my family. We consulted with Dr Padmawati bhattacharyaa. When we asked few questions related to our concerns with the surgery that she recommended, she started shouting at my father. I have never experienced such rude behaviour from any of the literate person holding such respected position.This is a big shame to such big Fame. I would never recommend anyone from my close one to consult such illiterate...

Dr Mrinmoy dey .l booked for OPD. when i book at counter I asked doctor available.yes.
But i wait aprox 1.5 hour but doctor busy another works our emergency nothing for him.so doctor is very irresponsible person.so kindly action against him. Only not i many people suffer for this.

    Dr Partha Mondal Operation my mom for left eye and after operation he told that successful operation but now my mom left eye totally damage and Dr told she loss left eye.
    Please action on this issue
    Dr also charged huge amount for operation....

    Sir
    Myself sibaprasad Dey PID [protected] ordered for a spectacle on 25 sep 2021, order no ORD[protected] Paid 6660.00 by payment no PT[protected] in sheoraphully DIsha eye hospital. They told the spectacle will be delivered within 10 days. After 10 days I ring to disha [protected], they give a number of a professional courier. They told they will deliver within 1-2 d ays . Today on 11 Oct 2021. I again call but they did not pick up phone. I again ring to Disha, they told courier not lifting phone . We the poor customer where to go . Please advice.

      My father Mr. Swapan Kumar Mitra (Patient ID P[protected]) had undergone Eye Surgery (Vitrectomy & ILM Peeling) on 17th May, 2019 under Dr. Subhendu Boral at Barrackpore Brunch of your hospital. At the time of admission I have paid Rs. 28750 (Mediclaim package was Rs. 33100) including all charges. Later, the mediclaim company (The New India Assurance Co. Ltd.) sanctioned an initial amount of Rs. 16, 290 in the cashless scheme out of Rs. 33100. They assured that the remaining amount can be considered for reimbursement only after submission of all the required documents like Hospital's detailed bill (Brake up), pharmacy bills etc. Disha Mediclaim help desk initially assured me that they will provide all the required documents and they deducted Rs. 16810 (shortfall from Rs. 33100) from my initial deposit and returned me back the rest amount. But after that they declined to provide me the detailed split bill (Brake up)for this purpose. Now, without the detailed split bill (Brake up) for the hospital I cannot submit the claim form for reimbursement of Rs. 16810. Please help to sort out the problem at your earliest.

        Today my mother and my sister visited Disha eye hospital at Sheoraphuly. Appointment number is SHP19A12018. After the checkup, the doctor advised her to get the cataract operated on without further delay. So, they visited the TPA desk for discussing the packages for a cashless claim, because she is having medical insurance. I asked my mother to hand over the phone to the lady sitting at the desk so that I may facilitate the ease of explaining to her my mother's financial disposition.
        First, they refused to speak with me saying that such a thing was not allowed. Which part is exactly is not allowed in explaining that my mother has medical insurance?
        Secondly, my mother asked the lady to explain to her the packages available. They only provided 1 sheet of paper where it was mentioned only the documents required for the operation and no brochure regarding the cost associated with the operation was provided. When they politely asked the lady to write on paper the operation costs, they replied they don't have the right to give anything written on paper. Apparently, it was not their job. So whose job is it, the doctor's?
        Then my mother and sister went to the cash counter to take care of the details of cash expenses.
        After the incident, my mother called and explained what happened and how the people sitting at the TPA misbehaved with them.
        Then I tried to contact the TPA team but all their numbers mentioned on the hospital website are out of order. I, as a last resort, tried to call the hospital's reception and they were kind enough to transfer my call to the to TPA desk.
        After that their behaviour just blew my mind. The shower of praises that I received from the one lady who dealt with my mother shall never be forgotten. I am sharing the recording of the conversation I had to provide the chance for others to listen. I hope it reaches the ears of the hospital management.
        The lady literally threatened me saying that she has a video recording of my mother who didn't want the cashless claim. Over the conversation, one could hear how she just railroaded me and didn't even let me speak for one moment. She realised it was her mistake and so raised her voice in defiance trying to make me give up. Finally, she hung on me without letting me even speak.
        I am shocked at how the management can allow such disgusting, ill-mannered, unprofessional staff in such a good hospital. They insulted me, my sister, and my mother and belittled her by saying that I was an illiterate person in front of a crowd. Outrageous as it may sound, it is the absolute truth. She even said that I was disrespectful towards her as she was in a senior position and her chair had authority. But my mother was elder to her. She had no respect for my mother. How can she expect respect from anybody? I have heard that power corrupts, but this is kind of behaviour is absurd coming from just a Hospital staff. Is it not their duty to serve the ailing? And what treatment did my mother and sister receive? Is this the current scenario of medical services in our country?
        I share the evidence with a small message. If anybody can help me figure out that lady's identity then I would be thankful to you.
        I have already sent the same to the hospital authorities and the consumer forum. Also, I am taking a flight this Sunday to assist with my mom's operation.
        Definitely from ANOTHER hospital and NOT in DISHA EYE HOSPITAL.

        Waiting for 2 hours and doctor hasn't come, staffs are so route. they dont know how to talk nd dont know anytning nd even know related to technical knowledge just useless staffs.

          We were asked to pay balance money of rs. 5000 for the surgery as initial approval ofrs. 18000 was provided by max bupa insurance co. Hospital forced to pay the balance before surgery else surgery will be stopped until the whole amount received.
          Kindly train your hospital staff what cashless means and what is the difference between cashless and reimbursement.

            For disha there is no customer service available. The numbers shared in the prescripion and internet is of no use. Even face to face behaviour of the disha members are pathetic. For mediclaim the insurance company is waiting for a document for 3 days but disha is not responding at all. So everytime the custoners will go through this mental harrasment?? Is there any possiblity to take proper steps and to let them kmow how to behave or assist with the patients and their families?

              chalazion surgery not done properly

              My wife had done chalazion surgery in disha eye hospital - gariahat under
              Dr. Sujoy banik on 15th nov'17.
              It was been told to us that after 3 days, she can resume to her normal work
              Very sorry to say that 2 weeks gone, she can't see properly through her left eye which has gone chalazion surgery and the chalazion re-occur in the same eye same position.
              The eye pupil was diluted in such a way still it didn't come...

              Very bad and rude behaviour of staffs

              I am sourav singha roy and i am a phd fellow of madras iit. Yesterday i go to disha eye hospital (Barrackpore brunch) for eye check-up. The behaviour of receptionist of room number 106 was terrible. Their behaviour was so rude that i can't explain it in words. Even when i go for making complaint they make call to complaint desk and the attitude of that lady at complaint desk was terrible. That is the reason why most of the people have fear...

              I was suggested to wear glass for constant use. I made glass, but my view is more unclear. Then I realize that the power and axis mentioned in the presentation are different from the machine generated report.. I remember the information in machine generated slip.                 No single penny hospitality.poeple do come to hospital with a hope.if this kind of gesture we get from your staff.disgustting nonsense idiotic behaviour.we were talking appointment so my wife was asking about the doctors which will be available ? The receptionist making faces laughing etc etc.

                  On 22/02/2017 I go Durgapur Disha Eye Hospital for doing OCT at Left eye as per advice Durgapur Steel Hospital.I also took appointment on 22/02/17 to do that.Actual cost of OCT at one eye is Rs300/- .But Durgapur Disha bill me double, one for oct Rs300/- and another for consultation Rs200/- i.e total 500/-.It is first time Disha Eye Hospital behave me like that.I consult with my Durgapur Steel Hospital doctors they told me it is illegal to take additional consultation Rs 200/-.So they deny to sanction Rs200/-.I hope Durgapur Disha violet the Medical establishment and regulatory act.So take prompt action against above complain and refund Rs 200/- as soon as possible.I am also demand to stop such illegal cutting or billing in the name of consultation fees.The money receipt details are given belows:-

                    The person who did the laser treatment, he told that iam not well so he didn't completed the treatment and said come after 3 week again do all the test and again he will do it.

                    2.Claim put up by Disha hospital for Rs 26000.00. However Rs 17500.00 cashless was
                    approved by Bajaj Insurance as on operation day i.e 30 March 21.

                    3. Disha Hospital collected balance Rs 8500.00 in cash from me prior my eye operation

                      Disha eye hospital, Barackpore although provides good service and is equipped with best equipments, some doctors often are unavailable. May be the doctors are running private clinics in duty hours. Room No. 8, ground floor, Doctor Sougata Basu (DOMS, FCLL) comes from kolkata and always late. That too he remains in Disha hospital, Barackpore for just few hour. Most of the time he reamains unavailable.

                        It is not understood why Disha has not yet submitted, please expedite Disha to receive the same
