On 7th July afternoon, the elica brand glass cooktop blasted when my wife was in the kitchen. The kitchen Hob was not in use and started cracking all in a sudden with a loud noise.
The glass fragments were all over the kitchen. We were using the product for around 9 months & this was a shock for all o[censored]s, my one year old
kid was there just before the incident and thankfully did not come there during this time.
We were worried & wanted to get an expert advice on whether it is safe to keep the remnants of glass top in kitchen further, thinking whether it will blast further or not.
Made numerous calls to have a technician visit us & give us a resolution. The officials kept arguing with me stating that the glass top will not burst.
I had to send pictures to them & still they kept saying they will not send a technician as it will not burst again. I even talked to Elica manager of kochi location who was extremely rude & shouted saying it won't blast! Pathetic customer care service I must say.
After an extremely tiring & painful customer care experience, a a technician turned up & put tape around the glass top & left.
We do not feel comfortable to use elica kitchen hob with glass top again.We do not trust this product again.
Please provide me the compensation or replace this defective product with a steel cooktop. We do not want to use a GLASS top hob ever again.
