The car broke down in October 2021 due to clutch failure. The car had driven for 5 years and clocked a total of around 30, 000 KM. Even this was too early compared to other car models which run for a lakh km without any issues with the clutch. Anyways we got the entire clutch assembly replaced with a costing in excess of Rs. 21, 000/- and took the delivery of the vehicle. Again in April 2022, right after 6 months the car again had a clutch failure in the middle of the road and had to be towed to the service center. The car now been driven only for 6 months and clocked just about 2, 900 KM. The Ford service center is as usual again asking us to replace the entire clutch assembly with full cost since the parts fall under wear and tear, with no redressal to why the last clutch replacement has lasted for such a short time blaming everything on our driving. I have driven for last 15 years without any such issues with the clutch. Such a short life of the part clearly indicates that an inferior quality clutch assembly was installed which has worn out in less than 6 months/2, 900 KM compared to the original part which at least lasted for for 5 years and more than 30, 000 KM. The Ford India company and their service centers are trying to fleece the customers by not addressing the problems with the clutch and putting the onus on customers.
